Three metropolitan trials, culminating in a Soft 5 Randwick win under Tim Clark, is a materially higher class of preparation than anything else here can point to. Matthew Dale rarely brings them to a country maiden without purpose and the Latham booking (15% for the stable) reinforces intent. The wet ground is a positive given his trial surfaces, and barrier 10 sits in Goulburn's best sprint band. The reservation is the map - he must not settle last.

Bryant's Pies Country Boosted Mdn Plate
The most reliable form horse in the race. She has a proven wet-track placing and Brodie Loy, riding at 35% over his last 20, is a meaningful upgrade. The concerns are twelve starts without a victory and a back-half settling pattern at a track that rewards on-pace runners, so place is the disciplined play.
A well-prepared debutant whose two Goulburn trials, both seconds and one on Soft 7, tick the track and surface boxes that matter most today. Against that, he has never raced, the jockey statistics at this venue are thin, and the projected back-half settling position runs against a strong on-pace bias. Place value.
The clear overlay. A single-start galloper who ran third in Open company at Wagga while racing three wide without cover is holding form well above maiden class, and today he drops sharply in grade. Barrier 7 sits in Goulburn's most productive sprint band and his on-pace pattern suits a track where the front three at the 400m win over a fifth of races. The Soft 5 Hawkesbury trial confirms readiness.

Spain is the standout on form and map. A Group 3 second over 1400m on soft ground, leading throughout, is several lengths superior to anything else here, and he draws mid-field with the field's best early speed on a track where leaders and on-pacers dominate. The Randwick trial was sharp and the Waterhouse/Bott booking of Hyeronimus signals a straightforward win-and-progress mission.
In Circles has been consistently placed in provincial maidens and her form on Soft 5 at Beaumont last start was sound, tracking the speed and holding on for third. She draws the favoured mid-band and should settle in the first three, which is where Goulburn winners come from.
Legaselli is the clear second-best on form after a narrow 1400m defeat at Kembla Grange where she raced on-pace and finished strongly. She maps to sit just behind Spain and holds a top-3 position at the 400m, which is the winning spot on this track.
He will sit second behind Spain and on a strongly on-pace track that position alone puts him in the frame, especially with backmarkers Sea Level, Tatiana and Fly The Wind needing everything to fall right. His soft-track placing at Wyong was over further and he has shown he stays, so a drop in trip should sharpen him.

She maps on-pace from a good draw on a track statistically dominated by forward runners. Weight rise and class rise are the only genuine queries.
Spread The Love is the map horse. He should lead from barrier 4 with Brodie Loy, and on-pace runners have a pronounced edge at Goulburn. His first-up run was compromised by being hampered at the start yet he was still second at the 400m. Second-up record of 2:1-1-0 and 3 wins from 8 starts show he wins when set up.
Stormbringer has already won a BM66 at Goulburn on wet ground this campaign and returned to form with a fast-finishing 3rd in the same grade here last start. He has the early speed to slot in midfield from barrier 9 if Latham elects to use it, which would improve on his last-start position.

Under the debutant proxy framework he scores best: strong trainer, strong jockey booking, speed pedigree suited to 1200m, and barrier 6 sits in Goulburn's best draw zone.
Stay Inside filly making her debut for Michael Freedman after two solid Randwick trials, the better of them a 4th beaten just a length on Soft 5 which suits today's surface. Draws barrier 8 within the mid-draw sweet spot and carries the minimum 55kg. Proxy profile is solid but not quite as strong as Centimetre, and the trials were placings rather than wins, so she rates the main threat rather than the top pick.
Her positive is the map: she has early speed to settle 2nd from barrier 9, and Goulburn strongly favours on-pace runners on Soft ground.
Bold Bucks is the most likely of the on-pace runners to sit in the first three at the 400m, where Goulburn winners come from at over 21%. His second-up record shows a 2nd last preparation, and the Gosford 4th on Soft 5 came racing greenly first run after gelding. Barrier 12 is workable given his early speed.
Kiss Of Gold is the wet-proven, on-pace type the Goulburn profile favours, with placings on Soft and Heavy tracks and a strong 3rd at Hawkesbury on Soft 5 two runs back.
She mapped fourth at the 400m on debut, which fits Goulburn's strong on-pace bias. Wet form is unproven officially but Soft 7 trial form suggests no concern. Second-start improvement plus a lightweight from a metro yard makes her the clear form pick despite the unconfirmed rider.
The step up to 1200m and a cleaner beginning from barrier 2 should see her closer, and the Boudvillain/Beer combination is striking at 43%.

The gear change moved him forward, which is exactly what Goulburn's on-pace bias rewards. Mid-draw 5, wet-proven and lightly raced with upside, he profiles as a genuine improver stepping to Class 1.
Remy's Bro is the wet-track form horse of the race, having won on Heavy 9 last start and placed both times on soft ground before that. His on-pace style fits Goulburn's bias and Brodie Loy is riding in career-best form. The 59kg top weight and inside draw temper enthusiasm, and he must prove himself at Class 1 and over 1300m, but his consistency and surface suitability make him the safest place proposition behind the top pick.
Glenn's Legacy is consistent and race-fit with two honest Goulburn runs, and his on-pace style and 9-12 draw suit the track profile.
Costalivin offers the best value in the race. Second up for the Dale stable with early speed to sit on the pace from barrier 3, she fits the Goulburn on-pace template and the trainer/jockey combination is a 25% one.

Borderfall is a proven front-runner who has already won on Soft 5 at 1100m, and Goulburn's on-pace bias is among the strongest in NSW country racing with backmarkers winning under 6%. He handles a class drop from BM64 to country Class 2 and has been competitive every start.
Her Canterbury BM64 third beaten half a length at 59kg is arguably the strongest form line in the race, she has won at this track and trip, and her soft-track record shows four placings from six. Maps on-pace which suits the Goulburn bias. Wide draw and a rider in modest form are the concerns, but she rates a clear each-way overlay.
Broke through at Mudgee on heavy ground last start sitting second and she brings a light weight and a handy racing pattern into a race that favours forward runners. The Portelli stable had her in a Group 3 as a two-year-old so there is some upside as a three-year-old against older horses.
Erratic form limits him to a small each-way play.

Brad Writer Constructions (Bm58)
Luna Bay is the form runner of this BM58. Second up she is 2:1-0-1, has placed at 1600m on Soft 5, and from barrier 7 she maps to sit outside the leader - exactly the mid-draw, on-pace profile Goulburn rewards. The 60kg and weak rider temper confidence but she rates the most likely winner.
The wet record is solid and the Dale/Day combination is a strong one. The issues are a 5.5kg weight rise and a running style that needs to get back and make ground on a track where on-pace runners dominate.
However she has never produced on rain-affected ground (0 from 2, one disastrous), was one paced first up and is only 1:0-0-1 second up.
She maps to sit forward from barrier 10, which suits the Goulburn on-pace bias, and the booking of Brodie Loy - the hottest rider in the field with a strong record at the track and with the stable - is a meaningful intent signal. Her heavy-track failure at Dubbo is forgivable and her last start on a good track was sound.
