His Scone third was the best run in this field and he closed strongly at Tamworth over a distance short of his best. Aaron Bullock for the Messara stable is a huge intent signal, and the opposition is a collection of well-exposed non-winners.

Linda's Princess brings the most reliable recent form of the exposed horses, having been beaten less than two lengths at each of her last three starts including over the mile at Newcastle. She handles good ground and the extra distance suits.
Fashion Spree is the on-pace horse best placed to exploit Taree's leader-friendly pattern. Her Tuncurry second two runs back was a good effort and her sixth last start can be excused after being ridden back from a wide gate. From barrier 5 she should sit third or fourth and give a strong sight.
Atadcheeky is the overlooked runner whose Taree second in August was as good as anything in this race when he raced on speed. From barrier 3 he can get forward and use the track's on-pace lean.

Rubinsky is the form horse and the most likely winner. Her half-length second at Coffs Harbour after racing three wide was the strongest recent run in this field, and she has repeatedly performed at a level that wins country maidens.
She is the main danger and could easily be the winner if she jumps and takes a spot behind the leaders.
Dream A Little brings the second-best proven form in the race. Her Gunnedah effort on a Good surface was strong enough to win most country maidens and she is back on preferred going with a top jockey aboard.
However, every start has been on rain-affected ground, his Scone trial was plain, and from barrier 13 he faces a speed duel with at least two other leaders on a drying track.
Harvey's Turn is the contextual value play. He is the lone genuine leader in a race where front-runners have dominated at Taree, and he has already run a place here over this trip. His Wyong flop can be forgiven as a gear experiment, and his Newcastle run before that was competitive.

With two speed horses to sit behind he gets the perfect stalking run on a leader-friendly track.
Ex Wife is a genuine Taree specialist with two wins from two visits over this trip and a strong record on good ground. First-up he ran a sound third in a Class 3 behind Rich Star after being crowded and forced wide, and he should be sharper now. He has enough gate speed to settle midfield or better, which is where Taree winners come from.
She drops to 55kg against horses carrying up to 60.5kg and gets a fast tempo to run at, which is the scenario she needs. The concerns are real: she is a deep closer on a track that heavily favours on-pace runners, she rises in grade and no rider is confirmed. She is a legitimate place chance who could win if the leaders overdo it.
This mare is lightly raced, has won first-up before, has only ever raced on good ground and carries the minimum weight.

Taree Cup Calcutta @ The Railway Taree Mdn Hcp
Talk About Layla maps to lead a moderately-run maiden on a track where front-runners are hard to catch, and she has already shown she handles Taree with a second over this trip and a strong third in a stronger maiden here.
Piolla produced one of the best efforts in this field last start when fourth on debut at Coffs Harbour, running to a winning standard despite an awkward beginning and a dropped rein.
His form deserves respect, but his two runs were sound rather than outstanding, and he maps to be well back from an inside draw on a track where backmarkers struggle badly.
The step to 1313m is the main question but the trial form and breeding suggest she will handle it.
She is the quickest beginner in the field, draws the ideal mid gate to sit just off Talk About Layla and gets a weight relief.

Krambach Cup Friday 16 October (Bm58)
Prince De Vega gets the run of the race from barrier 7 as the best-credentialled forward runner, at a track where horses in the first three at the 400m win a huge share of races. His Coffs third first-up was a strong effort from well back, and his Bathurst 1400m maiden win over this trip was a genuine winning-standard performance.
However, she has a habit of finding one better, has never won on good ground, draws an inside gate that underperforms here, and is rising in class.
Pearl Pendant is the improver of the race. Her Coffs maiden win was a genuine winning-grade performance and she is a lightly raced filly on a light weight with upside. The stretch to 1400m and the inside draw are the questions, but she has the racing pattern to sit close to the speed and the ability to hold a place if things go smoothly.
Explosive Tycoon is a forgotten horse after a luckless run last start, but his previous Taree 1400m second in Class 3 company was a strong performance and he has placed in every start at this track and distance.

Taree Cup Friday 16 October (Bm66)
Gemtiki's last three runs are the best form lines in this race: a Newcastle fourth over the mile at a winning standard, a narrow second here, then a dominant win at Muswellbrook. Two wins on good ground, a light weight and Aaron Bullock, who has never been beaten on her, aboard.
Bellevue's recent form reads badly but every one of his poor runs has been on rain-affected ground, where he is winless in six. On good tracks he has two wins and a placing from four, including a Wyong second in stronger BM64 company that was a genuinely good run. He sheds 4.5kg from his last start, draws to race handy from gate 2 and the stable is in form.
Creative Righteous has been racing well this campaign, winning a Class 1 at Tuncurry then finishing a close second at Tuncurry over the mile last start after sitting in the box seat. He races on the pace, which is where you want to be at Taree, and gets an inside gate. The class rise and 59.5kg are concerns and he has not yet proven himself on a firm track, but he is consistent and should be in the finish.
He's A Copy Boy is a proven Taree mile performer with two wins and three placings from eight starts here over this distance, and he won a BM66 at Grafton over 1610m in July. His Casino Open second was a genuinely good run, though at a light weight.

The form horse in the race on a straight class read. Dropping to Class 3 with a proven Taree and good-track record, she only has to overcome the topweight.
Ellofadude has been consistent without being dominant, his last-start second at Gosford in Bm64 grade being an honest effort rather than a standout one. He rises in class, draws the rail at a track where inside gates struggle, and his second-up record is a placing from two attempts. Bullock is a big plus.
Purple Rose maps to lead uncontested and that is a real weapon at Taree over a sprint trip. Her Muswellbrook win on a good track showed she can control and kick, and the drop back from 1400m to 1263m is a plus after she faded last start. Concerns are her keenness, an out-of-form rider and the inside draw.
Beaumista comes off the best Class 3 run in the field, going down by a whisker at Scone three weeks ago in the same grade as today. The speed map is his friend: with three leaders likely to go hard, he should be finishing over the top of tiring horses. The concerns are 61kg, a still-unconfirmed rider, and the Taree pattern that heavily favours on-pace runners. He is a strong place prospect and a live winning chance if the pace collapses, but the map risk keeps him below the top two.
Apache Jack has already won a Class 3 over 1200m this year, and his last start at Taree under a big weight was better than the finishing position suggests.
