Barrier 1 is a plus on a track where inside gates hold a slight edge. This looks the most reliable winning chance in a moderately open maiden.

Ship Happens arrives in career-best form after a narrow defeat last start over a similar trip in similar conditions. Proven form at today's track and distance combination, plus strong overall soft-track record, make this a leading contender. The lack of a win despite 21 starts is a slight query but the upward trajectory is clear.
Five Of Us has been racing consistently at a similar level, with two placings from her last two runs including a narrow 3rd at Gold Coast.
Mister Blaze is the value play - a horse clearly building into form with a strong closing effort last start over a longer trip in the wet. A knockout eachway value proposition in an open maiden.

King Emperor produced a clear peak debut when second on Soft at this track over 1200m, showing fight from barrier 10. Second-up with Marshall riding well and a better draw, he maps to settle handy in a slow tempo. Soft form is proven and class edge over most maidens is clear.
Phoenix Legend brings the strongest recent form at the exact trip and track, finishing 4th on Soft here three weeks ago after a solid Toowoomba second. Barrier 5 and natural forward pattern put him top-three at the 400m in a slow race.
Red Samovar is beautifully prepared by Vandyke with in-form Thompson booked. Second-up after a fair Eagle Farm 1400m fifth and earlier Doomben placing. Draw is the query but Soft reduces wide-barrier penalty. Genuine winning threat if he settles midfield.
Barrier 2 and second-up status give her every chance to settle handy in a slow race.

Mt Franklin Hcp (C4)
Chassagne is the clear form standout dropping sharply in grade after competing in BM78-85 company. Last-start 10th in tough Randwick BM78 Heavy is forgivable as first-up. Thompson booking and class edge make her the most likely winner despite midfield map.
Double Whammy has been the most consistent of the lower-grade brigade, finishing 5th and 4th in recent BM starts including at this track. Holds a win at Sunshine Coast over 1800m and handles the wet. Class rise is a query but current fitness and local knowledge keep him in the finish.
He should lead uncontested in a slow tempo on an on-pace Soft track and has the best recent 600m time. However recent performances have been plain in lower grades and the class rise plus poor place strike rate temper enthusiasm. Include for the map edge only.
Barrier 1 and likely on-pace map suit the slow tempo perfectly. However Soft win drought and class jump mean he is overbet relative to Stranglehold's superior overall form and Soft wins. Solid each-way/place chance.
Stranglehold brings the strongest pure form into this Class 4. Back-to-back Soft wins at 1800-2000m, including a dominant BM65 success, plus a solid 4th in BM70 last start show he is peaking.
Rocked offers genuine each-way value. Drops to 51kg, draws barrier 2 and ran a solid 4th over this course and distance on Heavy last month. Winkers added may sharpen him.

Ratu Rum (Bm65)
Metal Man brings the strongest pure form profile into this BM65. His last-start Soft 7 Gold Coast 1000m win carrying 60kg is the ideal lead-in, and barrier 2 ensures he settles in the top three at the 400m where SC Soft winners come from.
Kiwi Raider is a genuine Soft-track specialist who won over this exact SC 1000m last start. The Gollan-Martyn combination is flying at 31% and the 56kg impost is a major plus. She maps to race handy and the Soft 7 will play to her strengths even with the slight class rise.
The Open failure first-up is a concern yet the drop to BM65, second-up stats and likely lead from barrier 3 keep him in the quinella mix on a Soft track that favours on-pacers.
Custo offers genuine each-way value.

Barrier 3 sets up nicely for the forward-biased Soft track profile.
Shahar is building form nicely with three placings from her last four starts and comes in with a red-hot rider in Ben Thompson who has excelled at this track. The class rise is a slight query but her trajectory and tactical barrier make her a genuine threat to the top pick.
Riva D'amor is the model of consistency with strong course and distance form and reliable top-3 finishes. The wide barrier is a slight negative but Soft ground neutralises much of that penalty at this track. A safe each-way type who rarely runs a poor race.

Bilson''s Tangle Hcp (C2)
Kilonova is the most credentialed runner in the race - a track/distance/condition winner last start with rising form and a jockey who knows the horse. The small class rise is a natural query but the horse is clearly progressing and fits the on-pace bias perfectly at Sunshine Coast on Soft.
Rochedale Hero was narrowly beaten in a near-identical race last time it contested this track and conditions, and has a winning first-up record.
Navy Nina is an ultra-consistent mare with a strong wet-track record and the meeting's most in-form jockey combination aboard. Her placing habit and suitability to today's grade make her competitive without last-start dominant form, and she's included as a strong place chance behind the top two.
Carbonara drops sharply out of Open grade races and has been racing competitively there, suggesting today's Class 2 assignment is well within reach.

Monster (Bm58)
Out Of Luck presents the strongest form case in this BM58 field, boasting an outstanding soft-track record (3-1-2 from 10) and a genuine class drop from Class 3 grade. Barrier 6 is workable and the map suggests he can sit forward, ideal for this track's on-pace bias.
However, her soft-track record is unremarkable and recent runs have been underwhelming.
The wide barrier (13) is a slight concern but Soft-track data shows wide draws are far less penalised here. Repeating course form at the same class level makes her a solid contender for another bold showing.
