That form towers over this field. The wide barrier is a concern at Geelong where inside draws are favoured, but if he can press forward he should be hard to beat. The clear horse to beat.

Boa Vista has raced in far stronger company including a Listed placing and Group races. Dropping back to a Maiden is a significant class advantage. She placed at Geelong in her only start here and the addition of winkers should help her focus.
Jack The Judge has been consistent with two 3rds and a 4th in his last three starts. From barrier 1 he can settle on the pace, which is a strong advantage at Geelong. Jye McNeil is a positive booking.
Despite finishing 4th, the time suggests he has ability. From barrier 3 and with that run under his belt, he can improve sharply.

First-up from a spell but has a solid first-up placing record. Barrier 9 is a slight negative but he can cross using early speed. The main queries are the long layoff and winless record, but in a weak Maiden he looks the most reliable chance.
Gina's A Star showed ability with a narrow 2nd at Seymour on soft going last prep. John Allen is a significant jockey booking and she has had time to mature. However, first-up after a long break and drawn wide are negatives. She will need luck to get a good position from barrier 10.
True Lies made a respectable debut at Ballarat before disappointing at 1400m. Back to 1100m and first-up with a good barrier, she can settle handy and improve. The track conditions are unknown but she has gate speed.
Dagger One showed improvement when 4th at Mornington last start, his first legitimate effort. He draws well and gets a chance to settle on-speed. Each-way appeal only.

On The Loose is the most progressive runner in the field, improving sharply to a narrow 2nd last start. Drawn ideally in barrier 3, he can settle forward and be strong at the finish. Geelong's on-speed bias favours his racing pattern, and his jockey has a solid track record. The main query is whether he can replicate his heavy track form on Soft 5, but the class drop from metro to provincial Maiden is a significant positive.
Dame Florence has been competitive in stronger metro maidens, placing twice behind talented types. Dropping to a provincial Maiden with a light weight is a major boost. The only minor concern is a lack of Geelong experience, but her racing pattern should adapt. She is a serious winning threat.
King Maywin returns from a spell but has shown enough ability to be competitive fresh, especially after a similar layoff previously. His best runs have come at Geelong and Sandown, and the 1300m trip suits. The wide draw is the main obstacle, but if he can slot into a midfield position, his closing ability may threaten.
He failed to reproduce that on Heavy 8 next start, but the heavy conditions likely compromised him. Value runner.

Pari Moi has been knocking on the door with consistent placings in similar maidens. Barrier 2 allows Jye McNeil to settle midfield and exploit the apparent backmarker bias at Geelong. She handles soft ground and looks the one to beat.
This gelding is on the improve, placing third on a soft track last time with a light weight. From barrier 3 he can settle handy and be strong late.
Reel Raider improved significantly at her second start, running fourth at Geelong. From the inside gate she can control the race and the step to 1700m may suit. A strong place chance.
Each-way appeal.

Surf Coast Times (Bm62)
Recent form includes back-to-back wins at BM56 level, and despite a moderate 8th when stepping up to BM62 last time, the margins are forgiving. Linda Meech's strong association and the gelding's ability to settle forward suit the Geelong on-speed bias. The main query is the weight and soft-track form, but overall he presents as the most reliable winning chance.
Squander brings excellent recent form to the table, highlighted by a close second over 1760m at this track in the same class just three weeks ago. While she has yet to win at BM62 level, her consistent placing pattern suggests a breakthrough is near. The slight step up to 1700m is no concern given her stamina-laden record over 2000m+.
Caleana comes off a solid third at Ballarat and has a win over 1600m in this class earlier in the campaign. The glaring concern is barrier 14 over 1700m at Geelong, a track that strongly favours runners drawn inside and settling handy. He may need to go back and rely on a strong finish, which is achievable but risky. Despite the draw, the class and jockey combination make him a must-include.
She has been consistent without winning, but recent efforts include a strong 3rd on heavy at Warrnambool and a close 2nd at Horsham. The light weight, good barrier, and proven soft-track form align well with the Geelong on-speed profile.

Bomboras (Bm62)
Chocolate Royal drops dramatically in class from Listed and BM70 level to BM62. With Nadia Daniels' 3kg claim he gets in with just 54.5kg, a massive weight advantage. Barrier 1 is ideal at Geelong, where forward position is key. His narrow second at Bendigo over 2400m in BM70 proves he can be competitive at this trip. The last-start failure can be forgiven given the class rise, and he maps to settle handy. Clear top selection.
Jenny The Beaver is the only runner in the field with a win at Geelong over 2400m, having scored there last year. She has been racing well in BM70 company on heavy tracks, placing in two of her last three. Dropping back to BM62 and retaining a light weight with a good barrier, she maps to settle handy and should be right in the finish. Strong place chance.
Le Troisir has been racing well above this grade, placing in BM70 and BM74 events over 2000-2200m. He gets a slight class drop here but faces two major queries: he has never raced beyond 2200m and draws wide at a track where position at the 400m is critical.
Zibulon is a class drop special, coming from Group 2 and BM78 grade into BM62. With Shayleigh Ingelse's 3kg claim he gets in with just 54kg, a tremendous weight advantage. He has placed over 2400m on soft in BM74 company and has the stamina for this trip. Excellent value each-way or win.

The Valley Inn (Bm62)
Chewing Gum drops significantly in class and returns to a track where she has excellent credentials. Barrier 3 allows an economical run, crucial at Geelong where forward position matters. Despite the long spell, her first-up record is solid and she has been placed at this level before. The only concern is the Soft 5 surface but her recent efforts include placings on similar going. Likely to give a good account fresh.
His prior second placing at the track over 1112m in BM64 is strong form. The slight concern is the jockey change to Sarah Field, who lacks recent wins, but she rode him to victory at Seymour two runs back. Barrier 4 gives him every chance to lead or sit just behind the speed in a fast tempo. Strong each-way chance.
Paris Collection is a progressive filly who broke her maiden impressively at Kilmore. She showed she can handle the sting out of the ground when second on Soft 5. Barrier 7 should allow a midfield sit with cover. Craig Newitt is a positive booking. She is peaking at the right time and can measure up in an open BM62.
He returns to Geelong where he has won previously and maps to get every chance from barrier 2. The query is his poor record on soft ground, but the surface is only Soft 5 and he has placed on good tracks.

Champion Blinds (Bm62)
Hook 'n' Spur drops significantly in grade after competing in open races at Caulfield and Flemington. Barrier 2 provides a perfect run for Geelong's on-speed bias. He gets the top jockey Will Gordon and looks well placed to return to winning form.
Docinthe has been racing consistently in similar grades, finishing 4th at Geelong over 1443m last start. He drops slightly in class and draws well in barrier 7. John Allen takes the ride and has a strong Geelong record. While not a prolific winner, he should be in the mix again and represents solid each-way value.
Brazenga impressed winning at Geelong on a soft track in April, then failed badly on heavy. He can be forgiven that run and returned to a dry track. Barrier 3 gives him a perfect trail into the race.
New York Scandal has an excellent Geelong record with three starts all resulting in placings. She drops in class today and carries just 54.5kg. While drawn wide, a fast tempo could bring her late run into play.
