Consistent Class 5 operator who maps perfectly from barrier 5 to land just behind the likely leaders in a moderate-run 1200m. The weight is a query but the run-style, fitness and draw offset it.

Kam Tin River Hcp (C5)
Profiles as the pace control from gate 2 with no genuine leaders engaged, which is advantageous at Sha Tin 1200m. Has trialled sharply and gets meaningful weight relief from recent racing, suggesting improvement. Lacks a win, but Class 5 and the map/tempo scenario bring him right into the finish. If able to conserve early, he can give a strong kick and be hard to get past late.
Lightweight on-pacer who can sit close to a modest speed and capitalize on Sha Tin’s 400m-position bias. Recent close third suggests he’s holding form, and 52kg is a key advantage late.
Well drawn and back in grade, he can secure a rails-in-run position and conserve energy. His recent 1000m efforts show he retains speed, and the class relief into C5 is a notable positive.

Kam Tin River Hcp (C5)
Maps to lead or box-seat from gate 1 in a race lacking genuine speed, which is a key edge at Sha Tin 1200m. Comes off a close third at the course and distance and has a recent Class 5 win this prep. Moreira sticks and the Fownes partnership rates highly. Good-track stats aren’t stellar, but the tactical map and inside draw offset this.
Well drawn and likely to land in the first three or four, which is the high-percentage spot at Sha Tin 1200m. Recent second here at the trip confirms class-suitability, and his on-pace style is a good fit for a moderate tempo. He lacks a killer punch and overall winning record is thin, but the draw and map provide a genuine platform to run top three again.
Arrives off a solid win at the course and trip and owns a strong Sha Tin 1200m record. The Size yard is a positive and gate 5 is perfect. Main knocks are the sharp rise to 61kg and a likely midfield/back position in a race without a tearaway leader. More a high-probability place profile than a confident repeat win in this setup.
Comes off a recent Class 5 win and draws to hold a handy spot from gate 3, a profile that wins disproportionately at Sha Tin 1200m. Worth an each-way spec with the draw and recent win signaling improvement.

From gate 7 Purton can secure a stalking spot, aiming to be top-three by the 400m which is pivotal at Sha Tin sprints. He’s still a maiden but trending up, handles Good, and profiles as the most likely winner.
Consistent 1200m performer who broke through two back and was credible again last start. Gate 3 puts him in the right spot for Sha Tin’s on-pace/handy bias over sprints.
Honest Class 4 sprinter building a solid platform with handy/strong-closing efforts. The inside draw should allow him to settle in the first four and present early in the straight, a pattern that rates well at Sha Tin 1200m. The knock is a lean Sha Tin record despite competitive runs.

Nam Chung River Hcp (C4)
Enthralled brings the most complete 2000m profile: a narrow Class 4 second at this trip last time at Sha Tin and prior Class 3 competitiveness. From barrier 7 he can settle just behind the speed in what profiles as a slow run race, suiting a sit-and-sprint. Bowman and Size add confidence.
Noisy Boy looks well-placed dropping from Class 3 after a solid 2000m run here. While the track-and-distance place record isn’t deep, the class relief and map advantages make him a strong winning threat and a safe top-three prospect.
From barrier 8 he should land just off the leaders in a slowly run race, giving him every chance to be top-three at the 400m where Sha Tin’s bias bites. His consistency and stamina keep him in the frame, though he’s slightly less dynamic than the top two.
In a race with limited genuine speed, the inside alley gives him options to settle a pair closer than usual.

Ng Tung River Hcp (C4)
He profiles ideally for the Sha Tin AWT: an inside draw to hold a handy spot in a race with only one genuine leader and a moderate tempo. The AWT typically rewards on-speed runners and he’s 2:2-2-0 at the track/trip.
Drops back to Class 4 and regains his right set-up after two tough Class 3 runs from wide gates. While the moderate tempo may not fully suit a midfield run, he has the class and tactical nous to hold a closer spot than usual and produce late. Genuine winning chance at assessed overs.
Forgive the 1800 miss; his prior profile at 1650 AWT is sound, including a recent win and multiple competitive finishes. From barrier 7 he can be prominent behind or outside the likely leader in a moderate-run race—an ideal pattern on the AWT. While not bulletproof, he brings adequate tactical speed and proven trip form to land a placing or better if he sustains the run.
Maps to lead and control a moderate tempo—often a winning recipe on the Sha Tin AWT. He rises from Class 5 but carries a light weight and owns recent AWT winning form at 1800. First-up stats are plain and the draw is tricky, yet if he crosses cheaply he becomes hard to get past.

