Turpin's Torment is the most reliable form horse in the race. He has 5 placings from 9 starts at this distance and handles soft going. The obvious risks are his winless record and his backmarking style in a race likely run at moderate tempo, but the recent Coffs meetings have seen backmarkers finding more success than the historical norm and Jett Newman is riding well.

La Regina has the right racing pattern for Coffs Harbour, where on-pace runners dominate Maiden races, and she draws well with a jockey who wins 23% of his rides here. However she led and weakened badly last start at this track, has never raced beyond 1430m, and the addition of a lugging bit points to a mare that over-races - a dangerous trait stepping up to 1618m.
Play It Cool is a moderate but honest performer whose main appeal is the race shape. He should settle third or fourth behind the two leaders from barrier 5, exactly where the Coffs Harbour data says Maiden winners come from. He placed here on heavy ground in May and June and was competitive at Grafton over 1700m last week.
Irish Accolade offers the best overlay. His 6th at Taree was at Class 1 level and he now returns to Maiden grade. He has extensive wet-track experience and can settle closer than his backmarker label suggests.

The concerns are real though – he pulled hard leading last start, Noadiah will contest the lead, and the jockey booking is weak.
Under the maiden proxy rules, Miss Fic rates strongly on connections: Dunn/Mallyon are the best stable-rider combination in the field and Mallyon has a 23% strike rate at Coffs. Against exposed maidens with nothing but placings between them, a well-trialled debutant with intent is a genuine winning chance.
Who Loves A Harley is the improver in the race. The step to 1218m and inside draw help, but he must overcome an on-pace bias, 59kg, and a plain prior soft-track effort. A legitimate place chance with upside if the two leaders take each other on.
Noadiah is the value in the race. She maps to lead or share the lead on an on-pace dominant track.

Morse Legacy Super Mdn Hcp
The class drop to a country maiden, an on-pace pattern and barrier 4 align with the Coffs Harbour sprint bias. Rider form is the main knock, but she is the most likely winner.
Two straight trial wins on Soft 5 ground, a barrier 1 draw and the booking of Coffs Harbour's leading rider Ben Looker all point to a well-prepared debutant. The concern is the speed map projecting him back in the field on a track that punishes backmarkers, and a 3yo racing against older horses first time out. Solid place prospect and a genuine winning chance if he settles closer than mapped.
Sha From The Jar is a debutant evaluated on proxy signals. The standout is the booking of Andrew Mallyon, who wins 23% of his rides at Coffs Harbour, and a Heavy 10 trial placing at Narromine confirms wet ground is fine. The Bathurst trial 6th 47 days ago is less encouraging and he maps to settle back.
Dream Invader is the value play purely on race shape. He is the only genuine leader in a 1014m sprint on a track where front-runners and on-pace types win at nearly four times the rate of backmarkers, and he showed he handles wet ground with a Heavy 9 trial win at Wyong. His debut 7th came after laying out on the turn, which the pre-race ear muffs aim to address.

Next Van Der Meulen Hcp (C1)
He maps handy from gate 5 on a leader-favoured Coffs surface, carries just 56.5kg and has placed twice in Class 1 on soft going.
Torque So Hot is the runner best suited by the Coffs Harbour bias: an on-pace sprinter drawn inside who has already handled Heavy 10 and Soft 7 going. Dropping back from 1430m to 1218m after a solid C1 third on a wet Grafton track, he gets Mallyon (23% at this venue) and should control a moderate tempo.
Carrying only 55.5kg against seasoned rivals he has the most upside, but the wide draw on a track that punishes gates beyond nine and an unproven rider mean he may need luck to be closer than midfield.
Mini Angel is the overlay. She races on the speed, which is precisely the profile this track rewards, and she has already won on Heavy 9 and placed on Soft 5.

Dyer Derby (Bm58)
The predicted fast tempo from three leaders plays directly into his closing style, and barrier 3 removes the wide-run risk.
Seething Chuck is the reliable on-pace type the BM58 rule favours. He was narrowly beaten in this grade over 1600m on a soft track last start, draws barrier 4, and maps to sit just behind the speed in a race where the leaders may be pressured.
Dupont is the overlay. He ran second beaten a nose here in the identical race last start, finishing ahead of Venom Wolf and Secret Keeper, and did so after racing keenly and being held up. He carries the lightest weight in the field, draws well, and maps midfield in a race expected to be run at a genuine tempo.

Stig Sprint Country Boosted (Bm58)
Cool Fizz drops back to BM58 after holding her own in BM74 company, then ran a strong 2nd here last start with 61kg from a handy spot. She is a proven 1000m and wet-track performer, has won at this track and distance, and maps to settle 3rd-4th which is the winning position in Coffs sprints. The 1.5kg swing back from Highland Force plus the extra 200m tilts the rematch her way. Main knock is her habit of running seconds.
However the draw is the concern - barrier 16 at a track that punishes wide gates in sprints, in a race predicted to run very fast up front. Her one attempt at 1000m-plus was a heavy defeat.
She needs a tidy start from barrier 11 to slot in behind the speed, but her forward pattern and wet-track credentials make her a genuine each-way chance.
She comes back from Class 3 to BM58 after a solid run at Tamworth on Soft 5, has a genuine wet-track profile with two wins on soft going including a BM58 win over 1000m in June, and draws barrier 6 to sit in the ideal on-pace pocket behind the three leaders. If the tempo breaks up the front-runners, she is the one placed to pounce.

Wild Weller Tribe (Bm58)
A fast tempo from three genuine leaders sets the race up perfectly for his closing pattern from gate 4. Class 1 to BM58 is a mild rise but his profile is that of a progressive 5yo with upside.
She has won three of her last four, including a BM58 at Port Macquarie on a Soft 6 from gate 12, and a Coffs Harbour trial win on September 3 confirms fitness after 44 days. Light weight and on-pace tactics suit the historical Coffs Harbour profile, but a genuinely fast tempo may take the sting out of her late.
His Casino Class 3 win from 8th carrying 60kg with winkers first applied was a clear step forward, and the drop to BM58 brings him back to a level he has already won at.
Overlay based on track affinity and recent trajectory. The class drop is meaningful and a fast tempo suits.
