The most credible form line in the race by a clear margin. His Soft record reads 4:0-2-1 and he has placed at this track and distance. The maiden-status risk is real, but the evidence is overwhelming.

Mollie Fitzgerald 2025-2026 HRC Champion Apprentice Provincial Mdn Hcp
The clear improver of the race. Barrier 2 and a forward map suit a track that heavily rewards being top-three at the 400m.
Tyler Schiller's 14% record for the stable is a positive signal. Sound each-way value rather than a confident win play.
Kris Lees, a 2kg claim taking him to 55.5kg, and a rider striking at 14% at Hawkesbury add substance.

Micway Midway Hcp (C1)
An impressive debut winner at Gosford who steps up in class but drops to the bottom weight of 54.0kg with a 2kg claim. As a once-raced 3yo he has more improvement in front of him than anything else engaged, and the 13-day back-up means he arrives fit. The concerns are real - no wet-track experience, an unproven step to Class 1 and a rider out of form - which is why he sits second rather than first.
The one genuine leader in a field with no other confirmed pace, drawn barrier 3 and ridden by Tim Clark. Hawkesbury on Soft is unforgiving to backmarkers and rewards runners sitting top three at the 400m, so an uncontested lead is a real weapon here. His Soft record of 6 starts for a win and a placing is the soundest wet profile among the chances. Against him: he is first up from 148 days with an 0-for-2 fresh record, and he is an exposed 9-start horse with only one win.
He is lightly raced, in-form and freshened 20 days, matching the classy-progressive profile Hawkesbury Soft races reward. The 60kg and outside gate are genuine handicaps, but on the on-pace map he should be handy at the 400m.
He returns second up from a spell with blinkers removed for the first time, drops back to a sprint trip that suits, and jumps from barrier 1 in a race with only one confirmed leader - meaning he can be handy without spending petrol. His Soft record of 3 starts for a win and a placing is the best wet strike rate in the field and Tom Sherry wins at 23% here.

Darrin Voss Memorial (Bm64)
He now draws gate 2, retains his winning rider, and maps to sit on-pace where Hawkesbury Soft data rewards runners in the top three at the 400m. Hawkesbury record of 8:1-0-3 and one win from three at the trip confirm suitability.
Highborn Harry is the most reliable horse in the race on consistency - twelve thirds and five seconds from 37 starts - and his last-start 3rd here over 1800m on Soft reads well. But he has no wins from nine attempts at the trip, none from seven at Hawkesbury, and just three career wins at an 8% strike. He also maps behind them into a slow tempo at a track that punishes backmarkers.
The most lightly raced and highest-strike-rate runner in the race, with a wet-track profile that stands out - three wins from eight Soft starts and a win from his only Heavy run.
A pure tactical value play. She is the only genuine leader in a field the speed map projects to run slowly, at a track where Soft-track leaders win about 25% and runners in the top three at the 400m dominate. Her Soft record of one win, two seconds and one third from fifteen starts, plus the minimum 55kg and a 27-day freshen, gives her a live chance of controlling the race.

Happy Retirement Adam Carney Mdn Plate
The most credible form line in a weak Maiden.
The obvious improver. Esquire was third first-up at Wyong over 1100m and now steps to 1300m at his second run, which should suit a lightly-raced Exceedance colt from Ryan & Alexiou.
The other well-bred second-starter out of the same Wyong maiden. Roebuck Plane finished fourth, less than a length behind Esquire, and now gets in with the minimum 55.0kg, a 4kg swing on the topweight. The Fastnet Rock filly should appreciate 1300m at her second run, and Waterhouse & Bott keeping Rachel King reads as stable continuity.
Assessed purely on proxy factors as no form, pedigree or trial information is available - absence of data is not treated as a negative. Against that, barrier 11 for a first-starter on a slow-tempo Soft 6 where leaders and on-pace runners dominate is a genuine tactical hurdle, and the first-time lugging bit hints at a horse still learning its craft.
Arguably the strongest single formline in the race on class. Second-up off 28 days with the Maher stable and an in-form Clipperton, the step to 1300m should suit. The wide gate is the obvious flaw, but Hawkesbury's Soft data shows outside barriers are close to neutral here, so the map is workable.

