Melbourne Cup Carnival 2026 tips and results
Last year on Melbourne Cup Day our top pick won 6 of 10 races, including the Melbourne Cup. The Melbourne Cup Carnival is four days of racing at Flemington in early November: Derby Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Oaks Day and Stakes Day.
The Melbourne Cup itself is a 3200m handicap run on the first Tuesday in November. Derby Day brings the Victoria Derby for three-year-olds over 2500m, Oaks Day the fillies’ equivalent, and Stakes Day closes the week with the Champions races.
