Her recent maiden runs have been the quickest in the field, she has early speed to take a handy spot, and the stable is hot. Barrier 13 is a real concern at a track that favours forward runners, but the rider should find a position.

Fullheadofsteam is the likely leader in a moderate-tempo race at a track that favours front-runners, and he has run into the placings at maiden level recently. However, he is winless in 13 starts, carries top weight from a wide gate, and tends to fade late.
Fairline was a creditable sixth last start after settling at the tail of a big field, and she looks to be improving. The risk is the map, as a moderate tempo and a track biased toward leaders do not favour backmarkers. She is a place chance with some upside, and has the gear changes and second-up run in her favour.
Makenzie finished a narrow second at Port Lincoln in March and has since placed in two jump-outs, a sign she is going well. She should be midfield on a light weight in a race with no standout.

The only real front-runner in a moderate-tempo maiden sprint at a track that rewards forward runners. Vasilias has run to a winning standard at this track and trip and is coming off a good trial second. Barrier 11 is a concern, but Potter should still be able to hold a handy spot. He is a maiden of many starts, but he is the most likely winner on form and map.
She carries the lightest weight from a good barrier. She needs to get handy from midfield, and stable and jockey records here are poor. The map and connections stop her from being the top pick.
He rates a place chance, behind Vasilias and Uncommon Mind on form.
He has been placed third in three consecutive jump-outs. The stable knows the track well, and the gear changes show purpose. He is a sensible value play.

Lincoln Mower & Motorcycle (Bm68)
The best fit for the conditions. This gelding has a strong record at Port Lincoln, wins on Good ground and should settle close to the lead in a slow-run race at a track where the leaders dominate. His jockey knows him well, and he is dropping in grade.
He gets barrier 1 and a light weight, so he can take a forward position in a slow-run race.
He is not selected as the top pick because he has to carry top weight, he has never raced here and he is likely to settle off a slow pace on a leader-favouring track.
A speculative overlay. He is likely to get an easy lead in a slow-run race at a track where leaders win a lot, and he carries the least weight. The class rise and poor record on Good ground are real negatives, and he tends to tire when leading.

Q Mechanical (Bm64)
Spiritual Gal is the most likely winner on form. She is the one proven Port Lincoln 1000m front-runner in the field, with a course-and-distance win and a series of strong runs there. Positional bias favours leaders, and her best runs have been close to the winning standard.
Strawberry Swing is an on-pace type with a proven Port Lincoln sprint record and a good first-up record. She gets a handy trail behind the leaders and carries only 54kg.
She has been competitive at city level and won her trial here.
Shuttle Run is the pick of the overs. He has speed, a strong trial here and a good record at this track and distance.

Kym Clarke Construction (Bm66)
The most reliable form runner in the field. Power Primo is a course specialist who won this grade here and ran second in a stronger race next time. She is also in fine order after a barrier trial win.
Top weight and 10 years old, but Sonny's Port Lincoln record is excellent and he drops in class from some very weak runs in town. He should lead, or be close to it, in a moderately run race, and he has won here at this level before.
A reliable placegetter who has run to a good standard at Bm66 and Bm70 level here. He tends to settle midfield or further back and finishes well, but the short Port Lincoln straight and moderate tempo may make that hard from barrier 10. Poor stable form is a worry. He is a sound place chance, but his win record is modest.
His third at Port Augusta over 1200m was a solid effort, and he won the barrier trial here three weeks ago. He has the right profile for a place at least, and is a genuine each-way chance.

Prescient has the most reliable form in a weak field. Barrier 11 is the concern, but a fast pace with two leaders should help a horse who can sit just off.
Dropping in grade and drawn mid-field, he should finish well off a fast pace.
Equine Headline has run well over this trip, finishing hard from midfield for a third in good company. Barrier 3 and a likely fast pace help, and she drops slightly in grade. The stable is cold and the topweight is a negative, but she is a fair place chance.
Another Bride gets the best of the map from barrier 2 and has already won at this track and distance.

Best map in the race. Chesteray is the clear leader, drew a workable gate and has just won a trial over this trip at the track. Leaders win at a high rate here and the stable is in form.
It races at the tail of the field, and Port Lincoln sprints are rarely won from the back. A fast tempo and a good jockey give it a real chance of getting up.
A consistent type with a handy gate and plenty of runs at 1000m. Champagne Effort should settle just behind the leaders and gets a good look in a fast race. A recent trial placing shows she is ready.
The Ineos has the best weight in the race, a class drop, a handy gate, and a proven record at this track and distance. A recent winning jump-out shows he is fit.

Yumbah Mussels Holdings Hcp (56)
He is strong first-up, gets blinkers back on, and drops no class. He lacks a Port Lincoln record and the draw is only fair, but he is the most likely winner.
Sir Panama has a very good record at Port Lincoln and over 1350m, and has been running solid placings at this class. The map is kind, with only one genuine leader and a moderate tempo. The extreme outside gate is the main concern, but he can still find a position, and he is a clear place chance with winning claims.
Dougal Mckeen is the improving type, having won last start with a good finish, and he has a fine distance record. The inside draw helps him find cover. Good ground is less ideal than the Soft he won on, and he must settle closer than he usually does.
Toorak Blaze ran a good race over this track and trip when third in a Bm66, finishing past beaten horses. He drops in class and has a good record on Good ground.
