That was at the same track and near-identical distance, and he is confidently ridden again by Lee Magorrian for Peter Snowden. The step up to Class 1 is modest for a progressive So You Think galloper. Barrier 8 is the only notable concern, but he maps to hold a forward spot.

Brian Hilton Wyong Hcp (C1)
Savoonga was an impressive last-start winner at Wyong over 1350m on the same program My Country Boy won his maiden. She meets the top pick 2.5kg better and draws the inside gate. The query is 1600m after a prior midfield finish at the trip, but she is progressing through her grades and rates a strong threat.
He has placed in both Wyong starts, and his sire Proisir suggests the 1600m will suit. Top weight of 58.5kg and no previous run at the distance are negatives, but he should be finishing hard from a handy position in a moderate tempo.
Smichov is a consistent provincial galloper who was only beaten a nose in a Class 1 at Bathurst last start. He is yet to run 1600m or at Wyong, but barrier 3 and a low 57kg weight give him every chance to slot in comfortably.

Sky Racing Mdn Hcp
Borderfall made a promising debut when 2nd at Scone over 1200m and returns as a 4-year-old gelding from an extended break. Tom Sherry is riding at 25% in his last 20 and barrier 6 is workable. The lack of wet-track form and the 270-day gap are the only knocks, but his debut pattern and stable polish give him the strongest win chance.
Wyong maidens on soft are often won by fit, on-pace runners; the stable's debutants are typically ready to run well. Barrier 9 is a minor concern but not prohibitive.
Drawn gate 3 with genuine speed, he maps to be prominent, which is crucial at Wyong on soft. If he returns close to his best, he can run a strong race.
She has placed at 1100m, has three placings from eight starts and a first-up placing on her record. Country form and a 0-2 soft record keep her below the main chances, but she represents the best value in the race.

Rick Arnett Appreciation Stakes Provincial Mdn Plate
Anthropoid has raced in Group 3 and Open company, finishing midfield in better races. Confidence is tempered by a winless 5-start record and untried 1350m, but this is the clear form anchor.
What A Gent is the model of consistency without winning, with five placings from his last nine outings and a strong place rate on Soft. He was narrowly beaten at Port Macquarie last start and previously ran third over 1300m at Wyong, so the rise to 1350m is a logical fit. The return of blinkers and an inside draw improve his chances of controlling the race. The obvious knock is a 20-start winless record, but this is a winnable provincial maiden.
She meets a weaker maiden field at Wyong, has Dylan Gibbons aboard, and should improve sharply second-up. She is a place chance rather than the primary win hope.
Cape Douglas is building a consistent maiden profile. She ran third at Hawkesbury over 1300m on a Soft 6, one of the strongest recent formlines in this race. With only five starts, she has more upside than many of the older maidens, and Lee Magorrian is capable of finding a positive position from gate ten. She might not match the top pick's class, but her improving pattern makes her the third-ranked winning chance.
He has hit the board in his last two starts, including a narrow second at Port Macquarie on Soft 6, and barrier 1 gives him every chance to control the tempo at a track where on-pace runners dominate.

Jet Black Pavements Mdn Plate
Movie Star is the logical top pick. Waller rarely sends debutants to Wyong without expectation, and his two trials at Rosehill are encouraging. From barrier 2 Zac Lloyd can hold a forward spot, which is crucial at Wyong on Soft where the top-three-at-the-400m horse wins around 23% of the time. The main risk is simple inexperience and the 1200m test.
Harry Lime is a typical Waterhouse & Bott debutant thrown into a winnable Maiden. The stable's debut runners must be respected, and Regan Bayliss has a sound record at Wyong. From barrier 6 he can either press forward or take a trailing position; the unexposed nature is the key uncertainty. He is not as strong a winning chance as Movie Star or Secrets Within, but he is clearly the best of the remaining debutants.
Plagiarism is clearly the class runner, having competed in Group company including a 5th in a G2 on Soft6 over 1200m. He drops right back to Maiden grade first-up after being gelded. If he reproduces even a moderate version of his best, he should prove too good; the main risk is fitness or first-up flatness.
Dylan Gibbons is excellent at Wyong and is riding well. The concern is the wide draw; at Wyong on Soft, inside-to-middle barriers are preferred and the horse must use early speed to avoid being trapped deep.
His 2nd placing came over 1200m on Soft7 at Newcastle, exactly the profile that suits today. The query is whether he can finally win after running second and third in moderate maidens.
Duloc is the value runner. Sam Clipperton is riding well and the Waller stable has a strong hand. The outside barrier is a negative, but in a small field it is manageable.

