Crystal Jade is the most talented runner in a very weak maiden. The major concern is his lack of wet track form, but on ability and simple map advantage (barrier 6, likely to stalk speed), he should prove too good despite the heavy surface query.

Now Perform is a zero-win mare but gets a huge chance from barrier 1 in a race without genuine speed. The tempo projects slow, and she can lead or sit just off it.
Bon Aurelia is a struggling mare but gets a decent draw and the lightest weight. Her only placing came on soft ground over 1400m but that was over a year ago. She is hard to trust but in this weak field and with a good map, she could snag a minor placing.
Clydebank Robber is the most reliable runner in the race with strong claims based on course and distance form and proven heavy track ability. He has placed at Bairnsdale over 2200m and on heavy going. While he lacks a killer instinct, this weak maiden is his best chance to finally break through.

Hoi Village draws the inside barrier and adds blinkers for debut, which should help it jump cleanly and hold a forward spot on this tight 1000m circuit. The Moody/Coleman stable is excellent with debutants and jockey Zac Spain is in good recent form. While the heavy track is a query, the tactical advantage and stable confidence make it the most likely winner.
The heavy track is a slight concern but she should handle it better than most. The wide gate is a drawback but she has enough speed to cross or take a sit.
The low weight and gear changes suggest they expect a forward showing.
The tongue tie first time could help her settle and finish better. The main risk is the wide draw and inexperience.

Admire Mercury is the most reliable form runner in this Maiden. He has placed in 2 of 3 starts, both on Heavy ground, and ran an encouraging 2nd at Moe last time. Barrier 5 gives him a good chance to settle forward and use Bairnsdale's short straight. While he still seeks a maiden win, his consistency and wet-track credentials give him a clear edge over many unraced or first-up rivals.
Earthing represents a class dropper from Group 3 level, albeit without much luck in two career starts. The Moody stable is always respected, and Zac Spain is in decent form. The main concerns are the lack of heavy-track exposure and first-up freshness, but his class advantage could be decisive.
She also ran 4th at Bairnsdale on a Heavy 8 over 1000m, suggesting this tight circuit suits. While her recent form includes 8th at Sale, she wasn't beaten far.
Lochend Princess is progressing with placings in her last two runs at Sale, including a narrow 2nd. The query is heavy ground debut, but her dam side offers some stamina.

Four ''N'' Twenty Mdn Plate
Colour Circle has been knocking on the door with two consecutive seconds on Heavy 8, including a narrow defeat at Bairnsdale over the mile. From barrier 3 he should get a perfect run, and with the heavy track suiting, he is the one to beat. The only concern is his maiden status, but he is clearly the most reliable chance.
Determinato has been a model of consistency with five placings from seven starts, highlighted by a strong second on Heavy 8 at Cranbourne. He maps well from barrier 5 and should again be in the finish. He may just lack the class edge over Colour Circle but is a solid each-way play.
Bank Heist is a veteran maiden who has shown ability on heavy ground with a second at Moe. From the inside barrier he can settle handily and may be the value in the race as a place chance. He rarely runs poorly but finding a win has been elusive.
Frank Whisper made a modest debut on Heavy 9 at Sale but is a well-bred Frankel colt from the M Laurie stable, which does well with its horses. He steps to 1600m and may appreciate the trip.

Little Richie Turf comes off a strong win over this track and distance on Heavy 8 just 32 days ago. He has outstanding heavy track credentials with 3 wins from 17 starts and is proven at the mile with 4 wins. Drawn well in barrier 7, he can settle handy and is the most reliable wet-track performer in the field.
Proven Record has drawn ideally in barrier 4 and shown she can handle wet ground, winning over 1600m on Soft 7 and placing on Heavy 10 last start. She drops slightly in grade from a Rest62 and is lightly raced with upside. Expect her to settle just behind the speed and be strong late.
Give Some Lip drops sharply in class after contesting BM70 grade. He ran a credible 4th at Sandown on Heavy 8 and placed on synthetic last time. Barrier 1 should allow him to hold a handy spot. However, his heavy track record is thin and he hasn't won since early 2025.
Miss Tramell has a strong wet-track profile with 0-2-1 from 4 heavy starts and a recent placing at Heavy 10. Her distance record is excellent with 4 placings from 12 runs at the mile. The wide draw is a concern but she can settle back and run on if the pace is genuine.

