Won his maiden last start over 2050m at Wodonga, running to a strong standard to score by a length and a bit, and that is the best recent form in this field. He is race-fit and the step to 1900m suits. This is a thin Class 1 with several maidens, so the rise in grade is not as steep as it looks. The knock is his quiet stable and no wins from five on good ground.

Coprice Plate (C1)
Improving four-year-old who produced the best run of her short career when second in a Class 1 over 1820m at Griffith last start, beating a couple of today's rivals. She is on an upward curve and the good track suits. The concern is that she does her best work from off the pace on a track that heavily favours forward runners, so she will need the race to fall her way.
The main speed influence in the race, which is a real asset at Leeton where leaders and on-pace runners dominate. She has been competitive in stronger grade, placing in a BM58 at Forbes and in a sprint at Wagga, and she was only about four lengths away at her past two. The query is her plain recent form and a first try at 1900m.
She is still a maiden but has been going well - second at Albury and third in the same Griffith Class 1 where Misil Beauty ran second - in a race that lacks depth. She draws well in barrier two and can settle handy, and she gets a jockey who rides this track with success.

Golden Apple IGA Country Boosted Mdn Hcp
Placed first-up last preparation after leading at Albury and has the speed to control this from a good gate. The query is whether she sees out the trip after fading late over 1000m last time, but fresh and with a strong local rider she is the one to beat.
Maps to sit just off the speed, the ideal spot at Leeton without the pressure of leading. Sharpened by a recent trial placing and has been consistent over 1000m at this level. A leading jockey takes the ride and the wide gate is no disadvantage here. Still to place in three starts, but this is a winnable maiden and she should be in the finish.
Produced the best closing effort in the field last start, charging from off the pace into third at Queanbeyan. An improving three-year-old who can capitalise if the leaders overdo it in a fast-run race. Drawn the inside but typically settles back, so she will need luck; the track's on-pace lean is the obvious knock.
Honest on-pacer who settles in the leading group and gets every chance from gate two at a track that suits forward runners. Placed over this trip and well treated at 53kg with a claiming rider.

Frosted Amber is the one to beat on track fit. She maps to settle right on the speed, and Leeton has been a graveyard for horses coming from off the pace while forward runners dominate. She has done her best work on Good ground — all three placings — and drops out of a far richer Super Maiden into this ordinary bunch. The knock is eight goes without a win from a quiet stable, so she is a win play rather than a bank.
Tassy Fox brings the strongest body of form into this and has been a model of consistency, placing six times from thirteen and five times from eight at the trip. She handles Good ground and a leading rider is engaged. The concerns are a wide draw and two flat efforts at 1400m before a freshen, so she is taken more for the minors than the win at a track that rewards the speed.
The unknowns — a five-year-old debutant, a wide gate and no confirmed rider — stop him topping the list, but he must be respected.
Lull Us Away appeals as the each-way value. She arrives off a second beaten a head and a closing third at this level, is drawn perfectly in gate one, and her trainer's only runner at the meeting is one-for-one here. She can settle handy and get first run on the closers.

Guilford Transport Country Boosted (Bm58)
The one to beat on form. She produced the best run in this field last start, surging from the back to win, and she has already saluted at Leeton over the mile. She does concede ground to the speed, and a slow tempo on this tight circuit is a genuine query, but her closing style and clear class edge make her the most likely winner.
She maps to lead on a slow tempo at a venue that heavily favours on-pace runners, and a soft lead could make her very hard to run down. The knock is that she has never won at the mile and keeps getting caught late, so she is respected without being my top pick.
He has been around the mark over the mile and shapes as the best of the forward runners behind the leader. The lack of a winning habit and a stable going through a quiet patch are the concerns, but he is a genuine top-three chance.
A value play rather than a likely winner.

Leeton Soldiers Club Stan Axtill Memorial (Bm82)
The one to beat on recent evidence. She rolls forward from an inside gate, exactly where the Leeton winners have come from, and brings the strongest winning form in the field after two wins last preparation. The query is the sharp rise in grade out of restricted company and a last-start fade after leading, with her best runs coming on rain-affected ground.
She handles good ground and won a recent trial, so there's room to improve. The knocks are a poor second-up record and a plain latest run, and she settles behind the speed on a leader-friendly track.
The value play. He's a course-and-distance winner who beat a field of this class two starts ago and gets a rider with three wins from eight rides on him. He's the class runner of the field, but he's a nine-year-old carrying top weight and gets back in a race where the track has been favouring on-pace runners, so he needs the race run to suit.

Thinkwater - Leeton Hcp (C2)
Party Boss drops out of much stronger three-year-old company into a plain Class 2 and brings the best recent form in the race, closing hard for a close third and a fast-finishing fifth at far tougher levels. He settles where the race is won at Leeton and a recent trial keeps him sharp. The shorter trip is the query, but on class and finishing power he is the one to beat.
Melodee Rose is lightly raced and lightly weighted, and her best run — a last-start win — was a strong staying-on effort. She draws well in barrier two and the trainer is going nicely. The concerns are a four-month break with only a jump out behind her, a jockey yet to find a recent winner, and a rise in grade.
Cashbook will roll forward from an on-pace position, which is exactly what this track demands, and he has two wins and two placings over the trip. But he carries top weight of 60.5kg, his recent form is plainly declining, and his stable has not produced a winner in its last 20 starters. Worth a place-only play given the map.
Simone's Choice is the likely leader, and Leeton is a track where forward runners dominate and backmarkers simply do not win. She led and was only beaten half a length last start, and her record at this trip is sound.

Southern Central Engineering (Bm58)
He has run to a winning standard in this company, maps to settle handy, and is still improving with only six starts behind him. The knock is that every run so far has come on wet ground, so a first look at a good surface and top weight of 59.5kg are genuine queries. Still the most likely winner.
Maps as the leader, which matters a lot at this tight track where the speed horses dominate. He has been holding his form in similar and slightly stronger company and his regular rider is back aboard.
The best closer in the field and a three-time winner over the trip. She charged home for second in stronger company at Wagga last start and can also lead, as she did when winning at Narrandera. The problem is the map: she tends to settle well back, and horses off the pace simply do not win at Leeton. If she lands closer she is a serious threat.
He is one of only two genuine speed runners and should be prominent at a track where on-pace types dominate and wide gates hold up. His trainer has a strong record here and he trialled sharply.
