Consulate has the best form in the race, having run second in the same Canterbury maiden from which several rivals come. Heavy track is an unknown but her sire Home Affairs is versatile. In a small field, her class edge should see her go close despite the wide draw.

Woodenbridge finished third in that Canterbury maiden, just behind Consulate, and meets her on near-equal terms. Her debut was in Open company, suggesting she has some ability. Second-up and with a trial win between runs, she is ready to produce her best.
She was not disgraced and can improve with that run under her belt. The drop in weight (from 58kg to 56kg) is neutral as all carry 56kg today.
Rocket Girl debuted in an Open company at Hawkesbury and ran third, indicating good ability. She drops dramatically to Maiden grade and draws well in barrier 4. However, she returns from a long spell and has no wet track form, which raises doubts on Soft going. Still the main danger.
Hellflight showed enough on debut to suggest she can improve. The step to 1250m from 1100m looks suitable given her pedigree (Hellbent). A nose roll goes on for the first time, which often helps young horses concentrate.

Claudel has been consistent in two starts, finishing 2nd on both occasions on Soft surfaces. Despite a wide draw, the heavy track neutralises barrier bias and her closing style suits. The step down to 1150m is the query but she has early speed. Leading chance.
She is second-up and should improve, but the switch to Heavy is a query. Still a strong chance based on form.
Novel Attraction is the only runner in this field with clear heavy track form, having finished a narrow 2nd at Nowra on Heavy8. She drops in weight and maps well from the inside draw.
Creator Of World has been consistent without winning, placing twice in 6 starts. He is second-up today and ran a strong 2nd last start. The heavy track is a query but his barrier and light weight give him a chance.

Asahi Super Dry (Bm64)
Sister Daae drops in class after consistent metro performances, including a 2nd at Kensington two runs back. She has placed on Heavy and handles the ground. The step down to BM64 looks favourable and with McEvoy aboard she maps to get a nice run. She can settle midfield and close, making her the most reliable winning chance in an open race.
Barbray is a proven wet tracker with a win on Heavy and a strong class edge dropping from BM72 grade. He has placed over this trip before and gets the services of Tyler Schiller. While his last two runs were only fair, the drop in company and his liking for the conditions make him a serious threat. He can settle handy and will be strong late.
Ballpark is the clear form horse after a dominant win at Canterbury. He is included as a top 3 chance but not the top pick.
Microgravity is a lightly raced gelding who broke his maiden on Heavy 9 last start. He has been consistent in provincial maidens and now steps up to metro BM64 grade. The class rise is significant, but he carries only 54.5kg with a claim and has shown ability to handle wet ground.

PKF Newcastle (Bm72)
Scalextrics is a proven heavy-track specialist with 3 wins from 6 starts on the surface, the best in the field. He has placed at this track before and drops slightly in grade. While recent runs have been moderate, the heavy conditions and his closing style align well with the Kensington heavy profile where backmarkers are viable.
Hereward is consistent on heavy ground with three placings from four heavy starts, including a close third at Canterbury on Heavy8. He has a good record over the 1550m trip and the addition of a tongue tie could help. While his last run was poor, he can bounce back in conditions that suit.
He has a heavy track win to his name and carries just 54kg. The step up to BM72 is a query but with excellent recent jockey form and light weight, he can feature.
Full Hao brings consistent metro form and a good draw to a moderately weak BM72. Her recent 6th at Canterbury on Soft6 was not far off the winner, and she has placed in stronger company on Good tracks. The query is her soft track record (0 wins, 1 place from 3 runs). Adam Hyeronimus has a strong Kensington strike rate but the surface remains a concern.
Kenmare Bay boasts an excellent heavy track profile (1 win, 2 seconds, 2 thirds from 5 starts) and has placed all three times at Kensington. First-up from a spell is a slight query but he has placed fresh previously. Dropping back from BM78 grade and retaining Dylan Gibbons is positive.

The Replicant is a proven wet-track specialist with 2 wins and 6 placings from 14 heavy starts, making him ideally suited to the Heavy 9 surface. His recent form is consistent, finishing 4th and 5th in BM72 company, and barrier 5 offers a good run.
Iceman has a good heavy track record, including a solid 4th in a BM78 on Heavy10 at Randwick last start. Dropping back to BM72 is a plus, and barrier 2 gives him every chance to settle handy.
Dashing Rupert boasts an outstanding heavy track record with two wins from three starts on the surface. He is second-up today, a scenario where he has previously won, and his first-up run was passable. He should strip fitter and appreciate the wet ground.
Applaud is a heavy track winner with two victories from three starts on the surface, making him a prime candidate for this Heavy 9. He drops in class after running in BM78 events and should find this easier.

PKF Global (Bm64)
Infusion drops sharply from BM78 grade and has demonstrated genuine heavy-track ability with a maiden win and a third in BM64 company on the surface. The addition of blinkers for the first time is a positive gear change aimed at sharpening her early speed. She maps to settle midfield and has the class to be very competitive in this weaker field.
Piperita brings strong heavy-track credentials and a class drop from BM72 to BM64. She has a win on heavy at Newcastle and placed on heavy here at Kensington. First-up she has a win from three attempts, suggesting she can run fresh. However, the 124-day break and top weight of 60.5kg are negatives.
Mind Ya Bizz impressed winning her maiden on heavy at Gosford, showing a strong will to win and sound wet-track ability. She maps well from barrier 2, likely to lead or sit on pace, which suits Kensington even on heavy where the bias flattens. The class rise is a query but against a moderate BM64 field she appears the most progressive horse. Tyler Schiller’s good recent form adds confidence.
Zou Royal is a lightly raced filly who ran second on a heavy 8 at Hawkesbury in a CL1, suggesting she handles the wet. She steps up to BM64 grade but the moderate level of this winter field means she is not out of place.

Hawaii Five Oh @ Vinery Stud (Bm72)
Huon is a clear top pick on heavy going given his 50% win record on the surface and incredible 80% first-up strike rate. He has already won a BM72 at this track on heavy and comes off a slight class drop. The long spell is a minor concern but his fresh performances suggest he'll be ready.
She is consistent and placed last time on heavy in higher grade, so she's a place chance.
Action King has solid credentials at 1000m and a decent first-up record, but his heavy track form is a major unknown with only one unplaced start. He will need to handle the conditions to feature.
He has a heavy win on his record and is lightly raced. The poor last start was in much stronger grade.