Mercure Kooindah Waters Fairway To Finish Midway (Bm64)
Bold Design comes off a solid third in a BM68 at Wyong over 1300m, beaten under a length. Barrier 4 allows him to adopt the on-speed role that dominates here. The main risks are the apprentice hoop's quiet recent book and the first-time tongue control bit. He rates the main danger to the top pick if he holds a forward spot.
Charleroi is the class runner of the race, dropping from BM72 metro company to BM64 at Wyong. His wet-track record is good with one win and two seconds from five Soft starts, and he has previously placed at Wyong in a BM72. However, he has been unplaced in all three runs this preparation and barrier 11 forces a midfield or worse position, which is difficult at Wyong.
Spiritualistic is the strongest form and map combination. She ran a close second in a BM64 over 1300m on Soft6 at Hawkesbury last start, has three wins from five heavy-track starts and has placed in two of three soft-track runs. From barrier 6 she projects to be prominent at the 400m, exactly where Wyong winners come from. Dylan Gibbons has a strong record at the track and with this stable. The 1350m and ordinary Good-track form are minor queries.
Broadway Follies looks the value runner.

Domeland Mona Lisa Prelude (C6)
Just Glamourous has the best overall mix of class, distance form and current fitness. She has two wins from three attempts at 1200m, placed in four of her last five BM78 starts, and handles soft ground. The 56-day break and first try at Wyong are minor concerns, but her tactical speed and stable confidence should see her run a big race. She is the most likely winner.
Mrs Maree is in career-best form with consecutive wins and already owns a Wyong 1200m victory. She maps as the main on-pace factor at a track that rewards forward position. The query is class: her wins have come in Maiden, CL1, BM64 and BM72 company, so today is a clear step up. She rates the principal threat, but the rise in grade keeps her behind Just Glamourous.
Couples Retreat has been peppering the board at BM78 level, including a last-start third at Rosehill, and her metro consistency marks her down as a serious place chance. However, she is 0-for-4 at 1200m and winless on soft from seven attempts, while barrier 10 makes the task harder. She is the most reliable of the next tier but sits behind the top two on class and distance profile.
Raskol is the value play. She won narrowly at BM64 level last start and has the tactical speed to hold a forward spot from barrier 5, while Sherry has ridden her twice for two wins.

Wyong Leagues Group Cup Prelude (C6)
Won over 1900m on heavy at Canterbury in July and returns to 2000m where he has placed. He finished only a half-length behind Anythink Goes last start and meets that rival on 3kg better terms today. Barrier 2 and a forward position suit Wyong's on-pace bias. He is inconsistent, but his best form is good enough to feature prominently.
Best recent staying form of the race: he won a Rosehill BM78 over 2000m, then ran 3rd in the same class and distance. His soft-track record is excellent and his 2000m stats read 3:1-1-1. The negatives are the 60.5kg top weight, a midfield map on a tight track, and his age. If the tempo is slow, he may be giving too much start to the front-runners.
Clear on-pace threat from gate 4 in a race with only one genuine leader and a slow tempo. He is a soft-track specialist and won last start at Eagle Farm, while Lloyd knows him well. The query is the 2000m – he has not won past 1805m – and his BM78 defeat to Anythink Goes in June. Still, his tactical speed and raw strike rate give him the best chance if he can control the race.
Value runner off a consistent country preparation: four wins from his last nine starts, including a 1900m victory, and placed over 2100m twice. He carries only 55.5kg from barrier 3 and should get every chance from midfield. Soft-track stats show two seconds and a third, so he handles the surface even if winless on it.

She is the unknown factor with clear upside, drawn ideally in gate 1 and carrying just 55kg.
Smiling Prophet produced a sharp runner-up effort at this course on Aug 2 and has won twice from four attempts at this 1100m trip at Wyong.
She is lightly raced, has 2 wins from 2 starts at Wyong and should be on the speed from barrier 15.
