Consistent around this trip and his recent Belmont runs were up to a winning standard. From barrier one he looks the natural leader in a race without genuine early pressure, and an even tempo suits his on-speed style on a track that leans towards forward runners.

An on-speed type who should find a handy spot from gate six, which suits the Belmont pattern. His best recent run was a closing third over this trip here, and the stable has changed his gear to sharpen him.
Second-up with blinkers added first time, usually a sign a stable is looking to sharpen a horse up. He was caught wide and never threatened on debut, but he draws much better here for a yard that places them well.

Morley Growers Market Mdn
The class runner of a modest maiden. She drops out of a stronger juvenile handicap into maiden company and lands the inside gate.
The most reliable exposed horse in the race. He ran to a winning standard when third at Pinjarra last start and has placed repeatedly at this course and trip, so he should be in the finish again. He maps to sit just off the speed from a handy draw. The obvious knock is 18 starts without a win, so he is best played to place rather than to win.
Beaten just over a length into third here over 1200m at her only start, she looks the type to improve for the run. Drawn to settle handy with a light weight on a track that rewards on-pace runners, she fits the profile.
His close second over further in the autumn was the strongest single piece of form in this field, and a recent trial suggests he has come back well.

Drummond Golf Hcp (C1)
Maps to lead on her own in a race without much early speed, and the short Belmont straight plays straight into that strength. Comes off a close second and a tough heavy-track maiden win, and carries only 53kg. Her recent efforts rate clearly on top of this field, and the moderate tempo should let her control the race. The query is class — she has to reproduce it against older, harder horses.
A reliable on-pace mare who has done all her racing at 1000m and almost never runs a poor race. Draws the inside gate and should sit right on the speed behind the leader, exactly where Belmont winners come from. She was narrowly beaten at Albany last time and finished second over this course and trip earlier in the year.
Went desperately close over this track and trip last start and clearly relishes Belmont's 1000m, with a win and a placing from two attempts. She can race closer than her usual profile suggests, which helps given the on-pace lean of the track. The concern is that she is second-up, a scenario in which she has never placed.
He is lightly raced with plenty of improvement to come, drawn well in barrier 3 and likely to settle midfield. The stable is a strong one and the booking of a senior rider signals intent.

The most reliable profile in an even race. He won over a similar trip two starts back and has been placed at this course and distance on several occasions. From gate two he should get the run of the race with an in-form rider aboard, and his recent placings at this level suggest he will be in the finish again.
The concern is the surface: every win has come on rain-affected ground and he has never placed on a good track.
Honest front-runner who led and was only worn down late over 1300m last start, arguably the strongest recent effort in the field. With the rail pushed out she should find the front again. The doubts are the step up to 1650m, a trip she has tried several times without winning, and a poor record at this course.
Consistently runs to a high standard and his recent form is as good as anything engaged.

Liquor Barons Hcp (C1)
The class runner of the field, having placed behind better horses at this trip last preparation. He settles forward, which helps him work across from the wide gate, and his best form is well above this grade.
Fitter than most and ideally drawn in gate one, he led and stuck on for second at this trip a fortnight ago. He is consistent and well suited by the mile at Belmont.
The improver of the field. He charged home for third over 1700m last start and was the strongest finisher in the race, and he now drops in grade over a trip he clearly likes. The concern is his get-back style and habit of missing the start at a track that favours forward runners, so he needs the race to set up but is a definite place chance.
He maps as the likely leader from a good gate for a leading stable, and a moderate tempo should let him control the race at a track that rewards on-pace runners. His two recent runs were at short trips and can be excused.

A lightly raced four-year-old who won his only start over this track and trip, and he has William Pike, who is riding winners for fun, in the saddle. He trialled sharply since his break. The knocks are a rise from maiden grade straight into Class 3 and a record without a win on good ground, but his best form is clearly the strongest here.
Second pick and the one most likely to capitalise on the on-pace bias. He maps to sit just behind the leaders from a good gate, has won his only start over this track and distance, and was competitive in a stronger grade last preparation. He did weaken after leading over a mile last start, but the drop back to 1400m is in his favour. The query is a winless record on good ground.
A consistent on-pacer who gets in with a light weight and the inside draw, which should see him track the speed and get every chance. He has been around the mark in stronger Class 3 company at this track, including a win over 1300m at Northam.
The value play. He arrives in terrific form with two wins and two seconds from his recent campaign and maps to settle handy, which suits a track favouring forward runners. He is proven on good ground and has plenty of upside for his age.

Vampi Queen is the progressive mare of the field, having won impressively over this track and trip last start. She maps to settle much closer than last time and the Belmont track pattern favours her on-pace style. The class rise is a genuine query, but she is lightly raced and appears to have more to offer. She's the one to beat.
Cosmic Treat comes off a narrow second in this grade at Belmont and draws the prized inside barrier. She should get the run of the race just behind the speed and is a reliable placegetter. However, her winning strike rate is low and she may again find one too good.
Ocean Goddess is a class runner resuming from a first-up win, but her second-up record is a concern and she maps to settle well back. Belmont's on-pace bias makes her task difficult, though her best form would be good enough. She's a place hope at best.
Azabelle was a big improver last start, finishing third in this grade at Belmont. She possesses early speed and could take up the running, which is a plus given the track pattern. The wide draw is a concern, but at 26-1 she is an attractive each-way gamble if she can cross without spending too much energy.
