Love Story's debut second at Warwick Farm was the standout performance in this field, run at a level above what wins these maidens, and she did it leading on soft ground at a track that rewards on-pace runners.

Klocke has done nothing wrong but nothing decisive either, running second at all three starts including a stakes placing at Eagle Farm over today's trip on soft ground. The blinkers and McDonald booking are intent signals, and his on-pace pattern from barrier 5 suits the circuit.
Iommi ran into form last start at Rosehill, finishing within a length over this trip despite over-racing and being checked near the 800m. He draws well, has handled heavy ground before and backs up quickly in good order.
Iminastate is a wet-track performer with three placings from three starts on soft or heavy ground, including an Open two-year-old handicap at Newcastle where he ran to a winning standard. He was boxed in last start when fourth and drops back to a plain maiden with barrier 1, which is the best draw at this track for an on-pace runner.

Asahi Super Dry (Bm64)
His Kembla win was the most consistent quality run in this field and came at today's grade, and he had already shown he handles rain-affected ground when leading throughout at Scone. With no genuine leader here he can take up a forward spot if Lloyd chooses, which is exactly what wins at this track. The 59.5kg is the only real knock.
He draws to sit on the speed in a race with no natural leader and the class drop helps. Each-way to cover the chance the drying track helps him more than expected.
The horse with the highest ceiling in the race. His Newcastle win on heavy ground as a two-year-old was better than anything else in this field has achieved, and his follow-up fifth at Randwick came after racing wide without cover and losing a plate. The wide draw and a likely position towards the rear on a track that punishes backmarkers are the concerns.
A colt on an upward curve whose last two runs read better than the bare results. He is a soft-track winner and the Berry and Freedman combination is a profitable one. From barrier 8 he can sit in the first few in a race without a dominant leader.
His Newcastle third at this exact grade and distance was a very good run, covering extra ground the whole way yet finishing a third of a length off the winner. He won when second-up last preparation, handles soft ground and should settle in the first four here with the tempo expected to be slow. Small each-way play.

MyRacehorse (Bm78)
Alabama Fox has run to a winning standard at this grade on three occasions, including a Randwick win over 1500m and a narrow second over 1400m here last spring. Her second-up Warwick Farm run on soft ground last start was strong and she is better second-up. Barrier 1 lets her settle in the first three on a track that rewards that, and she has placed 8 times from 11 starts. The weight is the only real query, but the class and consistency gap to the rest justifies her favouritism.
Maluku has done little wrong in four starts and her last-start win at Warwick Farm was the best performance of her career, overcoming a wide run without cover while carrying 60kg on Soft 5 ground. She drops a kilo today and gets a better draw. The two queries are the first attempt at 1400m and the step up to Bench. 78, but her rate of progress and soft-track record say she can handle both.
Superfabulistic is the natural leader and her form pattern of improving through a preparation plus a big Randwick trial win on soft ground make her hard to leave out. She led throughout to win on heavy going in May and her good-track mile win at Warwick Farm was strong for the grade. The concerns are the long gap since her last race, the class rise and a potential speed battle with Burj and Sing Your Song from a middling gate.
Beside The Ocean is the forgotten horse. She has been beaten under a length in two straight Bench. 78 races at Rosehill, including a run last start where she hung in the straight yet still finished close to the winner. That is form as good as anything in this field, and she adds James McDonald, who has a 30% strike rate for the stable. Worth an each-way play.

Hyland Race Colours (Bm72)
Leica Storm maps as the lone leader in a race lacking other speed, and on a course that rewards forward runners that is the key edge. He was held up on the home turn at Warwick Farm and still only went down a length in this grade, and his form over the past two months has been consistently close to a winning standard. Zac Lloyd is flying and the inside-middle draw lets him cross without effort. He is more placegetter than serial winner, but everything about today's set-up suits him better than it has for months.
Botanical Boy produced the best piece of form in this race when winning at Warwick Farm over a mile on a soft track, and his strike rate of five wins from twelve starts stands out. The form is strong enough that he is clearly in the top two on ability. The question marks are the race set-up: 62kg from a wide gate, first time at 1800m, and a midfield position in a race where the leader should get an easy time. The class is there, but the map and weight stop him being the top pick.
He has only one win from nine starts, and while he keeps running honestly, his recent efforts sit a touch below Botanical Boy's last-start win and Leica Storm's steady form. In his favour is the perfect run from barrier 4 trailing the leader, a strong jockey-trainer partnership and a good soft-track placing at Canterbury.
Furious is the value runner purely on class. He lost a shoe last start, has won here before and handles soft ground. The negatives are real, chiefly 61kg and a get-back racing pattern in a slowly-run race on a track that has not been rewarding closers.

Ranvet (Bm78)
Monte Kate is the form horse. Her Warwick Farm win at this grade on a soft track was the strongest recent performance in the race and she had excuses at a higher level before that. She handles wet ground, has an outstanding distance record and will race handy in a small field on a track where forward runners dominate.
He has won four of seven, maps to lead uncontested and this track rewards exactly that. The stable is in form and his trials were sound. The concerns are real though: he has never performed on soft ground, failed badly last time when keen, has been off the scene since June and carries 60kg into a stronger race.
Super Norwest has lost her way on results but her Rosehill run on a Heavy 9 in May was competitive and she gets a big weight relief against the two top weights here. The stable knows how to place them and she has been freshened. The draw and her tendency to settle off the pace are negatives on this track, so she is a third pick for each-way purposes rather than a confident selection.
His Canterbury win over this distance at this grade in April is the best piece of form in the race, and James McDonald returns having won both rides on him. The concerns are real though: a wide draw, 61kg, no wins on wet tracks, and two trials where he finished well back.
Who But Roo is the forgotten runner. He raced on the speed and held his ground at this grade last start, drops to the minimum weight and should be close to the lead throughout in a race with little pace. The Kensington stats heavily favour horses in his position on the turn.

Exceedance @ Vinery Stud (Bm78)
He races on the speed, draws to get a comfortable spot behind the leader, and has James McDonald aboard.
He is talented with a high strike rate, but the race shape is the concern: a lone leader at a slow tempo on a closer-hostile track leaves him needing luck and a sharp turn of foot from behind.
The problem is that he has been in this exact position repeatedly and has been run down every time, and he has never won on rain-affected ground.

TAB (Bm72)
Shotgun Bella is the most reliable form horse in the race, placing in ten of twelve starts and winning at a higher grade than this at Scone. Her runs before the break were up to a winning standard for this class, she races on the speed on a track that strongly rewards that style, and her two trials show she is ready. She handles soft going.
Her last-start run leading in Bm78 grade was solid and she drops in class with a trial win under her belt. But she is winless in four, carries top weight, is untested successfully on soft going and her stable is cold.
Island Dec is a soft-track specialist whose form reads far worse than it is because her last two runs were on good ground with clear excuses. Berry has an excellent record on her.
Found The Gold is the improver in the race. A stakes-placed 3yo filly with placings from all three starts, she gets a significant weight advantage over the older mares and her last-start third in this grade came after copping interference at several points. Her debut win was on soft ground.
