Twilight Tango returns to Balaklava where she produced her best career run (4th over 1200m). She's racing fit, has a jockey in hot form, and gets a light weight. Rough place chance.

Trade Game is the clear form runner with a Maiden win on Heavy 10 at Morphettville two starts back. However, the significant weight rise to 62kg and the step up to Class 1 are genuine concerns. Still the most likely winner given his wet-track credentials.

Justadexter gets a significant weight advantage and should be prominent from barrier 2. Her only win was a Maiden on good ground, and she has yet to prove herself on heavy. More of a place chance.

Impending Diamond has the strongest heavy credentials in the race with 4 wins on the surface, and a perfect 2 from 2 at Balaklava. He drops sharply in grade from Metropolitan BM66 company. However, his recent form is mixed and the jockey booking (Alyssa Webb, 0 wins from 36 at the track) is a notable negative. Still, his class and wet-track ability demand respect.

Just Like Lisa is an experienced mare who has been racing consistently around this grade, including a 3rd at Balaklava on soft and a 4th on heavy. She handles the conditions and has a in-form jockey in Harry Grace. While she lacks a heavy win, her placed efforts show she can finish well on rain-affected ground. She should be around the mark.

Whatsanamegeorge comes off a sharp 2nd at Bordertown on Heavy8, dropping from BM58 to R56. He maps well from barrier 6, can sit on pace. Todd Pannell is a strong booking. He handles wet ground and should be hard to beat.

Jackson Run ran a strong 2nd at this track/distance on Soft7 in June, then competed in higher grades. Now back to R56 with a featherweight 54kg and an in-form rider. He maps midfield and can finish on if tempo is genuine.

Alekhine's Gun was a close 2nd in a Class 1 here over 2200m on Soft7 before a poor run on Heavy10. He drops to R56 and gets a good jockey in Brooke King. Each-way appeal.

Last War is the most proven wet-track horse in the race with a win and two placings on heavy. He also has a strong record at Balaklava over 1400m. Last start 4th on soft was solid, and he carries only 56kg. The wide barrier (11) is a concern but he has the tactical speed to hold a midfield position.
