From gate two he should control a moderate tempo and is the only horse in the field already running to a winning standard.

Country Motor Company Country Boosted Mdn Plate
A consistent, honest mare who is rarely far away — placed three times from 15, twice at this trip, and she has a soft-track second at Moruya where she finished off strongly. The Jarvis/Budler combination is flying and both have good records here. She'll settle midfield and needs a clean run, and the obvious query is her inability to put one away, but she looks the safest of the chasers for the placings.
Second-up off a fresh run where he led before fading over 1200m at Goulburn on soft ground. With almost no proven speed in this race he should be prominent from the middle gate, and his stable and rider both go well at Nowra.
Very lightly raced and she produced a big run on this track over this trip on heavy ground at her third start, closing strongly after being held up. First-up after four months, drawn wide and with no soft-track form to point to, so there is genuine risk.

South Coast Butchers Pantry Plate (C1)
Drops out of BM64 company into this ordinary Class 1 and brings the strongest form in the race — a closing third at Goulburn over 2000m last start after being hampered, and a sound Newcastle effort over 2300m before that. He was also close up in the soft at Canberra. He should settle handy in a race lacking early pressure, which is exactly where you want to be.
Winless but rarely far from the action, and his last-start third at Canberra over 2000m was a genuinely good effort after being caught three-wide working on the pace. He has a second here over this trip from his only visit and should roll forward into a race that looks short of early speed.
A consistent mare who has placed in three of her four soft-track starts and went close twice over 2000m at Canberra, including a narrow defeat two starts ago. She ran on well for fifth last time after settling a long way back. The concern is her get-back pattern in a race that shapes slowly run — she will need the leaders to come back to her rather than sprint away.
Winless in ten and hard to trust, but he is the probable pacesetter from the inside gate in a race where the speed map suggests an uncontested lead.

Greenwell Point Bowling Club Country Boosted (Bm58)
The most talented horse in this field off the clock. First-up at Moruya in a stronger Showcase grade he rattled home for third and was beaten less than a length, and his soft-track and second-up numbers are excellent. Brodie Loy, who rides this track better than anyone engaged, can sit him midfield and produce him late. The one worry is a slowly run race against his get-back style — but the class should carry him home.
A reliable place-getter who lands in the right spot for how this race shapes. With only one confirmed leader engaged, she should be able to lob on the speed from gate two and be the one they have to run down. Her last-start second at Queanbeyan had merit after doing early work, and her soft-track form is solid without winning. The 1400m is the unknown, but in a muddling race she is the most likely of the on-pacers to be in the finish.
The model of consistency without being a winner — three placings in his last four and a solid soft-track profile. Heywood is a strong track rider and the Dale stable is going well. The problem is the map: he drops out to near last and, with the pace likely to be slow, giving away a start here is a real risk.
He has raced here eight times for five placings and comes off a closing third over 1200m at this track where he was forced very wide on the turn. With virtually no speed engaged, his midfield position becomes an asset rather than a handicap.

Crookhaven Rokk Oysters Mdn Plate
The pick on form. His last-start third at Orange over 1300m stands out in this line-up — he over-raced early, was held up near the 100m and still hit the line strongly. A lightly raced three-year-old with clear upside, he gets weight from the older brigade, maps to settle fourth and runs for a stable with a strong record at this track.
He came from midfield for a close third over 1200m here last start on a soft track and has been crying out for further. The rise to 1400m should suit, though he will need to settle better than he did last time and his rider has yet to win at this course.
Ciaron Maher produces well-prepared first-starters and the booking of Brodie Loy, who rides this track at nearly 40 per cent, is a strong pointer. Two solid trials and the inside gate for a 1400m debut add up.
She has seven placings from fifteen starts and has been close up in solid maidens over 1300-1400m, including a narrow second at Moruya. The knock is the wide gate, which means she must work forward.

Antax Steel Mdn Hcp
She has two soft-track placings, is fitter second up and should lob just off a fast tempo with cover.
She is a Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott runner second up, with natural speed from gate eight and the stable's only runner at the meeting. The concern is she gets out late and two other on-pacers will keep the tempo honest, so the place side is the safer play.
Capdiva is a model of consistency without winning, having been a close second at Newcastle three starts back before being badly hampered at her latest. She has the early speed to slide across and sit just off what should be a fast tempo, and her rider is going well at this track. Eight starts without a win and a wide draw mean a placing is the realistic target rather than the top prize.
An experienced maiden resuming after a long break with two trials behind him, the latest a winning hit-out over 1000m. He has already placed here over this trip, has two soft-track placings and his trainer has a very good record at Nowra.

Brundee Blooms Greenwell Point Cup (Bm66)
Abstruse has been placed in her last two Bm66 sprints and ran to a winning standard in both. She handles soft ground, is fit, and has a top-flight Nowra jockey who knows her. Top weight and a wide gate are negatives, but she should be running on strongly late.
Girls Weekend has genuine ability and her best form is a clear step above most of this field. She is drawn well and should be handy in a moderately run race. Resuming on a soft track after a long break is a worry, as is her poor last run on rain-affected ground, so she is a contender rather than a banker.
The form behind her is patchy, though: the last start was a big drop-off and she has not won on soft ground.
Nights Inferno ran on well for third at Cootamundra in this grade and distance, and he has won on soft ground before. He should settle in the first few and gets a decent chance in a moderate tempo.

Pelican Rocks Cafe Town Plate Hcp (C1)
The best form runner on the day. She won last start on a Soft 5 at Newcastle, is second-up and has the best wet-track record in the field. A moderate tempo and a back-of-field map are the worry, but she covers ground well and a good run home at Nowra suits her.
A consistent, lightly raced mare who has finished in the first three every time. She should be handy in a moderately run race with the lead open, and the stable has an excellent record at Nowra. The wide barrier is the main concern, but she handled Soft 5 at the trip first-up and sits at the right class level. A solid place chance with genuine winning claims.
A wet-track performer who has raced well on soft and heavy ground and won on a Soft 7 two starts ago. Last start was a flat run, but earlier efforts show she runs on well and handles the conditions. The back-of-field map is a risk in a moderate tempo.
A young gelding who has improved with each start and won last start on a Soft 5 by getting up on the line. The stable is in form, and the draw is good. Each-way appeals.