Winter Grace is the class runner dropping sharply from BM74 to BM56. She won well over this track and distance on Heavy 8 two starts ago, then was unplaced in much tougher company. The return to a suitable grade, proven wet track form, and ideal staying trip make her the strongest winning chance. The jockey retains the ride and the map suits.
Djockovic drops in class and has a good strike rate at the distance. However, carrying 63kg on a heavy track is a concern, and his heavy form is limited.
Avonview is a consistent performer who ran well here last start on Heavy 8 and won on Heavy 9 prior. He drops weight and should be in the finish again. Hard to win but solid place claims.
Luckyheleft has a phenomenal record at Bairnsdale with two wins and two placings from four starts, including a second over this course and distance on Heavy 8. His last run was poor but on a Heavy10 where many struggled.

O''Donnells Transport Lakes Entrance Cup 20th September (Bm56)
Auckland is a wet-track specialist with a win and place at Bairnsdale on heavy ground. Drops from BM66 to BM56, carries 59.5kg, and is reunited with Teodore Nugent who has a strong 27% strike rate on him. Maps to settle handy from barrier 9. Recent form includes a 3rd on Soft at Cranbourne.
Risky Whisky has been consistent in his last three starts, including a narrow 2nd on Soft and a 3rd on Heavy. He draws well (5) and will likely lead or sit on speed in a moderate tempo. The weight is a concern but he is the likely leader and can hold a place.
He drops from BM66 and draws well, but his jockey has a poor track record and his heavy performance is an unknown. Place chance at best.
Irresistible Sir won at this track and distance on Heavy8 two starts back, then was outclassed in BM70. He returns to BM56 with a light weight and proven heavy form.

Dyson Group (Bm56)
Headstock is the proven performer in these conditions, having won this exact race two weeks ago on a heavy track. He drops slightly in class from BM62 and brings strong heavy form. Despite the top weight and a 2kg penalty, his recent victory and tactical speed make him the horse to beat. Expect him to settle midfield and be strong late.
I'm Dynamite is the clear second pick based on his last-start second to Headstock on this track and distance in identical conditions. He boasts an excellent heavy track record and is racing consistently. Barrier 5 and a light weight (59.5kg) suit. He maps well and should be in the finish again, making good each-way value.
Electric Elvis brings strong recent form and a solid distance record, but this is his first start on a heavy track and he must overcome a wide barrier and top weight. He has been racing consistently in slightly higher grade and drops to BM56, which helps. However, the heavy track question and wide draw are significant risks, making him a speculative place chance at best.
Street Swagger is a proven heavy-track specialist with four wins on rain-affected ground. He drops in class and is second up, which historically suits. His last start on this track was only fair, but the drop back to a weaker grade and his excellent heavy record make him a serious value contender.

Palazzo Dama drops sharply in grade after contesting a Caulfield Open race. Drawn ideally and likely to race on the speed, she gets the perfect setup at Bairnsdale.
Sub Gauge has been racing consistently in similar grades, with a solid third on heavy at Moe last start. He handles wet ground well and is second-up, a configuration where he has a win and a place from five attempts. The wide barrier is a concern, but his tactical speed should allow a forward midfield spot. Looks a strong each-way chance.
Scholl Deep has an excellent heavy track profile with two wins and a place from seven runs. Her last two starts on heavy have been solid (4th and 5th) and she drops back to 1200m, which is a query but she has placed at the distance. The removal of several gear items could bring about improvement. She maps to settle handy and give a bold sight.
Ellmaknifico is an 8yo but has a strong first-up record and won fresh previously. He handles heavy ground and has placed at Bairnsdale over 1200m. In an open BM56, he offers each-way value if he runs up to his best first-up performance.
