Despite being a debutant, Stout Hearted has every advantage in this weak country maiden. The inside barrier is crucial at Gatton's tight circuit, and the Pat W Webster/Chloe Lowe combination is proven (14% strike rate). Early pace from the rails is a potent weapon here.

Mandriana brings the strongest trial credentials in the race, having won a 925m trial impressively and placed second in a 860m trial at this track. The stable has prepared her with two trials, suggesting race fitness. Barrier 4 is workable, and Justin Stanley is a capable rider.
The Solicitor brings much-needed race experience and recent form, having placed in his last two maidens. He maps midfield and will need some luck from barrier 6, but the consistent level suggests he can hit the board again. He remains a place chance despite the wide draw, though win prospects are limited.
Trainer Hulbert knows how to get one ready and Adin Thompson is riding with confidence. A speculative each-way play.

Lockyer Valley Toyota Hcp (C3)
Power Of Success has been racing consistently in similar grades and gets a good barrier 2 to position just behind the speed. The gear change back to blinkers could bring improvement, and his form on Good tracks is solid. Distance remains a query as he has yet to win over a mile, but his fourth in a BM65 over 1640m suggests he is coping. He represents strong each-way value.
Rugby has a strong record over the mile with two wins from three attempts, and his recent form is solid with a second at Warwick. Barrier 4 is suitable and jockey Harrison Shaw performs well at Gatton. The main concern is the class rise, but he has shown enough ability to compete.
Vacillation is the form horse of the field, boasting an excellent recent record with consistent placings in higher grades. The drop to Class 3 from Class 5 is a significant advantage, and drawing barrier 1 at Gatton is ideal for the track's on-pace bias. Although he lacks a win over the mile, his performances over similar distances suggest he handles it.
He comes off a solid third at Inverell over 1600m on Good, and has previously won at the trip. The weight of 54kg is favourable, but the wide barrier and class rise are negatives.

Talleyrand represents the standout value proposition with barrier 1 being absolutely critical at Gatton where inside draws dominate. While inexperienced, the upward trajectory and premium draw offset concerns. The 1600m step-up from 1400m suits the breeding (Encryption) and recent racing pattern.
The barrier draw suits Gatton's bias and the distance appears ideal given previous placings at longer trips. While the form suggests this is the run to break through, the chronic non-winning pattern and lack of track experience create doubt.
And I Am offers each-way value based on the strong trainer/jockey combination and proven stamina at 1760m. The gear change removing winkers is intriguing and could unlock improvement, though it's a double-edged sword. Barrier 7 is workable but not ideal for Gatton's inside bias. The 3yo with limited experience has scope for improvement, and the connections are in excellent form.
The track knowledge and step up to 1600m are positives. However, barrier 11 is a massive negative at this track where inside draws dominate. The horse will need significant luck to overcome the wide draw, and Hellyer's 0% strike rate at Gatton is concerning.

Porters Plainland Hotel (Bm60)
Best Coffee presents as the most reliable winning chance based on recent form and track suitability. Last start BM60 winner at Warwick on Heavy 8, showing versatility and class at this level. Crucially holds a 1-0-0 record at Gatton 1400m, winning here in April. Inside barrier 3 is ideal for this tight, leader-favoring circuit. While carrying top weight, the compressed 3.5kg scale minimizes disadvantage.
Privalova represents a calculated risk based primarily on jockey engagement and track positioning. Ashley Butler's outstanding 40% strike rate at Gatton (2 wins from just 5 rides) is a significant positive that cannot be ignored. Inside barrier 4 provides ideal positioning on this rail-biased circuit. Dropping from BM65 to BM60 with just 57kg offers genuine class and weight relief. The gear change to ear muffs pre-race only suggests stable confidence in addressing previous issues. However, last start 9th at this exact track/distance is concerning, and form has been declining. Butler's track expertise and tactical positioning may overcome recent poor form.
Stepping from Class 1 to BM60 represents a significant class rise, and the gelding has never won beyond Maiden level. Distance record is concerning with 0 wins from 3 attempts at 1400m. Last start 6th at Doomben in CL1 company was unimpressive. While barrier 1 provides maximum inside advantage on this leader-favoring track, and recent Gatton experience is positive, the class rise and lack of winning form at this level are major concerns. Top weight 60kg adds further pressure.
The gelding boasts an excellent 1400m record with 2 wins and 2 places from 8 starts, proving this is an ideal distance. Proven performer on Good tracks and competitive at BM60-62 level. However, barrier 10 is a major obstacle at Gatton where inside draws dominate. The absence of a listed jockey is also concerning, suggesting possible late booking or stable uncertainty. Needs the slow tempo to develop favorably and a clear run from the outside.

