Peace Seeker is the most reliable performer in a modest maiden. She still has to prove she can win, which is the main risk.

She is consistent, has the Maher stable behind her, and her recent runs are close to a winning standard.
Ted Percy has the most upside among the unexposed runners. His last two runs were quick and his finishing effort at Swan Hill suggests he can run on strongly. The concerns are his wide barrier, a back-of-field map and top weight, and the tight Mildura turns can hurt closers.
Clux Star should lead or sit one-out from barrier 1 on a tight track that rewards on-pace runners. She has been competitive in similar company and has the best early speed in the field.
She ran a creditable fourth at Stawell over 1300m on a similar track and has had three jump-outs since. Smerdon's stable is in form, and she should settle mid-field from a fair draw.

Little Gangster is the best form runner in the race. He was a strong third here at Mildura first-up, was only beaten about a length, and has trialled since. He is second-up, carries only 55.5kg and Mathrick is going well at the track.
His last-start eighth was ordinary, though, and he settles near the back on a tight track where leaders and handy runners dominate.
He trialled well enough eight days ago and draws barrier 5.
Stockman's Choice draws the rail and has twice finished fourth over a similar trip, which gives him a reliable base. The stable does well at Mildura, and the inside gate suits a horse that can settle handy.
Singapore Splash is the main speed in a race that Mildura's track tends to favour, and last start he ran home well from the back at Wodonga. That run was good enough to win this.

Mildura Motor Holdings (Bm62)
Marilyn's Edge has the barrier, the speed and the map. With no real competition for the lead in a moderately run sprint, she should dictate on a track that favours front-runners. She won last start and her recent runs have been consistent.
The trainer is in form. The negatives are the back-marking style and a moderate tempo on a tight track that suits the speed. It needs luck in running, but it should finish strongly and is a good place chance with some win appeal.
Inhabit gets a class drop and a light weight. She should be handy behind the leader, which is the right place to be at Mildura. The stable is flying.
Winning Aura is a distinct overlay. He won last start, has a good record on Good ground and over the distance, and has a strong record with his jockey. Back-marking at Mildura is a concern, and he rises in class, but at 27 he only needs a few things to go right.

Mildura & District Real Estate Mdn Plate
Handy type who draws the rail and has a solid record of finishing in the first three. Her best run was over 1000m at Tatura, when she was third after being hampered and racing without cover. She tends to lack a final kick and could be shaded by the leader, so she is best used for the place.
Her trials were only fair and the jockey combination has not won, so she rates a chance without being a standout. Barrier 4 gives her a good spot.
Best form pick on the way she has been running.
A genuine overlay on form. She has finished in the first three several times and was beaten a very short margin last month. The wide gate and a modest stable record at Mildura are negatives, and she is no certainty to find the line.

The Jade Benham MP (Bm62)
He won here last start, has won both his starts at 1400m and is mapped just behind the speed in a moderate-tempo race.
She has the right style for Mildura, with the barrier, the speed and the lowest weight.
A forward-mapped mare drawn well on a track that rewards that. She likes Good ground and her record at the trip is solid. Her recent form is below the level of the leading contenders and the combination has been ordinary, but her tactical position gives a chance of running a place. She can battle for second or third rather than win.
Best of the value runners. He was beaten by a very small margin by The Cable Guy here last start and now meets him with a substantial weight advantage.

Ausloans Mildura (Bm62)
Best form in the field at this track and distance. He gets class relief and a handy position from a middle barrier.
The wide draw, fading finishes when leading, and the step up in trip count against him.
A solid and honest type who has been running to a similar standard at this level. She gets a good inside draw and the stable is in form. Her wins have come on soft ground, and a midfield run on a leader-friendly track is a negative. She looks a sound place chance rather than a strong winning proposition.
She should get a handy position from barrier 5 and carries just 55kg. She has won at the track and was second last start.

Bet365 Position Payout (Bm62)
A fast tempo should give him a run late. The class jump and Mildura's lean to on-pace runners are real risks, but he is still the most likely winner.
A consistent mare who usually gets into the finish and has won at this grade. She should sit handy, which Mildura rewards, and she has a jockey who rides the track well.
A Maher-trained mare dropping into a softer grade over a distance she has won at. Recent runs at city level were poor, but the class drop and the new gear give her a chance. She will need luck from the back, with the tempo helping her but the track bias working against her.
He is in the best form of any longshot, with two recent wins, though in much weaker races. The class jump is steep, so this is a value each-way chance rather than a confident pick.
