Imperial Valley is the clear form anchor. He is the only runner in the field with a placing, having run second on Heavy9 at Echuca on debut. That race fitness, plus natural second-up improvement, gives him a decided edge over rivals who are either winless or unraced. His main risk is barrier seven, but in a seven-horse field he can slot into midfield and be within range at the turn.

Thesandmancan produced the best course-and-distance form on offer when fourth over this exact 1180m Gundagai trip on Heavy9. The overall record is poor and Brendan Ward is winless at the track, but the map and that Gundagai run make him a live danger.
He is yet to finish top three in six starts, and from barrier eight he is likely to settle back - a major negative on Gundagai's short Heavy straight where backmarkers have not won in the sample.
Waves Of Wisdom is the best credentialled debutant, with Matthew Dale and Brodie Loy combining well. Barrier 2 gives every chance to land in the first few pairs, which is important at Gundagai's tight circuit. He has no exposed form to test, but in a race full of winless and unproven runners, the stable confidence and map make him a live threat.
Barrier one is valuable at Gundagai on Heavy, particularly in the first race when the inside is fresh, and the bit lifter suggests the stable is addressing an issue. This is a speculative each-way value play.

Criterion Hotel (Bm58)
Best recent form and biggest class drop. She ran 3rd in a BM74 over 2000m on Heavy8 and now drops to BM58, albeit carrying 61kg. Barrier 1 should allow a soft run in a race lacking genuine speed. Winning strike-rate is moderate, but the race shape and class edge make her the most likely winner. Confidence capped for a low-grade country BM58.
Evokes has the strongest course-and-distance profile, having won over 1800m at Gundagai and finished second there over the same trip. He returns after a 38-day break with a solid fourth in a BM50 on Heavy9 at this track. Low weight and an inside barrier fit the Heavy template, though his overall winning rate tempers confidence.
Just Like Liam is the proven wet-track winner in the field with consecutive BM58 wins on Heavy9 in June. He failed to fire last start carrying 59.5kg, a weight he must carry again, and he is drawn wide. In a slowly-run 1800m he should land closer to the lead and is a genuine place threat, but the weight and last-start query keep him behind the top two.
Sunroe appeals as the most likely winner. He rates strongly on the key Gundagai Heavy filters: fitness, wet-track ability and on-pace positioning. He already won over 1700m on Heavy 9 here in June and has followed that with a third and fourth in BM58 company on Heavy going.
His only Heavy run produced a win, and he has won at BM58 level over 2120m on Soft6, suggesting the 1800m trip is within range. The class drop from BM66/Listed races is a plus, but he needs to leave behind two poor runs in July.

XXXX Gold Country Boosted Mdn Plate
Siyaasi is the clear form anchor despite being unwinning. He has placed in three of four starts, including a narrow second at Narrandera over 1400m on Soft7 and a second on Heavy10 at Wangaratta. With Brodie Loy retained and the race likely run at a slow tempo, he should be prominent throughout.
Broken Image is the most reliable each-way threat. He is winless but has a strong 1400m record and two placings from six heavy starts. His last two runs at Wagga on Heavy8 and Heavy9 over 1400m produced solid fourths, and barrier 4 should allow a midfield run with cover. He may need the top pick to falter, but he shapes as the clear second best in this ordinary maiden.
Step Quick is a wet-track specialist without a win, but his heavy form is eye-catching: four seconds from six heavy starts. The visor goes back on and the low 57kg helps, though the wide gate and poor only 1400m run are concerns.
Krasavitsa is a speculative overlay. The lightly raced filly has handled Heavy8 in both career starts and improved to fifth over 1400m at Wagga last time. From barrier 1 with 55kg and an in-form jockey, she can take another step forward.

Brilliant Beagle has been building towards a maiden win, finishing a close third over 1175m on Heavy 9 at Albury last start. That run fits today's Gundagai 1180m test and he has placed on heavy. He maps on-pace from barrier 5, carries just 55kg, and rider Cory Parish is in form. While winless from 17 starts, his last-start performance and wet-track suitability give him the strongest overall winning profile here.
Western Lights is a proven wet-track maiden performer around this trip, with seconds over 1180m here on Heavy 9 and 1200m Heavy 8 at Wagga last start. Bradley Vale reunites after riding her to the Gundagai placing. She maps forward from barrier 12 and should be in striking range at the 400m. The wide draw and 11-start maiden status are concerns, but her heavy-track pattern makes her a strong place chance.
She ran a close third over 1200m on Good and was not disgraced first-up at Newcastle; the second-up record includes a placing. Barrier 3 and Brodie Loy's steer help, but 59kg and no heavy-track experience are real risks on a testing surface.
The poor 1500m run last start can be forgiven as she is back to sprint trips.

Witch Of November is the most reliable wet-track and distance profile in the race. She has placed in four of eight heavy-track runs and finished second over 1000m on Heavy8 less than two weeks ago. Her fourth in a Class 1 over 1000m on Heavy9 also reads well. Witch maps to be within striking range and holds a fitness and weight advantage.
His only official heavy start produced a placing and his recent heavy trial was encouraging. He rates behind Witch Of November on wet-track and distance proof, but remains the most likely danger if he crosses and holds a forward spot.
Nefradite is the best of the fresh horses. She has won over today's trip on rain-affected ground and her 1000m record is strong. She is ranked third on class and upside, with wet-track inexperience keeping confidence in check.
Justbetryin' is a genuine overlay in an open Class 1. His third behind Witch Of November over 1000m Heavy8 at Wagga reads well on the exact heavy/trip combination, and he receives weight from the main hopes. Dale Cole's strong Gundagai record and the drop to 53kg improve his chances.

Sounds Of The Mountains FM96.3 (Bm58)
That race is a strong match for this BM58, and she should be improved second-up off that run. She has an 1180m win on her record and is drawn to hold a forward spot from barrier 9. Cory Parish is riding in good form.
She won over 1000m at Gundagai on Heavy9 two starts back before a solid second at Wagga on Heavy8. Her wet-track record reads one win and one placing from three starts, and barrier 1 should let her save ground around the tight circuit.
Lord Of Valor comes off a Heavy8 maiden win over 1175m, the closest available form reference to today's 1180m journey. He is lightly raced and open to improvement, with Blaike McDougall sticking. The main concerns are gate 13 on a tight turning track and the rise from maiden to BM58 company. If he can cross or find cover early, his heavy-track form and fitness make him a genuine top-three threat. Best kept to a place play.
Seguro is an improving 4yo who has thrived on rain-affected ground, winning a Wagga maiden on Heavy8 after placing on Heavy9. He draws low in barrier 3, carries just 56.5kg, and has a jockey who knows him well.

Gundagai Tigers (Bm58)
Mishima is the best wet-track fit for Heavy 8. He won a BM56 over 1400m on Heavy 9 last start and has a strong 11-start heavy record with two wins and five placings.
National Asset has won his last two on rain-affected tracks, including this exact course and distance on Heavy 9. His 1400m record and proven ability to win at Gundagai make him a major threat. The top weight and wide barrier are negatives, but he carries the same 60.5kg he won with here. Rates second on current form and wet-track suitability.
He should settle handily from barrier 4.
Bourbon Queen ran third behind National Asset over this 1400m Heavy 9 course last start and now meets that horse 5.5kg better. Wide gate and modest overall record mean she is a value each-way play rather than a top pick.