Progressive 3YO filly with the right profile for this race. Won maiden impressively at Toowoomba then ran creditable 4th in R60 stepping up in class. Crucially draws barrier 4 at a track where inside positions dominate, and her 8:1-2-2 Good track record shows clear surface suitability. While the 1400m is untested, her racing pattern suggests she'll handle it. The combination of improving form, ideal draw, and track/condition suitability makes her the most reliable winning chance despite stepping up in distance.
Consistent mare perfectly positioned second-up with an ideal inside draw. Her record at this specific track/distance (placed both attempts) is a strong positive, and the second-up statistics (2 placings from 2) suggest she's primed for a peak performance. Last start 3rd in R60 at Toowoomba shows she's competitive at this level, and the booking of in-form Cartwright (25% strike rate) adds confidence. The barrier 2 draw is crucial at Gatton and gives her every chance to settle handy and finish strongly.
Lightly-tried mare with an ideal inside draw but facing significant unknowns. The barrier 3 position is a major asset at Gatton, and recent form shows she's competitive at lower levels with a 3rd in BM50. However, the complete lack of track/distance experience combined with a poor Good track record (0-1-2 from 9) raises concerns. The class rise from Class 1 to R55 is substantial, and while she has the right racing pattern for Gatton, she needs to prove she can handle this grade. Best watched as a place chance given the draw advantage.
Lightly-raced 3YO filly offering value based on recent maiden win at this exact distance and competitive 4th in stronger R58 company. Her 1400m record (2:1-0-0) is flawless, and with only 6 career starts, there's clear scope for improvement. However, the barrier 12 draw is a massive obstacle at Gatton where inside positions dominate, and jockey O'Connell's 0% strike rate at this track (0 from 8) is concerning. The poor Good track form (0-0-1 from 2) adds further doubt.

Reece Plumbing Ipswich Hcp (55)
Ucelle gets the perfect inside barrier at a track that heavily favours leaders and on-pace runners. She has a win and a placing from two starts over this course and distance, on Good. Her recent form is consistent with five placings in her last six starts, and she maps perfectly to sit just off the leading speed in a fast-run race. The main concern is her poor strike rate—just one win from 21 starts—which leaves her vulnerable, but she is the most reliable winner chance.
She draws ideally in gate 3, allowing her to settle on the pace. The main query is her poor Good-track record (0 wins), but she has placed twice.
Invisible Target is second-up today, having run a credible 6th first-up on a Heavy track. He draws well in barrier 4 and should roll forward. His last win was on Good at Kilcoy, so the surface suits. Jockey Harrison Shaw has a strong record at Gatton (23% wins).
Spirit Of Saintly is a six-year-old with a poor win record, but he maps beautifully from barrier 2 with just 54kg. His recent form is better than it looks—a fifth at Gayndah on Good, and a fourth at Kilcoy before that. He has placed at 1400m before.

