Break The Line made a promising debut with a 3rd over this track and distance, then disappointed last start. From the inside gate he can position forward and improve.
Second-up with a light weight, she can settle midfield and run on.
Copperflange is the only horse likely to lead in a race with slow tempo, and at Port Augusta that's a massive edge. She ran 3rd over 1100m last time and 4th over 1200m here prior. The pace map is the key factor.

Sir Aali gets the nod as top selection due to the strong on-pace bias at Port Augusta and his ability to lead this field. His previous second over 1600m and fourth at this exact distance show he can compete, and the poor last run can be forgiven given the wide draw.
Tennessee Fire showed clear improvement when runner-up over 1396m here 14 days ago. From barrier 1, he will get every chance to sit just behind the leader and produce a similar effort. The step up to 1498m is a query, but the form line reads well for a maiden.
Sweet Kick has been knocking on the door with a string of placings, including a third over this course and distance in June. She lacks a killer instinct having never won, but her consistency makes her a strong place contender.
Badjawa is a speculative value play. He needs significant improvement but is worth a small each-way ticket as a roughie.

LJ (Bluey) King Memorial (Bm58)
Star Casino is the clear form runner with four straight wins, all at this track. He maps to lead or sit close, which is a massive advantage on this on-pace biased circuit. The 66.5kg is a concern but he has carried similar weights and won.
Otto's Dream drops sharply in grade after racing in BM70 company. He has a win and a second from two Port Augusta starts and should relish the drop to BM58. The 3yo is still developing and the map suits a forward spot.
Star Decorum is a track specialist who has placed in 3 of 5 attempts at this 1498m trip and won here two starts back. The 54kg is a big positive, but the booking of Wesley Cave is a major negative given his poor record at the track. If he can overcome that, he is a genuine place chance and could sneak into the minors.
Ghemme drops dramatically from Open class to BM58 and has the advantage of a recent 2nd place at this track in BM72. The jockey/trainer combo is firing at 30% and barrier 1 sets her up for a forward run.

Zatanna is the clear top pick based on recent form, track/distance record, and class drop. She led throughout to win at Port Augusta over 1200m two weeks ago and now drops from BM64 to BM56. Barrier 1 gives her every chance to dictate from the front.
She rises in class but has proven she handles this track well. Barrier 2 allows an economical run. Represents good each-way value.
Kahlua Girl is a capable Queensland-trained mare now racing in SA. Jockey Rawiller has a good record here. However, she has no course experience and may need to adapt to the track. Still, her class and recent form make her a place contender.
Uncle Barry has excellent course form with two runner-up finishes at this track and distance. He hasn't fired recently but gets gear changes including a tongue control bit. Each-way play.

Augusta Pest Control Hcp (52)
Hubristic is the most compelling runner based on recent form and track suitability. She won at this track two starts ago and followed up with a solid third over today's track and distance in a higher grade. Maps to settle on-speed from barrier 6, which is a strong advantage at Port Augusta. She drops slightly in class and appears ready to win again.
I'm Kenny is a Port Augusta legend with 11 career wins at the track, including two over today's 1498m. He drops from BM56 to Rest 52, which is a clear class advantage. Barrier 1 gives him every chance to lead or sit handy. If he finds his best, he is a major threat, but the risk is that age and recent poor runs mean he may not bounce back. Each-way value.
Bad To The Bone has found form at Port Augusta with a win and a 4th in his last two starts, both over 1100m. He steps up to 1498m today, which is a query given he hasn't won beyond 1100m. He carries only 55.5kg and maps to be on-speed from barrier 8. If he can handle the extra distance, he is a place chance in an open race. Not a strong win candidate but each-way possibilities.
He drops back to Rest 52 grade from Class 1, which is a significant class advantage. If he repeats that performance, he is a winning chance. Each-way value.

XXXX (Bm56)
Fox Dunnett is the standout on class and course form. He won back-to-back over this track and distance in BM72 and BM64 before a poor heavy-track run. Returning to Good ground in a lower grade, he maps to race handy and should take beating. Strong each-way chance and clear win prospect.
Overloaded comes off a career-best run when 2nd in an Open handicap over 2300m here. The class drop to BM56 is enormous and barrier 1 gives every chance to lead or sit off the speed. Distance query remains, but the recent staying test suggests he'll handle 1867m. Strong winning chance.
Ichibansan has the strongest course-and-distance credentials but recent form has tapered. He is dropping from Open company and maps to lead from barrier 2, which suits Port Augusta.
Lettemgo has been knocking on the door with two placed efforts in higher grades at this track. He drops to BM56, gets a good draw, and should race on pace.

Max Services Hcp (52)
Shikanic owns the best overall form at Port Augusta, particularly at this trip. His class drop to R52 and return to a firm track should see him bounce back. Expect him to race handy from barrier 7 and prove hard to run down.
Wandering Eye is hitting peak form and maps perfectly for the on-pace bias. His last-start second over the same track and trip was a career highlight recently, and he gets in well at the weights.
Exonumia is a reliable placegetter but struggles to break through. The inside draw and consistent recent placings suggest another top-three finish, but he rarely wins.
If he can cross from the wide gate and hold a forward spot, he has the talent to blow this field away.
