First-up record of a second and third from two attempts is encouraging despite the 105-day break. The wide draw and Troy Baker's poor recent form are negatives, but the proven closing ability at this venue makes her a strong each-way proposition.
The first-up flop at Hobart was concerning but second-up improvement is expected with the significant Luke Currie upgrade. The wide barrier 16 is a genuine negative but the predicted fast tempo should allow her to settle midfield and use her superior finishing ability. Class drop from Open to Maiden is significant.
Khaleesi's Dream is a speculative value play based entirely on connections strength. Erica Byrne Burke is the leading Launceston jockey at 16% from 105 rides and her combination with trainer Adam Trinder has a superb 15% strike rate from 119 rides. The jockey's current form of 4 winners from 20 rides is the best in the race.

The clear standout on form in this maiden. Four starts for two seconds and two thirds is exceptional consistency. Her second at this track on Soft 5 last start, beaten just 1 length over 1220m, suggests the step to 1400m is ideal. The Stevenson-Jordan combination is potent and the filly gets a weight advantage over the older geldings. The concern is she hasn't been able to convert placings to wins, but this looks a weaker maiden than some she's contested.
Only two starts but showing clear improvement. Still, the distance and surface form is directly relevant and the Bazan-Pires combination has a solid record.
His close second at this track and distance on Soft 5 in January is the key form reference - beaten just half a length. The winkers go on for the first time which could help. However, the lack of a named jockey is concerning, his last start was poor, and barrier 11 is wide.
A Victorian maiden with form lines that stack up well against this Tasmanian field. The soft track is an unknown but his Riordan booking suggests connections are confident.

Navarre River is the progressive improver in this field, a 4yo gelding stepping up from a last-start Class 2 win over this distance on the same track condition. The class rise from Class 2 to Class 4 is the key question, but his upward trajectory and age suggest there's more to come.
Agnete has an outstanding record at this track and distance with 1 win and 3 seconds from 4 starts at Launceston 1400m. The concern is Newitt's cold streak and her tendency to place rather than win, but the class drop and track-distance affinity make her a genuine contender.
Fiorente De Legend is the most consistent horse in this field with an extraordinary record of placings at this distance and on soft ground. Her recent win at BM64 level shows she can convert, and the slight class drop from her last two BM68 runs is a positive. Barrier 2 is ideal for the 1400m at Launceston, and Byrne Burke's current form adds confidence. The concern is her tendency to finish second, but in a Class 4 field she should be competitive throughout.
However, the significant class rise from Class 2 to Class 4, the wide barrier 9, and limited 1400m experience make this a risk play.

Ladbrokes Community Sports Series (Bm64)
Johnnie Pinch won at this track and distance in BM60 on Jan 14 and ran a solid third in BM64 at Hobart last start. Drops from Open company back to BM64 which suits. Proven soft track record and strong distance stats make him the most likely winner. The 62.5kg top weight is a concern but his class edge and likely on-pace position in a moderate tempo should see him competitive.
Moorlands Miss is the class runner dropping sharply from Listed company to BM64. The Jordan-Stevenson combination has a strong 22% strike rate. Barrier 3 is ideal and the class drop should see her competitive. Recent form is the concern but the talent is undeniable.
His 38% win rate is the best in the field and Radley's 40% combination record is strong.
The bottom weight of 52.5kg gives him a massive advantage in a race with a 10kg spread.

Perspiration is the clear class horse in this field with a Listed win at Rosehill and Group 3 experience in Sydney. Third up now and peaking fitness-wise. The step to 1200m at Launceston suits his finishing style, especially with a fast predicted tempo to run into. The 3kg weight advantage over the topweight is significant.
Geegees Gemstone is the proven Launceston 1200m performer with an outstanding 3-1-2 record at this track and trip. His two consecutive seconds in Open class on Soft 5 show he's in strong form, and he won a Listed race here on this surface. The concern is top weight and a fast predicted tempo with Turk Warrior also wanting to lead. Barrier 4 gives him the option to control or sit just off the speed.
However, this represents a significant class rise from Class 4 to Open company. His only prior Open attempt at Launceston 1200m yielded a 7th.
His Launceston record of 6 wins from 11 starts is outstanding, and the fast predicted tempo perfectly suits his finishing style from midfield.

Lime Finance 3yo Classic
His Launceston record of 3 wins from 4 is outstanding, including an Open win on Soft 5. The 59kg top weight is a concern but manageable given his superiority. Last start 4th at Hobart can be forgiven as he was trapped inside from barrier 1. Sanderson reunites after their dominant partnership. The fast tempo may test him as likely leader, but his class should prevail.
Swift Force is the most dangerous rival to Mazzini. She won the key Open form race at Hobart on Soft 5 beating several of today's rivals, and her unbeaten record on soft tracks is a major asset. The 3kg weight swing from Mazzini is significant. Newitt's poor recent form is a concern, but the filly has clear upside with only 3 starts. Barrier 3 suits a midfield run in the predicted fast tempo.
Geegees Missile is a consistent performer who keeps hitting the frame at Open level without winning. The predicted fast tempo should suit her closing style, though Launceston 1200m can favour on-pacers. The 0-for-2 record at 1200m is a concern but both runs produced placings in strong Open company.
Agadoo is a speculative value play based on her improving trajectory and bottom weight advantage.

