The Waterhouse/Bott mare arrives without a start but with a trial profile that reads better than anything else here — she won her Gosford heat on a Soft 5 and her Randwick heat on Good ground, with her raceday rider aboard both times.

TAB Mdn Plate
The most exposed runner in the race and the most reliable. Three starts have produced a placing at Kensington, a narrow second over further at this track and a fair effort at Rosehill, all of them run at a standard good enough to win an ordinary midweek maiden. She has the best early speed in the field and Warwick Farm sprints heavily favour runners in the first three at the 400m. The wide gate is the only real query; if King can find the front cheaply she will take beating.
The barrier is ideal and the recent trial win with Clark aboard suggests she is ready. Against her is a settled-back pattern at a track where backmarkers struggle and a tempo unlikely to run along. Good enough to win, but she needs the race to open up for her.
The reliable placegetter of the race. Her on-pace style is ideal for Warwick Farm, but from barrier ten she will need to burn petrol early to get across, and with two genuine leaders inside her the map is not straightforward. Better place prospect than winner.
Three starts have produced a second and a third over 1200m, and she has been beaten less than half a length on a soft surface at Wyong. Her last-start Kensington fourth was the strongest finishing effort of anyone in this field despite being pushed back early.

Exceedance @ Vinery Stud (Bm68)
Unbeaten in terms of hitting the board and both runs have come at this track. His last-start third was full of merit with a big weight, leading throughout and only losing out late. Warwick Farm sprints reward horses that sit on or near the speed and he is the most natural leader in the field. The outside gate is the concern — he will have to work to cross — but the tempo looks only moderate and he should get his own way in front.
Beaten a long way in the Silver Shadow last start but that was Group company and the run itself was far better than the margin reads. She drops sharply in class today, gets a gun barrier, and has already proved she handles rain-affected going by winning an open handicap on a soft surface. The trial win suggests she is ready to improve second-up, and the Clark-Waterhouse/Bott booking is a positive. Distance is the small query.
His Gosford win on a Soft 5 was the most impressive effort in this race and he did it doing plenty of work. He maps to get a lovely trail from the inside gate, he handles rain-affected going, he has already been competitive here at Warwick Farm, and the jockey-trainer combination is one of the most profitable in Sydney. The class rise is real but he looks above average.
He is a proven soft-track winner, he has run a placing or better at four of his five starts, and his most recent effort at Hawkesbury was compromised when he was stuck for a run turning in. Kris Lees has a terrific record at Warwick Farm, the barrier gives him a handy trip on a track that rewards on-pace runners, and the gelding operation has him racing with more purpose. Solid each-way value.

Asahi Super Dry (Bm72)
He has won three of his past four, including a BM72 on a rain-affected Canterbury track, and his beaten run at Kensington came with a legitimate excuse after being held up for most of the straight. Unbeaten on soft ground, drawn to settle handy in what shapes as a tactical, slowly run staying race, and ridden by a jockey in form. The only genuine query is the step to 2140m, and his strong late work suggests he will see it out.
An unexposed stayer taking a class rise but with the profile to handle it. His only career win came over further on a bog track, so the extra ground and the rain today are genuine positives rather than questions. Both Australian runs read better than the bare result after slow starts, and he settled right on the speed at Hawkesbury last time. Baker and King keep clicking. If he jumps cleanly from barrier six he should be in the finish.
The concerns are real though: widest gate, a get-back style, a likely slow tempo and a track that rewards on-pace runners. Each-way is the sensible play.
The race sets up with only one genuine leader in poor form, and she is a mare who can stride forward from a good gate and give a kick, exactly as she did winning at Hawkesbury last start. Her Coffs Harbour second in open grade was much better than it looked.

Racing and Sports (Bm78)
Her second at Warwick Farm over this trip three weeks ago was comfortably the best run any of these has produced, and she did it from last on the turn giving the winner a start. She is proven wet, proven at the mile, proven at the track, drops half a kilo and keeps the rider who knows her.
Her Warwick Farm third over this course and distance a fortnight and a half ago was a genuine winning-standard performance and she was only beaten a length. The only real hesitation is she has not yet won on a rain-affected surface and she gives weight all round, so each-way is the sensible way in.
She was full of merit at this track last start under a big weight and the mile should genuinely suit, with a talented rider and an in-form stable behind her. Against that, she is a one-win mare going up in grade from the widest gate, wants a strong tempo she may not get, and is ridden for luck.
She is the best-credentialled miler in the race on raw record, comes back sharply in grade after campaigning in Open company, handles the wet and draws the inside with Kerrin McEvoy up for a stable that wins nearly a third of its races here.

Kia Ora Bloodlines To Headlines (Bm72)
The soundest form horse in the race. He has won over this course and distance, has been placed at all three runs this time in and his recent efforts have all been up to a winning standard at this grade. Barrier four gives Zac Lloyd the option to sit third off the two leaders, which is exactly the spot that wins mile races at Warwick Farm. Wet ground is no issue.
His last-start Rosehill effort was better than it looked after he hung under pressure. Against him are the 60kg on a soft surface, a blank record from four Soft-track runs and a first try at the mile at a track where getting back is a genuine handicap.
Consistent, honest and beaten a whisker last start over 1550m at Canterbury. He should find the front or sit just off from barrier five, and with only two genuine leaders in the race he can dictate a sensible tempo — a pattern that wins plenty here. The reservation is the wet ground, where he is winless from four attempts and faded after leading on a Soft Canterbury surface last month.
The one runner whose wet record genuinely stands out — two wins and a placing from five Soft-track starts plus a win at this track. His Warwick Farm run last time was much better than fifth suggests after being held up for a run in the straight, and it was the best effort of his campaign. Barrier two lets McEvoy park him closer than he has been, which is the key adjustment.

Zoustar $200m Progeny Earnings (Bm78)
The most complete profile in the race. She has been racing at this level with genuine credit, winning a metropolitan race of this grade and running placings in her other recent city assignments. Her best efforts read as winning-standard runs, clearly stronger than what the rest of these have produced. A featherweight 56.5kg alongside rivals lumping 58.5kg and upwards is a big edge on a Soft 5, and she already has two placings at Warwick Farm. Lloyd stays on.
The run-style profile is the only thing against him. His last two starts read far worse than they were — he was shifted back, hung out and checked when trapped on heels, and still finished off strongly both times. He handles soft ground well, has won here, and steps to a slightly kinder assignment. Collett knows the track.
The jockey booking and the track-and-distance win are the attractions. He handles the ground, he is at his right level and barrier four should let McDonald put him closer than he usually settles, which matters at a circuit where backmarkers struggle. The reservations are the weight and the fact that his recent efforts, while honest, have not been as strong as the top pair's.
The overlooked runner in the race. His last three starts have been placings and the two at this grade were the strongest efforts anyone in this field has produced, both achieved doing the donkey work in front from impossible wide gates. Today he draws seven and gets a much easier run in the lead at a circuit that consistently favours on-pace types.

Schweppes (Bm72)
She won this track on this going last start, hitting the line strongly in a race that measured up to today's level, and the two soft-track wins from three attempts make her the most proven wet performer in the field. Gate four gives Morgan every option in a moderately run 1200m where handy runners hold the advantage.
She is drawn to sit just off the pace at a track that rewards that pattern and wet ground plainly suits.
But she is a backmarker in a race with only a moderate tempo at a circuit where runners settled behind midfield win barely one time in twenty, and a single career win makes her short.
From gate nine she rolls forward to the on-pace position that wins races at Warwick Farm, and she handles rain.