Profiles to find the front in a race lacking multiple genuine leaders, and the 50.5kg is a major lever over 1200m at Sha Tin where on-pace runners hold a durable edge. Comes off a solid Class 4 third and now drops 5.5kg, which boosts late strength. If Enjoy Golf crosses without burning, he’s the most likely winner.
Back to his best set-up: Class 4 at 1200m and an inside draw. He’s already proven he can carry 61kg to win at this course and trip, and recent 1200m times stack up for this grade. The inside barrier should help him be in the first few by the 400m, which is key at Sha Tin. If he begins cleanly, he’s a strong winning chance and at least an each-way play.
However, his Sha Tin/1200m record (0-0-1 from 17) is a significant knock in a sprint that should reward on-pace/handy runners. He’s still racing well enough to hit the frame if he produces a clean run-on, but that track/distance profile keeps him behind the top two on winning chance.
Fresh leader/handy type suited by a moderate early tempo and the Sha Tin sprint pattern. First-up profile is solid and he has previous Sha Tin 1200m success.

Sha Tau Kok River Hcp (C4)
That placement is a major edge at Sha Tin 1400.
He’s trending the right way at 1400m and draws perfectly to race in the first three, which is a proven edge at Sha Tin. The set-up (barrier 4, moderate tempo) is ideal.
Consistent operator who draws to stalk the speed and use the Sha Tin pattern well. His 1400m and Sha Tin records are solid, and recent Class 3 form suggests he’s more than capable at this level. The main knocks are his low winning strike rate, 60 kg, and a rider with a light local record. Profile fits a podium finish if he holds the spot at the top of the straight.
He’s been running to a level that makes him competitive in Class 4 and the draw should guarantee an economical run behind a moderate tempo. While his strike rate is a concern, he consistently holds position and gives himself a chance at the 400m, which is key at Sha Tin.

The Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup (C1)
Profiles as the most likely winner. He owns superior straight-1000 credentials at Sha Tin, arrives off a strong Group 3 1200m run, and maps to be in the first trio at the 400m, which is pivotal here. With tactical speed from barrier 4 and proven sub-56 ability, he can control his effort at a moderate clip. Despite 59kg, his class and straight-track efficiency justify favouritism.
His 1000m record is excellent and he has the tactical pace to be within striking distance by the 400m, the prime winning profile at Sha Tin sprints. Recent 1200m efforts were serviceable without luck; the drop back to 1000m and a cleaner map are key positives.
His profile at the trip is excellent and he’s drawn to blend in toward the outside, often a plus down the straight.
From barrier 2 he can be in the firing line and the moderate tempo forecast suits.

Beas River Hcp (C3)
Arrives with the best blend of current form and suitability for Sha Tin’s 1650m AWT. A narrow second at the trip two back and a strong 1800m effort since indicate he holds his condition. From gate 7 he can park midfield in a moderate tempo, blend in before the turn, and sustain to the line. With 56.5kg he’s better placed than the topweight and looks the most likely winner on a balanced assessment.
Purton helps offset his pattern, but 61kg and a moderate-to-on-pace AWT profile mean he’s not bombproof.
Barrier 1 and 51kg set up a cheap lead or leaders’ back in a race without excessive pressure. That profile is often golden on the Sha Tin AWT. He brings solid 1400m form and can steal a break before the bend. The unknowns are the new trip and surface, so while he can win on pattern, his stamina if pressured is a small risk.
Last AWT run was sound within two lengths; now drops to 52kg and maps for a soft run behind the speed.

Shek Sheung River Hcp (C3)
From gate 2 he should park just behind the speed in a moderate-run sprint which suits, and his first-up record is sound. With 57kg and Teetan’s booking, he profiles as the most likely winner.
The main knock is the 61kg in a sprint, but his recent efforts suggest he can cope and fill a placing at minimum.
Speed influence who returns to his preferred Sha Tin 1200m after two forgive runs at Happy Valley. Earlier this year he posted fast times while carrying 61kg, and from gate 7 he can roll forward and dictate a moderate tempo. If he stacks them up, he can give a big sight.
Promising 3yo who brings a sharp Australian 1200m time and typically improves second-up. From barrier 6 he can land in the first four and gets Bowman to execute. While unproven at Sha Tin and still acclimatising, the setup (moderate tempo, on-pace pattern) is favourable.

Tan Shan River Hcp (C3)
His deep 1400m/Sha Tin record is superior and he has previously handled big weights, mitigating today’s rise. From gate 10 Atzeni can roll forward and be top-three at the 400m, the key Sha Tin metric.
Consistent at Sha Tin 1400m this prep and draws to secure the A1 run from barrier 1. The moderate pace suits his box-seat pattern and he is highly likely to be top-three at the 400m. Main knock is the big weight and a minor rider downgrade; still rates a major winning hope.
He profiles as a strong top-three chance, but with a moderate tempo forecast he may be midfield at the 400m, slightly reducing win probability versus on-speed rivals.
Forgive his two HK efforts from wide draws. From barrier 2 with Moreira, he can hold a handy position in a moderate-run race and produce a finish closer to his Australian Listed peak.