BWS Hellova Street Stakes
His 69% career win rate is elite, and he handles soft ground well (2 wins, 2 placings from 5 soft starts). The track knowledge and consistency make him the most likely winner despite the class rise concerns.
Steparty brings the best class credentials having raced at Group 1-2 level on the mainland. His last start win over Durazzo at Hobart on soft ground is a strong form reference. However, his 1600m record (0-1-2 from 7 starts) is a genuine concern, and he's never raced at Launceston. The speed map has him likely leading into a moderate-fast tempo which could set up closers. Slight value lean to Durazzo given track experience, but Steparty's class makes him the clear danger.
Cartoon Graveyard is a proven 1600m performer with a Listed win at Murray Bridge and a close second at Sale over the trip. He has solid Launceston form (two placings at track and distance) and handles soft ground. His last start 4th behind Steparty and Durazzo keeps him in the frame, and barrier 1 is an asset. The main concern is jockey Craig Newitt's dire recent form (0 from 20), but the horse's consistency and distance suitability make him the best each-way option behind the top two.
He's a progressive type with a 40% career win rate who is still lightly raced. The class rise is the main query, but he's already proven competitive at Listed level. If the moderate-fast tempo eventuates, his midfield settling position could see him finishing over the top of tiring leaders. The jockey booking is the main negative.

Country Club Tasmania Vamos Stakes
Sanniya is the clear class runner with a remarkable 86% win rate and dominant Group 3 victory at Hobart last start where she beat several of today's rivals. The 3.5kg weight advantage is significant in a compressed weight scale. The key question is the step to 1400m for the first time, but her progressive profile and soft track dominance (3 from 3) make her the most likely winner. Newitt's recent cold streak is a minor concern but his record on this filly is outstanding.
Grid Girl brings the strongest mainland form with a BM94 Rosehill win and Open Cranbourne victory this preparation. The last start Group 3 failure at Flemington is a concern, but that was a stronger race. The wide barrier is a negative at Launceston's 1400m start, but her class edge over the locals (excluding Sanniya) is significant. Hayes/Currie combination adds confidence.
She carries the same 53.5kg as Sanniya and has a strong soft track record. Her only 1400m start produced a competitive 3rd in Listed company at Caulfield, suggesting the distance suits. The jockey booking of Harry Grace is a clear negative compared to her previous rides with Craig Williams and Darmanin, but the class edge over most of this field is substantial. Represents clear value if Sanniya fails to handle the distance step.
The progressive 4yo has a 67% place rate overall and draws ideally in barrier 2 for Launceston's 1400m. While the class rise is significant, her Hobart Group 3 third behind Sanniya showed she can compete at this level. The inside draw and soft track suitability give her a clear tactical advantage over several rivals drawn wide.

Ziryab was narrowly beaten in the Hobart Cup two weeks ago and returns here with the benefit of that run. His mainland form at BM84 and Listed level is the strongest staying form in this field. The Maher stable wouldn't travel to Tasmania without genuine intent. Gets a 2kg weight drop and draws a workable middle barrier.
Blonde Star delivered a stunning Hobart Cup victory at 2400m on Soft 5 last start and returns under identical conditions. The mare gets minimum weight and has an outstanding partnership with Byrne Burke. The concern is the class rise against mainland raiders, but she's proven at the distance and conditions.
Taramansour was a close 4th in the Hobart Cup and has an outstanding record at 2400m with consistent placings. His Listed win at Pakenham two starts back confirms he can compete at black-type level. Barrier 2 suits his on-pace racing style and Luke Currie is a quality booking. The concern is his soft track record and tendency to place rather than win, but he's the most experienced stayer in the field.
Gets a significant weight drop to 54kg and knows the course and distance. The main concern is his inability to win on soft tracks (0 from 14), though he does place consistently.

Azonto drops dramatically in class having contested Listed and Open races, including a 3rd in the Listed Hobart Cup. Second up now at a distance she's competitive at, the class relief is enormous. The concern is Newitt's cold streak and no wins on soft, but the class edge is significant enough to overcome these negatives.
His BM72 win at Launceston and BM68 win at Hobart demonstrate he's well above this BM64 level. The soft track record is excellent with 4 wins from 19 starts. From barrier 1 he can control the pace, though the predicted fast tempo with another leader is a risk. The top weight is a negative but his class advantage partially offsets this.
Wednesday's Boss gets in on the minimum weight of 52.5kg which is a massive advantage in this field with a 10kg spread. She has a solid record at this track and distance (3:1-1-0) and handles soft ground. The class rise from Class 2 is a concern, but the weight relief compensates. Her 2nd at this track over 1200m on Soft 6 two starts back was encouraging. The inconsistency is the main worry but the weight makes her competitive.
She's coming off a strong 2nd in BM68 at Hobart just 10 days ago, suggesting peak fitness. The barrier 4 draw is ideal and she gets a handy weight. The major concern is zero wins from 10 Launceston starts, but her place record there (0-3-3) shows she's competitive.
