My Ju Ju produced the best run in this field on debut at Kembla, leading and fighting on for second despite hanging out and doing plenty wrong. He has trialled well since and looks the clear speed of this contest with a slow tempo in his favour from the inside gate.

Paul 'Griffo' Griffin Memorial Mdn Plate
An unraced Hellbent colt who has done everything right at the trials, winning both recent hit-outs including one over 1000m at this track. Barrier 6 should see him settle handy in a race lacking speed. With no race-day form to assess, this rests on trial evidence and stable intent, and he is an unknown on rain-affected ground.
The most dependable type in a thin maiden, Diamond Dice has placed at two of her three starts and maps to settle on the speed, which is exactly where this track rewards runners. She has handled soft ground and is proven over the trip.
She has won two of three trials, including one on soft going, and the stable/jockey combination strikes at over 30%.
Angel Hair ran a nice race on debut, closing from midfield into fourth at Illawarra, and drops back to 1100m second-up with fitness on his side.

Redbank North Richmond (Bm64)
Mare in solid form who saves her best for the wet, having won twice from six on soft including a tough all-the-way win at Kembla on a Soft 7. She draws well in barrier 3 and should settle in the first four, the ideal position at Hawkesbury where the on-pace runners dominate on a rain-affected track. Powerful stable and an in-form rider. She doesn't win out of turn but this is her race.
She has the turn of foot to win this, but takes a riskier path by settling back in a race where Hawkesbury's wet surface strongly favours those up front, and she's untested on soft ground or beyond 1200m.
A track-and-distance winner who handles the wet, so conditions hold no fears. Her best runs stack up with anything here and she can produce a sharp closing burst, as she did when swooping late to win here and again at Nowra on soft. The knock is she settles well back, and Hawkesbury's wet track has been unkind to deep closers. Strong each-way claims if the leaders overcook it.
A consistent mare who saves her best for the wet, with two wins and four placings from nine soft-track runs.

Blossom Hair, Body, Face & Wig Boutique (Bm64)
Consistent five-year-old dropping back from BM72 company who maps to lead or sit second from a soft draw. A win and two seconds from his last five reads well, he has placed at this track and carries his weight. The obvious knock is a soft-track record without a win, though he has placed twice on rain-affected ground. Shapes as the one to beat.
Veteran who drops sharply in grade after a bold front-running fourth in a stronger BM78 at Kensington, where he led four lengths clear before being collared late. That form is well above this grade. Concerns are his age, a soft record without a win and no form over this trip, but as the likely leader on a track that rewards the front he is a live threat.
Promising three-year-old with only three runs, the best a strong win at this track on soft ground where he ran to a winning standard. He is improving, gets in light and maps to settle handy in a race that suits on-pace runners. The jump from maiden grade into a BM64 and the first try at 1300m are the main queries.
He drops slightly in grade and has a placing over the trip.

Forbes Super Mdn Hcp
He has led and fought in both starts, runs for a stable with a strong Hawkesbury record, and first-time blinkers should sharpen him. Gate four at a track where forward positions dominate is a big plus, and his dam's Group 1 wins from 1400m to 2000m suggest the mile is well within him.
She lands a good gate, maps to settle handy and Zac Lloyd is riding in great form. Her staying sire points to the mile being the right trip. A clear second pick with plenty of upside.
Boasts the best last-start performance in the race, a strong-closing third on a Soft 6, and her on-pace style suits a track where forward runners dominate. Two placings from three starts and a liking for soft ground are positives. The concern is the outside gate, which could force her to burn early petrol. Still a leading place hope.
The value play.

Dentavision (Bm64)
The form horse of the race. Ran home strongly for second over 1800m here last start, beaten half a length after being squeezed out, and was a Soft 7 winner at this track in May. Draws perfectly in gate two, handles give in the ground and is the most reliable finisher engaged. The query is 60kg at 2000m for the first time, but his staying pedigree and consistency make him the one to beat.
He was closing in a stronger Rosehill BM72 event last start and now drops back to a winnable grade. Savabeel's staying blood says the 2000m should suit, and his on-pace style is exactly what Hawkesbury staying races reward. Gai Waterhouse's team and Rachel King are both going well. The knock is a thin winning strike rate and no soft-track evidence.
The wet-track specialist of the field. Eleven soft starts have produced a win and seven placings, plus a heavy-track success. She drops out of a Showcase BM74 where she ran third at Moruya, draws well in three and has already won at the trip. Maps to settle handy and should be running on strongly on a surface she clearly relishes.
Eleven starts here have produced a win, two seconds and three thirds, including two minor placings over this trip. He won a Midway BM64 on soft ground here in August and has been competitive in stronger races since, at a class where his best recent run matches these rivals.

Fowler Civil Contracting Provincial Hcp (C1)
On-pace gelding who lands the inside gate and maps to be right there in a race where the handy runners hold sway on a soft Hawkesbury surface. Boasts a strong wet-track record and has been racing consistently at this level, closing well for third last start.
Top weight and a get-back style are genuine queries on a soft, on-pace-favouring track, and she is yet to race on rain-affected ground, but her form is hard to ignore and she must be respected.
The knock is the map: she settles near last, and deep closers have struggled on this soft surface.
Maps to settle handily and can capitalise if the tempo is genuine.

Richmond Club Midway (Bm68)
Suited to today's test. A winner at Hawkesbury over this trip and a consistent soft-track performer, she drops out of stronger fillies and mares company after an encouraging third at Warwick Farm. Drawn the inside gate with Kerrin McEvoy aboard, she'll be doing her best work late. Her get-back style is a slight concern given the track's lean to handy runners, but her class and track record entitle her to be in the finish.
The clear class runner and the one to beat. He won at Hawkesbury over 1400 last prep and was a close second at Bm72 level at Randwick before a forgivable failure over 1800 when a tearaway leader dominated. Dropping into a winnable Bm68, he suits 1500 and handles soft. The knock is that he settles off the speed, and Hawkesbury's 1500m races reward forward positions, so he needs the race run to suit.
Gets the chance to repeat her Newcastle win over 1500 on soft in a Bm68. A wet-track mare who has also won on heavy, she is well drawn in two and comes from a stable that knows how to win here. The concern is that she resumes second-up, a scenario she has never won in, and she races off the pace. Her last run was an excuse-filled seventh after being snagged back from a wide gate.
The knock is the rise in grade from Bm58 company and her lack of a placed run at 1500, but if she brings her recent form she's right in this.
