A genuine, honest type who keeps putting his hand up without saluting.
The ideal inside barrier and on-pace running style line up neatly with what this track rewards, and she already has course form over a similar journey.

Has raced consistently without winning and his closing efforts at his last two starts were among the strongest in this line-up. He maps to settle handy in what shapes as a slowly-run race, which suits at Doomben's mile, and the Vandyke/Rodd partnership is a strong pointer.
The Chris Waller colt was beaten a nose over 1500m last start and closed like a horse wanting the mile. He draws the inside gate for Ben Thompson and should be peaking at this trip.
A second-up colt whose two placings came on soft ground and who maps to be in the firing line in a race with no obvious leader. He worked home well for third at Eagle Farm last start despite an interrupted run. Barrier 8 is tricky and he has not yet raced on a Good surface, but his on-pace profile fits the way the Doomben mile plays.
This gelding's last run was much better than the bare fourth suggests, charging home after being held up and racing greenly, and the winkers should help him concentrate. He draws nicely in barrier 3 and the rise to the mile looks ideal given how he finished off.

Hell Or Heaven has been competitive against better company than he faces today, running right up to a winning standard in each of his last two starts while beaten narrow margins.
The Aviator's best form lines up perfectly with today's conditions, including a near-winning run at this track and distance last time he contested a race of this grade.

Budda Bar's debut run was visually and numerically superior to anything else in this maiden field, finishing powerfully from off the pace to be beaten only narrowly. While lightly raced, the quality of that first run, suitable gate and tempo make it the most likely winner on what we know.
Astern Effort has been one of the most consistent types in this grade, racking up minor placings including a near-miss at this track last campaign. He draws well and settles close to the speed, which should suit.
Esnaad has never missed a place and has done so against better fields than she faces today, showing a tidy turn of foot in the closing stages each time. Dropping in grade and with a strong stable/jockey combination behind her, she rates highly, though settling back in a one-leader moderate-tempo race is the main risk to manage.
Stellagracia is unraced but carries strong proxy signals - a dominant Doomben trainer, a rider combination that wins at a very high rate together, and tidy trial form over course and distance. The inside barrier suits the track bias.

Smoke On The Water presents the strongest recent form in the race, winning two of her last three with a dominant last-start victory and dropping in grade today. Her good-track form is outstanding and the stable/jockey combination is in excellent touch at Doomben.
The inside barrier suits the track's bias and he looks to be improving with racing. The main query is whether he can carry that form into tougher open company for the first time, but he rates as a genuine threat to the top selection.
Kokatahi's last-start effort against better opposition was genuinely promising, finishing just under a length from the winner, and he drops into easier company today. The Waller stable is powerful at this track and the barrier draw is workable.
He drops slightly in grade today, the stable/jockey combination is strong together, and the gear change may sharpen him.

The one leader in the race who has shown she can genuinely control a race, Ready For Aimee ran to a winning standard two runs back over this trip on a good track and was narrowly beaten before a plain run last start. Drawn to cross from barrier three with the top combination at this track riding her, she is the most complete package on form and map and fully deserves favouritism.
She is clearly on the improve and has already beaten similar class. The wide gate is the only query, but her settling pattern means it should cost little.
Run Lucy Run gets a notable class drop today after mixing it with stronger mares, and her on-pace style fits the bias at this track.

Toro Strike produced the standout effort of this field last start, chasing home the winner at this same track over near enough to todays distance while clocking a performance well clear of what's usually needed to win a race of this level.
Wounder has trended upward sharply, topping it off with her best performance yet last start against stronger rivals over a longer trip. She already has a winning track-and-distance record and now gets the right grade and distance relief.
Cantarito has quietly been racing well above her placings recently, including a near-winning-standard effort in defeat last start. The Waller stable's strength at Doomben is a plus, but her back-of-the-field tactics carry some risk if the speed is as moderate as expected, leaving her as a place rather than banker proposition.
Madame Cody's first-up run was forgettable, but she has a strong record when building into a preparation and has previously led and placed over this trip in similar grade.

Boss Mode is the one runner in the field who has already proven he can win at Doomben over this precise distance, doing so last start from just off a modest pace.
Sort Cha Mess has rattled off a terrific sequence of placings and a sharp last-start win, and the way the map sets up today - sitting forward behind a single genuine leader - should suit him well. Still rates as a major player and the obvious each-way the race.
Divine Source looks set to get the run of the race as the only genuine leader, a significant edge at a track where on-pace runners dominate short sprints. She has won from the front at Doomben before and holds solid course form, though her finishing efforts have at times faded when uncontested in front. A wide gate is a slight query, but the uncontested lead is hard to ignore.
