Ran the best race of any runner here last start, charging from midfield to be beaten a whisker over 1700m at this track. Steps to 2000m, drops a shade in class, draws perfectly in barrier four and picks up a leading rider. Still a maiden after six starts and his one second-up run was poor, but his recent pattern is to settle handy and he looks the one to beat on form.

His trainer has a fine record at Warrnambool. Main danger but no value.
Honest front-runner who led and stuck on for third at this track over 1700m last start, and who has now placed twice here. On a circuit that strongly rewards on-pace runners in staying races, his early speed is a real weapon, and he gets weight from the older horses. All his form is on heavy ground though, and at 2000m on a good track he may be vulnerable late.
Improving stayer who ran a sound fourth over 2000m at Casterton before a closing third at Hamilton last week. He draws barrier two, an advantage in staying races here, and maps to race on the speed, the style this track favours.

By far the best-credentialled runner in the field, having finished close up in black-type company over this trip at Flemington and again at Sandown-Lakeside — form well above maiden grade. He has three starts at 1400m for a placing and resumes with sound jump-out work. He settles just off the pace and a moderate tempo should suit. Clearly the one to beat.
Her trainer has an excellent record at Warrnambool and this jockey-trainer pairing is firing. The step up to 1400m first time is the obvious query, but she has upside and maps to sit handy.
Unraced but has trialled in excellent style, winning two Flemington jump outs and placing in another. She looks forward enough to run well on debut, though a wide gate leaves her needing luck from the draw.
Improving three-year-old who worked home well for second at Ballarat last start after settling back, and his only other run was a handy fifth when he missed the start. The inside draw is an asset at Warrnambool and he is open to further improvement second-up.

Cassign Mdn Plate
He went within a whisker of winning over this trip here last start and maps to settle just off the speed from an ideal inside draw, exactly the profile this track rewards. The risks are obvious: still a maiden after three runs and both his runs on good ground were plain. Even so, his recent form is clearly the best in the field.
He is a progressive three-year-old from a top stable, fitter at his second run back. The concern is his get-back style at a track where leaders and handy runners dominate, so he will need a genuine tempo and a clear run in the straight.
An improving filly who caught the eye on debut, closing hard from last after drawing wide. She gets a 4.5kg pull from the older horses, lands the inside gate and is prepared by a stable that wins its share here.
Hard-fit mare who looks the likely leader and could get an easy time in front with little early pressure in this field. Her recent maidens have been sound and her better efforts are competitive with the fancied runners, yet she is one of the outsiders. The knocks are real: seven starts without a win and a stable that has not had a winner from its last twenty runners. A value play only.

Baillie's Warrnambool Self Storage (Bm62)
Won a stronger race at Geelong last start, sweeping home from midfield, and now drops in class which suits. He handles good ground well and draws the inside gate, giving him the strongest form line in the race. The main knocks are a sharp weight rise from that win, a duck at 1200m, and a get-back style on a track that leans to on-pace runners.
Improving mare who won her only 1200m start last time and is second-up today, a stage at which she has already won. She maps to settle handy, which suits this track's on-pace lean, and her trainer goes well here.
Her stable and jockey combine at a strong strike rate and the rider goes well at this track. She has not raced at 1200m and all her form is on softer ground, so the trip and a firmer surface are the risks.
Fresh runner whose two career wins are both at 1200m and who has twice placed here, so the trip and track are ideal. He has won first-up before and his stable is in form. He settles off the pace, which is against this track's on-pace pattern, and his jockey is without a recent winner, so he needs the race to set up for a closer.

Harrington Design & Construction Mdn Plate
Comes off the best staying-on effort in this field, closing to run second over 1000m at Casterton. Adam Chambers is a strong 20% at Warrnambool and has her fit for start two. She settles just off the speed and the fast tempo expected from a pair of leaders should let her finish over the top. Gets in light at 57.5kg and looks the one to beat.
Drawn to get the gun run in barrier two with John Allen aboard, and a recent jump-out says he is forward. The knock is that his best form is several months old and the stable has been quiet — respected but not top-picked.
A Moody-Coleman geldine with a clear second-up edge after showing sharp early dash on debut. He loomed and faded first-up but dropping from 1200m to 1000m should help him see it out. He stays on the speed from gate four — the prime spot at Warrnambool — and the stable-jockey pairing is a potent local one.
With two confirmed leaders engaged, the fast early tempo should play right into her hands and she has been consistently close at this trip.

Warrnambool Mazda (Bm62)
Consistent on-pace gelding who has placed in stronger races than this at his last three starts, including a fast-time second at Morphettville two runs back. Maps to settle handy, which suits a track where leaders and on-pace runners dominate the sprints. Carries top weight but is the most reliable, proven performer in the field and John Allen is a strong booking.
Draws the inside gate and shows speed, so he should be prominent. The knocks are the big class rise from a maiden, a first outing on turf and a stable yet to win at Warrnambool, plus an unclear rider booking.
Freedman-trained gelding who has been consistent in this grade, finishing second at his last two starts over the trip, including a strong closing effort at Echuca. Races best when saved for one run and the quick early tempo should suit. The concern is his get-back style at a track where horses settling well off the speed rarely win.
A natural leader drawn well at a track where front-runners win at a strong rate, with in-form Linda Meech aboard after the pair combined for a win last time out.

Precise Painting And Decorating (Bm62)
The class runner of a modest field and the one to beat. He's placed in five of eight starts and his best form stacks up at this level. He races on the pace, draws ideally in gate three and has John Allen up, which suits the way Warrnambool plays. The query is the surface, as all his winning has come on wet ground, but he's lightly raced and open to improvement.
He's improving with racing and comes from a top stable. The knocks are the jump from maiden grade to a BM62 and a wide draw, and he can be slow to muster, so he'll need things to fall his way.
An honest, consistent type with a good record here. He resumes second-up after a solid third at this track and gets the inside gate, which should see him settle handy in a race that rewards on-pace runners.
A lightly raced five-year-old whose better runs rate strongly - he won at Warrnambool over this trip and was close up in a Pakenham BM62 at the distance.

TAB (Bm62)
Brings the strongest recent form line in the race. She chased Sephia home over this course and distance last start and meets that rival 2kg better at the weights today, with Linda Meech taking over in the saddle — a jockey with a strong record here. She handles good ground and maps to settle in a handy midfield position, close enough to strike. Consistent type who often finds one better, but everything points to her turning the tables.
She is an improving mare with a strong record at Warrnambool. The knock is she rises 2kg for that win while her main rival Limosa gains a weight swing, and she is yet to race on a good track, with all her form on soft and heavy ground. Still clearly a leading chance with the stable going well here.
A lightly raced improver who ran a strong second at this track and class last start, closing from well back. With only five starts behind him he is clearly on the up, having won his maiden over 1700m earlier in the preparation, and he keeps Brad Rawiller, who has ridden him to a win. The concern is his get-back style on a track that rewards on-pace runners, but his upside makes him a live each-way hope.
A good-ground performer who has been running on unsuitable wet tracks at his last few starts. He won at Colac and raced honestly at Ballarat on good going earlier in the preparation, and today's Good 4 should be much more to his liking. Dean Yendall, who has two wins on him, rides, and he maps to settle handily.