Redmond''s Pet & Livestock Supplies Lockyer Lightning (Bm70)
Spirit Of Brodie is the standout selection despite class rise concerns. Gatton's strong inside barrier bias makes barrier 2 crucial, and he's proven he can control from on-pace in moderate tempo scenarios. While the 12kg class jump and poor Good track record are concerns, his specific course form and tactical advantage from the draw outweigh these negatives. The 56-day gap fits trainer Campton's pattern, and local knowledge is significant at provincial tracks.
Rich Minx presents as the most reliable each-way option with strong distance credentials and an ideal inside barrier. Her 1100m record is excellent, and the slight class drop from BM72 helps. However, the major concern is her recent synthetic-only campaign - she hasn't raced on turf since December. While her Good track record shows one win from six starts, the transition from synthetic back to turf after 6 months creates uncertainty. The inside barrier and proven distance ability make her a solid place chance, but the turf/synthetic question prevents full confidence for the win.
Boom Master is the speculative third selection based purely on his strong first-up record and class credentials. His 67% first-up place rate and previous Group 3 placing show genuine ability, and he's proven at BM70 level. However, the 497-day absence is extraordinary and creates massive uncertainty - this is essentially a comeback from injury or issue. The gear changes (tail chain off) suggest the stable believes he's ready, but barrier 10 isn't ideal at Gatton. This is a risky play banking on class and fresh-up ability overcoming the long spell. Each-way coverage recommended given the uncertainty.
She's a proven track winner here and won at BM70 level last preparation, so the class is suitable. The major concerns are the first-up query (modest fresh record) and the extreme distance drop from 1625m to 1100m. This is a speculative value play on track bias and course form.

2026 Ladbrokes Gatton Cup (Bm70)
Whatjeudoin' is the standout selection based on proven course/distance credentials and significant class drop. Today drops from BM78 to BM70 with ideal barrier 5 to control the predicted slow tempo. The 2000m distance suits perfectly (5:1-2-0 record) and Good 4 conditions are ideal (18:4-5-0). Last start failure over 2500m can be forgiven as unsuitable trip.
Moonshine Run brings excellent recent form and strong Gatton credentials but faces a genuine distance query. Won impressively last start at Toowoomba over 1640m and ran second here at Gatton two starts back. The Good 4 track is ideal (44% win rate) and the rising class trajectory is positive. However, the step to 2000m is untested and barrier 11 is a concern at this track. If handling the distance, looms as a major threat but the unknowns prevent top selection.
Samurai Warrior arrives in career-best form with three straight wins including a 2000m BM65 victory last start at Dalby. The distance is proven (5:1-0-1) and the progressive form line is compelling. However, stepping up to BM70 represents a genuine class test and the Gatton track record is concerning (2:0-0-0). Barrier 8 and jockey's poor Gatton record add further doubt.
Recent form has been on rain-affected surfaces where this horse excels. The class rise from BM65 to BM70 and unfamiliarity with Gatton add further doubt.

Falvey''s Hotel Gatton - Gatton Cup Official After Party (Bm58)
Alfa Dundee is the most in-form runner with two straight wins at BM58 level, albeit on Soft ground. The Good 4 is a slight query but his consistency and tactical speed from midfield suit Gatton's on-pace bias. Harrison Shaw rides well at the track and the horse has shown he can handle the distance. Top selection on class and recent form.
Jorum is a consistent mare who maps to lead in a race with only one genuine front-runner. The slow tempo and inside draw should allow her a soft lead at Gatton, where on-pace runners have an edge. Recent runner-up at Toowoomba over 2020m reads well. Each-way value against Alfa Dundee given the favoured run pattern.
Trusty Bandit has been hitting the board lately, running a close 3rd at Dalby then 4th in a Rest62 at Gatton over 2000m. He maps midfield and will appreciate the light weight. Stacey Callow has a strong 43% strike rate with this trainer.
Don Stefano drops from BM78 to BM58, a huge class advantage on paper. He hasn't shown it lately but his best runs in Vic suggest he can win a race like this. The 60kg is a concern but he has carried similar. The winkers back on could see improvement.
