The clear form pick. She was city-placed against far stronger company earlier in the year and resumed with an honest Ipswich fourth, running on well late. Second-up now for David Vandyke with Ben Thompson aboard, a pairing that goes well at Doomben.

Genuine on-pace mare racing consistently without winning. Her early speed is well suited to Doomben's forward lean and she maps to settle handy. A repeat of her latest effort puts her right in the finish.
A Doomben placegetter already, she is second-up for a stable that places these well. The concern is a habit of settling well back and she remains a maiden after seven starts, but the stable confidence looks meaningful.
Improving four-year-old who posted a career-best effort last time when second over 1300m at Toowoomba, travelling well in the run before going down fighting. She steps up to a suitable trip and maps to settle in the first half of the field.

Spring Carnival On Sale Now Mdn Plate
The most reliable formline in the race. He has gone within a whisker over 1350m at Ipswich and again over 1200m at Eagle Farm, settling midfield both times and finishing hard. The only knock is that he has never quite got the job done, but this is his best chance yet.
He led over 1400m at the Gold Coast last start and was beaten a nose with blinkers on for the first time, producing the best single run in this line-up. From barrier 2 he can lead or sit handy, which is exactly where you want to be over 1350m at Doomben. The concern is consistency and a jockey who has been struggling for winners locally.
A consistent on-pace maiden who did everything but win over this exact course and distance last start, settling fifth and finishing second. The map suits him well from barrier 6 — he should land in the first handful and give himself every chance in a race where forward positions are favoured. He keeps finding one better, but he is a reliable one to run into a place.
From barrier 1 he should lead or sit right on the speed, exactly the profile that wins 1350m maidens at Doomben. His form in Queensland maidens is honest — a couple of narrow seconds and a third — and his last-start flop came after racing wide from a poor gate.

Flaressence is the one runner here with a real race-day performance, leading the whole way at Eagle Farm over 1000m and only being grabbed on the post. She is the natural leader from barrier four and Doomben's sprint profile heavily favours horses on the speed. A drying Good 4 plays to her strengths.
He draws the advantageous inside barrier and gets an in-form Daniel Moor aboard, a combination that maps to sit midfield with cover.
By Spirit of Boom out of a Gollan yard that produces ready-made two and three-year-olds, he has the profile of a maiden winner. The query is his anticipated settling position well off a moderate speed over a sharp 1110m, which is not ideal at Doomben.
He has contested much stronger races than a midweek maiden and the first-time ear muffs and nose band suggest the Munce team is looking to sharpen him.

Rosso Levanto is the form runner of the race. She settles in the first few, which suits a slowly run staying contest and Doomben's on-pace lean, and both stable and rider are going well.
She has run to a winning standard over 2000m in two of her last three and races handily, an ideal position for a slow-tempo staying race at Doomben with the inside draw. She has won here before and her jockey rides the track well.
Cantarito is an improving Waller mare who won a 1700m event at Ipswich last start, producing one of the best clock performances in this line-up when sweeping home from midfield. She is a reliable place-getter with a stack of minor placings and her jockey is riding in excellent form. The concern is her get-back style from a wide gate in what shapes as a slowly run staying contest, so she is preferred for the minors.
Our Turn Now appeals as the each-way value. The six-year-old is drawn the inside gate and races on the pace, exactly the profile that suits a slow-tempo staying contest at Doomben where forward, inside runners are favoured. He led and went under narrowly over 2020m last start and drops in class here.

Sky Racing Hcp (C2)
He drops out of stronger Brisbane company and ran the best race of anyone here last start, charging home for second at Ipswich after racing wide throughout. He has the early speed to cross from the wide gate and settle handy, which suits Doomben's on-pace lean. Top weight and the mile query are the risks, but his class edge is clear.
Won at this trip and grade last start and that was the strongest performance in the field, settling off them before running over the top. He also has a win and two placings from four Doomben starts, so he handles the track. The worry is his get-back style at a venue that rewards horses on the speed, plus a jockey who has gone 20 rides without a winner.
Maps to get the run of the race from barrier two, settling just off the speed with only 53kg on his back. He has won here before and his mile record is honest, and his rider is going very well. The knock is a poor winning strike rate, one win from 18 starts, and he was plain in weaker grade at his last two outings.
He is the likely leader from a good draw at a track that strongly favours horses on the speed, and he gets class relief after contesting stronger races. He is a non-winner though, with no wins from seven at the trip and a habit of fading when he leads.

Gollan-trained gelding who saves his best for this course and trip, with three wins from five at Doomben and three from eight over 1350m. Two starts back he won a Class 3 here in similar style, and his latest fourth in tougher company can be excused after he was checked at the start and hampered on the bend. A moderate tempo plays to his powerful finish and he is the one to beat.
Heathcote gelding who loves the 1350m and drops sharply out of tougher BM78 races.
He won this very race two starts ago, settling just off the speed, and returns to the same track, trip and grade. His latest run can be forgiven entirely after he was caught wide and crowded over 1600m. From barrier one he should get a soft run and he saves his best for Doomben and good ground. Solid each-way claims.
A remarkably consistent on-pace gelding who is rarely out of the finish, with a win and two placings from his last three Brisbane outings at a similar level. He should settle second in a moderate tempo, which plays to Doomben's on-pace lean.

Ladbrokes Mates Mode Hcp (C2)
The class runner of the field, dropping back from stronger company after two cracking closing efforts over 1000m. She saves ground from the inside alley and a hot early tempo should play right into her hands, letting her sweep home late. Top jockey-trainer combination and the right race shape make her the one to beat, though she will need luck to thread through traffic from back in the field.
A fast mare on the upgrade who led all the way to win over this track and trip last start. She is the quickest horse out of the gates and should take up a forward position from a good draw, exactly where you want to be at Doomben. Steps up in grade but is lightly raced with more to come.
A consistent Gollan-trained galloper who has been competitive in stronger three-year-old company and comes off two trial wins. Among the better chances if he settles closer than expected.
She won doing it easily at Ipswich and drops in weight, and the leading local stable has her going well.
