Glenealy Hcp (C5)
The form horse at this level with a win and three thirds from his last four Class 5 runs over 1200m. The rider change to E C W Wong and barrier 12 are significant negatives, and the 30 August trial was plain.
The handy racing style works with Sha Tin's on-pace bias, and Teetan stays on.
He gets barrier 5, a fast tempo to close into and only 51kg.

Duddell Hcp (C4)
His Class 3 fourth at this track and distance in June was a stronger performance than anything else in the field, produced with a vet-noted issue. Now dropping to Class 4 with a record of 1 win from 3 first-up starts, an inside gate and the leading rider aboard. The 61kg is the main concern but is less punishing over 1000m, and a leader from barrier 2 fits the Sha Tin sprint bias precisely.
Concerns are the weak recent trial, a rider in a lean patch and racing manners noted by stewards. With a fast tempo expected he can settle just behind the leaders and use his finishing strength.
Third to Rapid Phantom last start from the widest gate, and today swaps barrier 14 for barrier 1 with a light weight. The record shows 3 starts for 1 third, so he is a maiden but with clear upside at this level. On-pace running style from the rail matches the Sha Tin sprint bias. The rider combination is the main drawback but the conditions shift is significant enough to rate him a genuine place chance.
Last start he raced wide without cover from a wide gate and the run can be forgiven. He is drawn better today and will likely lead, which is the winning position in Sha Tin sprints.

The HKSAR Chief Executive's Cup
He will sit outside or just behind Copartner Prance in a slow tempo and should sprint clear at the 400m. The 61kg and lay-off are the only queries, and neither outweighs a class gap of several lengths.
He is 7 wins from 17 and 4 from 10 at the track and distance. His quiet soft-track trial and limited first-up record are concerns, but Teetan stays on and 52kg from barrier 4 gives him every chance to fill the place behind Ka Ying Rising.
Copartner Prance has the race shape in his favour. He is the only genuine leader, carries 52kg and should get a soft lead ahead of Ka Ying Rising. His Group 3 third over 1600m in May and a winning Conghua trial suggest he is fit and competitive at this grade.

The 61kg top weight and barrier 12 are real concerns, but Purton's versatility and the horse's proven ability to finish strongly from the back mitigate a fast tempo. Good track record 18:2-1-2.
A fast tempo from two genuine leaders will bring his closing burst into play. Safest place proposition and a genuine winning chance.
All Are Mine returns after a Class 5 win at Happy Valley where he stormed home from well back. His 1600m record shows one win and one second from three starts, and the fast tempo predicted here should again bring him into the finish.
Barrier 1 and a fast tempo tick the boxes for a swooper.

Stunning Bundle is the most likely winner on form trajectory rather than exposed results. His debut 3rd behind a solid Class 4 field came with traffic near the 300m, and Size horses routinely improve sharply at their second start. Barrier 4 with an on-pace pattern is the ideal Sha Tin 1200m setup.
Island Buddy is the most reliable exposed form runner. He has won twice on good turf at this course and distance and placed at his last three starts in Class 4. Barrier 1 and his early speed let him hold a forward rail position, the winning profile at Sha Tin sprints. The 61kg burden and a winless first-up record temper enthusiasm, and the fast tempo from two rival leaders may leave him vulnerable late.
The 53.5kg is a big asset. The concern is the setup: a wide draw, an apprentice out of form, and a first-up statistic that includes a wide-racing 9th from barrier 13.
Riding High is the clear value in the race. Each-way is the right play given his placing strike rate.

His last-start defeat had a clear start excuse and two recent trial placings confirm fitness. The on-pace pattern from barrier 7 fits the strong Sha Tin sprint bias.
Spicy Standard brings the strongest Class 4 form in the race, with two narrow seconds carrying 61kg from wide draws earlier this year, and has since held his own in Class 3.
Inside draw and leader style suit Sha Tin, so he should run well again.
A fast tempo from two leaders is the scenario he needs, and 53.5kg helps. The backmarker bias and weak jockey keep him at value level only.

Winning Ovation is the form horse: four wins from six at Sha Tin 1400m, two of them in Class 2 this season, and he returns from two sound Group 3 efforts where he was beaten half a length over a mile and raced wide without cover at this trip. Barrier 4 and an on-pace style fit the Sha Tin bias with a moderate tempo. Still the most likely winner.
Six Pack is the logical main danger.
Max Que's last-start Class 1 second over a mile, beaten under a length with a sharp final 600m, reads well against a Class 2 field. He has placed in four of ten starts at Sha Tin 1400m and draws barrier 3. He does get back in his races, which is a drawback under the Sha Tin on-pace bias, and the jockey is out of form, so he is best used as a place runner to fill the frame rather than as a winning chance.
Drombeg Banner is the overlay. His Class 1 second at this trip in February at similar weight shows he remains competitive at this level.

Grand Patch is the form horse. With two leaders promising a genuine tempo, he can be delivered into the race by C Y Ho, who is riding well.
However he is not the top pick because the trial on 28 August was poor, his rider is out of form, and Master Lucky beat him at the June meeting.
Master Lucky is a genuine Class 4 1400m performer with three placings from three starts at the course and distance, including a last-start win over Joyful Joy.
Golden Win is the value runner. His earlier form was poor, so the improvement must be confirmed, and the rider booking is weak.

His last two Class 3 1400m runs were a win and a narrow second under 60.5kg, and he drops 1kg today with Atzeni back aboard. The positional bias favours leaders and the moderate tempo suits a controlling ride.
However, he meets a big weight rise, has produced slower raw times than the top pick and was beaten on his one Firm-track start at the trip.
The problem is the map: he gets back from a wide gate on a track where on-pace runners dominate, and his trials were unremarkable.

Early speed rank 5 allows him to sit just off two genuine leaders in a predicted fast tempo, which suits a horse who finished 2nd from 6th over 1000m. Rising in class first up is the main risk, but the profile of an improving, lightly raced sprinter with Purton up is the most likely winner.
The speed map shows two genuine leaders and a fast tempo, which is exactly the shape he needs. The Atzeni/Man combination fires at 23%.
He can lead or sit second from barrier 5, which aligns with the on-pace bias.
