Hellfighter is still a maiden after 13 starts, but the record reads five seconds and two thirds, headed by a close third in stronger plate company at Queanbeyan over 1600m on soft and a nose second on heavy at Wagga. He drops back to a maiden from barrier 3 with a midfield sit that fits this circuit, and he has already shown he handles rain.

Poppa Joe Memorial Showcase Mdn Plate
Reveillon is the map horse. She has one second and four thirds from 10 starts at Moruya and led them a long way when beaten half a length over 1435m here last start. A light weight and genuine speed give her the chance to control a slowly run early maiden, which is the right profile on this circuit. Barrier 7 is the worry because she may burn petrol crossing, and she has placed on soft without winning on it.
Isotropic brings the right wet profile and the right position. She has one second and two thirds from five starts on soft, including a close third at Queanbeyan when she sat handy, and she maps to settle about third from barrier 6. That is the part of the track that wins early maidens here. The doubt is freshness: she was only seventh at Wagga three days ago, and both rider and trainer are cold.
Harlem Tickle is the overlay, not a horse to trust blindly. She has no wins and only one third from 12 starts, and she is yet to place from five runs on soft. Horses that settle forward win these early Moruya maidens, and her latest fourth, beaten just over a length, shows she can be in the finish when the race is run to suit. A small each-way stake only.

Remy's Bro is the form horse to beat. He has already won at Moruya in the heavy, sits on the speed, and is fit. A moderate tempo and Friday sprint bias both suit a horse who can hold a forward spot.
Noteabeel has done all his racing on wet ground and his latest Gundagai run, sixth on soft in a Class 1, was better than the margin. He draws barrier 3, Brodie Loy goes on, and a moderate pace lets a horse from just off the speed into the race.
Melodia Perfecta is the course-and-distance placer. She was second in a Class 1 here two back and third leading in a BM58 last start, both on soft, and she again maps just behind the speed from barrier 6. That pattern makes her a live place chance in a moderate-tempo sprint.
Sesto is a speculative map play, not a form horse. He is the natural leader, the weight is light, and Moruya's 1010m races on a Friday punish horses that give away a start. The form is thin: a long break, a habit of stopping, and no soft-track win. A small each-way stake is the right size.

Coastal Auto Group Moruya Mustang Showcase Hcp
Teylu is the most likely winner because he can sit on the pace in a moderate tempo, the right profile for an early Friday sprint at Moruya. He resumes with one win and three seconds from four first-up runs and has placed in six of eight starts on soft. Around this trip he has three wins and four seconds from ten starts. Barrier 7 and 60.5kg after a long break are the knocks, and the stable is cold, but a close second in an Open handicap at Wagga shows he handles this grade on the speed.
Keikoku brings the best recent win in the field, a narrow Federal Quality success at Canberra over 1000m thirteen days ago, and he has already placed in Open handicaps on soft ground. That class keeps him in the finish. The map works against him: he is slow to begin and is drawn to settle back where Moruya sprinters rarely win, especially early on the card.
Gunroom has the run of the race. He is the quickest to begin, draws barrier 4 and should lead or box-seat in a moderate tempo, with 55kg and Jean Van Overmeire for a stable that wins often at Moruya. Rain suits him, with two wins and two seconds from six starts on soft or heavy. The rise from provincial grade is steep and his last two starts were plain, including a beaten on-pace effort at Randwick, so he is an each-way chance in a race that favours the leaders.
Fangela is the overlay. Five wins from twenty on soft and six wins from nineteen at the distance are the best wet-track and trip credentials in the race, and barrier 3 lets him sit midfield just off a moderate speed. He has already won at Moruya, and Heywood with Dryden and Snowden is a strong combination.

Harcourts Narooma And Batemans Bay Country Boosted Showcase Mdn Hcp
He controlled a stronger Hawkesbury maiden and only just went under, and barrier 1 lets him do the same job here on a course that heavily favours horses in the first few. The Canterbury fade shows he is beatable when the race is not run to suit, and he has never seen soft ground.
Her Corowa third, beaten a nose, is the sharpest recent performance in the field, and she had already run on honestly in the wet at Narromine when things went wrong. She drops out of a maiden plate into this race with 56kg, barrier 3 and a rider who knows Moruya. If she settles in the first half she is the danger to the leader. If she repeats a deep settle she gives away the bias, which is why she is second rather than first.
De Razilly is the wet-track hope with a map. Both her starts were on rain-affected ground and she was desperately unlucky not to win a similar maiden over this trip at Sapphire Coast. Barrier 2 should let her camp just behind Czech Me in a moderate tempo. The catch is freshness: that form is old, and her only public work since was an ordinary Goulburn trial.
She has no raceday form, which is not held against her, and the public evidence is a nose second in a Moruya trial on soft ground with today's apprentice. That is a closer match to a Soft 6 1010m than the other first-starters offer, and 52.5kg is a gift if she handles the rise to race speed. The stable is out of form, so this is a small each-way only, not a top-three selection.

