Skua has placed at both starts, including a 2nd in an Open at Newcastle, form well above this grade. Second up, stretching to 1600m and back into a maiden, he is the class runner.

bet365 Bet Boost Mdn Plate
The most reliable, best-mapped runner in the race. Barrier 3 lets Mott take the trip that Seymour's strong on-pace bias rewards. Against him is a 5yo maiden profile, 59.5kg and a habit of finding one better. Ideal each-way proposition rather than a confident win play.
A promising, well-drawn filly with a genuine excuse-laden debut. Abaya was crowded near the 1400m and held up at the 400m at Sale before finishing 3rd on a Soft 6, the same surface she meets today. The minimum 55kg, barrier 2 and the Freedman/McNeil combination are all positives, and the step to 1600m should suit.
The clear overlay. Milvian Bridge closed from 13th to run 4th at Sale over 1717m on a Soft 6 on debut, having been keen and restrained early - the single most relevant stamina-plus-wet-surface line in this field. He drops 117m in trip with a run under his belt, and the O'Brien/Thornton pairing strikes at 29% with Thornton 23% at Seymour.

Yarran Mdn Plate
The most credible form line in the race. The step to 1429m looks a positive rather than a query. Short, but genuinely the most likely winner on evidence.
The best-mapped runner in the race. Second-up, back to her proper trip and drawn in barrier 2, she can take up the sort of on-pace position Seymour has been rewarding heavily.
The class wildcard. Against that, he returns from 354 days off with a first-up record of one unplaced start and shoulders 59.5kg. Class and wet-track credentials keep him in the placings frame; the layoff stops him being the win selection.
A genuine overlay.

Highlands Joinery Mdn Plate
Platinum Pearl offers the most reliable, directly transferable form in the race - a close-up 3rd in a Soft 7 Maiden at Sandown only three weeks ago, with an on-pace profile that plays directly into Seymour's maiden track bias. Quick backup suggests she's tracking well physically.
Anglais's only start produced a narrow beaten margin in a much tougher Open-class race, and the drop into a Maiden today is substantial.

Tallarook Sheds Mdn Plate
He settled 5th and picked up strongly, meaning he does not need the lead on a track where 400m-leaders are favoured but not essential. Natural second-start improvement, ideal gate and a proven track jockey make him the most likely winner.
She now meets a country maiden field, drops 3kg and gets an in-form rider who wins at 24% for the stable. The gate is the main negative given Seymour sprints punish deep settlers, but the raw ability and fitness edge are obvious and she should be right in the finish.
The class relief is significant. Against him is a 130-day freshen with an unplaced first-up record, the widest barrier, no wet-track evidence and a pattern of settling well back at a venue that heavily favours on-pace sprinters. Talented but needs things to fall right.
He is a well-bred Snitzel colt from a strong stable with a proven track rider, he races forward which fits Seymour's pronounced on-pace sprint bias, and the drying Soft 6 should be more suitable than the bottomless tracks he has met so far.

RMBL Investments Rising Stars Race (Bm62)
His soft/heavy record (2 wins, several placings) is well ahead of most in this field, and his handy racing pattern should benefit if the two home-track leaders duel.
A lightly-raced type with a genuinely strong signal for today's conditions — he won his only start leading all the way on a Soft 7 track.
An experienced mare dropping sharply out of stronger grade with solid soft-track placing credentials and a workable inside barrier.

Magic Millions Horses In Training 12 Oct (Bm70)
Jenny The Beaver is the clearest form horse for Soft conditions after winning her last two on wet tracks, including a determined Seymour Soft 2000m BM62 victory from back in the field. Wet-track record is strong and she handles the distance. Class rise and map are negatives on a slow tempo with leaders bias, yet recent trajectory and track suitability make her the most likely winner on pure form.
Ahab arrives in peak form after a narrow Seymour win over this trip on Heavy and a string of honest performances. Barrier 2 and on-pace role are perfect for the projected slow tempo and strong leaders bias.
Kiss My Rock ran an honest third behind Ahab over this course and distance last start on Heavy and has winning wet form. John Allen’s engagement is a major plus given their strike rates. Wide gate and class rise are hurdles, but he is fit, progressive and capable of filling a place or better if the race develops favourably.
Calypso King is the value runner as the likely lone leader in a slow-tempo staying race where leaders are winning at 33%. Soft form is genuine and he has won at the trip.

Seymour Toyota (Bm62)
The most complete form profile in the race. He steps to his optimal trip second-up, holds a workable barrier in a race with no genuine leader, and races for a top stable.
Both runs have come on Soft 6, she won at Bendigo doing it hard wide without cover, and her Sale run over an inadequate 1400m saw her fight on from a forward spot. Craig Williams replacing McNeil for the Hayes stable at a track where he strikes at 27% is a clear intent signal, and the step up to the mile plus barrier 5 in a tactical race should bring improvement.
The class and conditions horse of the race. Pariah Pearl has won four times on soft ground and boasts three wins, three seconds and two thirds from thirteen mile starts, a profile nothing else here matches. The weight and a patchy recent run of results temper enthusiasm, but at this level with these conditions she is a live each-way proposition.
Three wins from her last six preparation starts, a light weight of 53.5kg with the claim, and a distance record of two wins from six make her materially underpriced against horses with far less mile evidence.

Kilmore Ford (Bm62)
The class edge in the race. The first-up Bendigo run on Heavy 8 was a fitness exercise where he sat outside the leader under 60kg. His second-up record reads 2 starts for 1 win, he won a maiden on Heavy 8 so rain-affected ground holds no fear, and barrier 3 lets him take the handy position Seymour rewards.
He broke through at Bendigo over 1400m on a Soft 6 and was beaten a nose at Seymour on Soft 5, so both the trip and the surface are proven. Jordan Childs has an excellent Seymour strike rate and rides well for the stable. The last-start synthetic flop came after he overraced in front over an unsuitable 1600m.
Clear each-way value.