Tommy Berry 2025-2026 HRC Champion Jockey Mdn Hcp
The best of the trial-form brigade. That is a solid, repeatable line through the race. Gate 5, a stable that gets maidens ready and a jockey in excellent touch add up. Lack of any race-day form is the reservation, so he rates a strong place chance rather than the top win pick.
A class-drop filly with a workable profile. Moscow Maid was thrown into Open grade first-up in March and was well beaten, but she has since trialled well at Rosehill including a Soft 7 heat win, and today's provincial maiden is a far more realistic assignment. The Hawkes stable, Schiller retained and a first-time nose band all point to intent.
Three soft-track trials since July have all been sharp and close-up, he is gelded now, and Rawiller from gate 2 gives him the on-pace map this Hawkesbury Soft surface rewards. Top weight and first-up status are the only genuine concerns.
The value angle in a race full of unraced and trial-only types.

Peter Smith Memorial Super Mdn Plate
The most reliable form in a shallow maiden. He placed at his only prior first-up run, is gelded, drops to 56.5kg and draws to sit in the first three from gate 5 - the profile Hawkesbury on Soft rewards most. Short but justified.
Any return to that level wins a provincial maiden comfortably.
Barrier 3 lets Rachel King take a forward spot, which the Hawkesbury Soft data says is the key.
Profitabelle presents the classic lightly-raced Baker first-upper: a trial win at Rosehill on 7 August, a Soft 6 trial second before that, and a soft-track record of 1 start for a third placing when fresh at Randwick. The class drop from Open back to maiden grade is significant.
His soft record shows 2 starts for a second placing, and both August trials were on rain-affected ground at Warwick Farm and Rosehill. The Maher stable, the gelding operation and a fortnight-old trial suggest a horse primed first up.
The overlay of the race. Blinkers coming off with a first-time tongue tie is a purposeful change, McEvoy stays on, and barrier 2 gives him the forward position Hawkesbury demands. The 59kg is the main brake.

Pioneer Services Rowley Mile
The most reliable horse in a race full of question marks. Narbold has hit the frame in nine of his last ten and his 1600m record (9:1-5-2) is the best distance profile engaged. He was beaten a whisker at Rosehill last start on Soft 5 in Bench.100 grade and a whisker again over this trip at Randwick two back. Down to 54kg with Tommy Berry, who strikes at 20% here. The obvious knock is his win conversion, but on a track where current form and distance form are the key winning markers, he is the soundest form proposition.
The negatives are real: 60.5kg top weight, first-up from 130 days, and a sharp drop back from 3200m to a mile at a track that punishes backmarkers. McDonald's 31% Hawkesbury strike rate and the sheer class edge keep him a genuine threat.
Consistent mare who maps beautifully from barrier 5 for a track that rewards runners projecting top three at the 400m. The Maher/Gibbons combination strikes at 17%.

Brad Widdup 2025-2026 HRC Champion Local Trainer (Bm64)
She has won two of four including on Heavy 9, confirming she handles wet ground, and maps to sit on or just off a moderate speed from gate 3 — precisely the top-three-at-the-400m profile that wins 22% of Soft races here. Lightly raced and improving; the 1300m step-up is the only genuine query.
A genuinely progressive galloper with just three starts, a maiden win and two placings. Berry's engagement for Widdup is a clear intent signal and the rider is a 20% strike at this track. Gate 8 permits a handy, forward spot. The class rise and 1300m debut hold him just below the top pair.
The most reliable runner in the race and a legitimate winning threat, but the profile is a placegetter's. Rawiller and gate 4 guarantee a forward spot on a leaders-biased surface.
Light at 55.5kg from gate 5, she maps to sit on or just off the speed — exactly the position that wins 22% of Soft races here.