Andy Quill Memorial Showcase (Bm74)
Miss Stalwart brings the best recent wet form into this Soft 6 test. Her Canberra second on soft was a genuine effort from a handy spot under 58.5kg, and she meets Think I Do better at the weights after beating her that day. Two wins from eight at the distance and two heavy-track wins back her up, with a soft record of 24:2-5-2.
Her soft form is strong at 10:1-3-3. She sits second on this card after a well-beaten eighth at Canterbury when caught wide on good, and her Goulburn second was in a slowly run race. The honest soft third at Canberra still finished behind Miss Stalwart.
Marsabit has been racing above a Moruya BM74. His Bathurst Cup fourth on soft and his efforts in BM78 grade show he can run to this standard, barrier 3 helps, and four wins from 18 at the distance confirm the trip. He is difficult to trust to win on the rain: 37 soft starts without a win, mostly placing, and he lumbers 58.5kg from off the pace where Moruya closers struggle. No rider is booked.
Two wins and a second from five at Moruya, including a win from three at this trip, and he maps on the pace with only 53kg. Soft form places half the time. The rise from BM66 is the catch: recent Nowra runs were competitive without looking up to this class, and he weakened badly in heavy going here in August.

Dumebi is the form pick in a race that should favour horses who can sit handy. He won at Moruya on a Soft 7 sixteen days ago and already has a win at this track and trip. Second-up he has a 5:1-1-2 record, the stable wins often here, and early speed should put him in the first few on a Friday card where on-pacers hold an edge.
She has the best map in the race, should control a moderate tempo, and her last three runs in metro BM72 company were honest, including a close second on soft going. Heavy form is strong. Save her for the placings.
Lady Yarrow brings the best supporting form line in the race. She maps to settle just behind the speed, which is the right part of a Moruya sprint, and she places in half her starts with two soft-track wins.
He has already won an Open handicap on soft and was a close second in another open race on a Soft 7 in July, plus he has won at Moruya.

Millie's Memory is the clearest winning chance in a Moruya maiden sprint. She already has two seconds and a third from four starts here, acts on soft and heavy, and has the speed to sit forward, which is how these Friday maidens are usually won. Last start she led and missed by a nose.
Silverwater Kid fits the Friday pattern: he races on the speed and is improving. The neck third at Illawarra, after leading, was up to the standard of this maiden, and he already has a second on soft ground. Barrier 6 gives McDougall a clean shot at the fence. The query is the other leader.
Cheeky Sort has the wet-track and forward credentials this race asks for. She led throughout on soft at Wyong and went down by just over a length, then held third at Moruya last start when asked to race outside the leader. Barrier 5 again puts her in the right lane.
Her only race start was a five-length ninth at Goulburn, but she covered extra ground three-wide and the performance was better than the margin. She has since trialled a close second at Nowra and earlier won a soft-track trial. Day knows this circuit and the filly has the speed to sit around midfield rather than last from barrier 12.

Heck Of A Deck Showcase (Bm58)
Three leaders should ensure a genuine gallop, which suits a horse who can take a sit rather than do all the work.
Showtime Maggie is the closer this speed map is built for. She won at Canberra over 1200m after giving them a big start, and she has already run second in this grade at Moruya on heavy ground when she was held up. A rise from a weaker race and a pattern of missing the start are real risks on a track that favours horses nearer the speed.
Bedda Mia gets the map many of the fancied runners do not. Barrier 4 lets her land midfield in a race with three horses intent on leading, and she won on heavy ground over a similar trip only two starts ago. The distance record is sound. The last start, when she missed the kick and finished ninth in a Class 2, is the worry, and her rider has been quiet.
Melodia Perfecta is the value. She has placed at her last two Moruya starts on soft ground, both times racing forward, and 56.5kg is a handy weight if she can hold a position just off the three leaders. The wide gate and an unnamed rider stop her being a top-three selection, and she did tire after leading here last time.
