Fasvara represents the value alternative with a strong 50% strike rate and proven soft track ability. The lightly-raced 3YO has won 2 of his last 3 and was placed at this track/distance last start. While the class rise from Class 3 to BM70 is significant, the horse showed BM65 ability earlier in his prep and has the scope to improve. The soft track suits and barrier 13 is workable in these conditions.

Caloundra RSL (Bm70)
Hellarious is a progressive 4YO mare with solid soft track credentials and a significant weight advantage. While she has the right profile (soft track form, good barrier, in-form jockey), she's untested at this level and has no experience at 1200m.
Out Of Turn is the clear form selection with a perfect 2:2 record at this track and distance, including consecutive wins here on soft tracks. The gelding is a proven soft track specialist (4 wins from 7 starts) and has the ideal jockey/trainer combination. While barrier 14 is wide, the soft surface minimizes this disadvantage and the moderate tempo allows settling options. The 5kg weight rise is a concern but the horse has carried similar weights successfully.
The gelding has a solid course record (6:1-2-1) and the inside barrier 3 provides tactical advantage in a race with no genuine leaders. However, the soft track record is concerning (only 1 win from 5 starts on soft) and the class rise from Class 4 to BM70 is significant. The each-way value is appealing given the improving form trend and proven wet track ability, but this is a speculative play banking on the last start form translating up in grade.

Sherrin Rentals (Bm80)
Balance The Books has the best recent form with a dominant BM78 win last start and excellent soft track credentials (50% win rate). While her class and form suggest she's a winning chance, the wide draw in a moderate tempo race is a critical negative that makes her vulnerable to better-drawn rivals. Place prospects remain strong if she can overcome the barrier.
His BM78 win two starts ago and narrow 4th last start show he's competitive at this level. The Sandkuhl/Hoysted combination is effective (14% strike rate) and the gelding's 40% track win rate demonstrates he handles the venue. While barrier 3 isn't ideal and he's rising slightly in grade, his consistency and proven ability in these conditions make him a genuine place chance with upset potential.
Arabian Rose is the standout selection based on her exceptional record at this exact track and distance (3 wins from 4 starts). Her 50% win rate on Soft tracks and ideal barrier 8 draw align perfectly with the track bias favouring middle gates. The significant class drop from Listed to BM80 after an excusable Heavy 9 run last start positions her ideally.
The outstanding 50% strike rate with jockey Stanley (3 wins from 6 rides) is a major positive, as is Stanley's 35% success rate at Sunshine Coast. While barrier 12 is a concern and his Heavy 10 win may not translate directly to Soft 5, the class drop and proven track form make him a value overlay.

Lightly-raced gelding with outstanding fresh form who won impressively at Doomben first-up. The Gollan/Thompson combination is potent and the horse appears to be improving rapidly. Second-up fitness should be optimal for a horse with this profile.
The 40-day gap is a concern but he's shown he can perform fresh. Ryan Maloney's booking suggests connections believe he's ready to fire.
Consistent Better Than Ready colt with proven black-type form who handles wet conditions well, evidenced by his Listed 3rd on Heavy 9. His 75% place rate shows reliability and he's clearly above average for this grade based on that Listed placing. However, barrier 13 is a significant concern on a track that favors inside runners, and he has no Sunshine Coast experience. The jockey/trainer combination has no wins from 11 rides which is another negative.
The pedigree is excellent for wet tracks and 2YO racing, and she gets a significant barrier advantage today (3 vs 11 on debut).

Foreign Press presents as the class runner dropping from Listed grade to Open company, giving her a significant edge over this field. Her Soft track record is outstanding (3-2-0 from 5 starts) and she's proven at this track and distance. While top weight and barrier 8 are concerns, her class and wet-track ability should prevail. Elite Gollan stable and proven Graham combination add further confidence.
Get Ready Lass brings strong first-up credentials (50% strike rate) and proven form at this track and distance, having won here previously. Her consistency at Open level is evident with multiple close placings at Eagle Farm, and her Soft track form is solid. However, barrier 14 is a significant handicap on a track showing strong inside bias, and she'll need to overcome this from a standing start after 124 days. The jockey change to Dylan Gibbons (no prior combination) adds another query.
The moderate tempo and lack of genuine leaders means his inside draw advantage is diminished. While he has won at this track on Soft, the combination of first-up query and class rise makes him vulnerable.
Third-up and racing with confidence, he maps perfectly from barrier 5 in a moderate tempo race. However, the class rise from Class 1 to Open is SIGNIFICANT and cannot be ignored - he was maiden grade three weeks ago. If he can handle the step-up in grade, his fitness, Soft track ability, and ideal racing pattern make him a serious winning chance.

Kevlacat Power Boats Plate
Wanda Rox presents as the analytical top pick based on her exceptional first-up record (83% strike rate) and dominant 1000m form (8 wins). While the 110-day spell and unfamiliarity with Sunshine Coast are concerns, her class advantage as a Listed winner dropping to 54kg, combined with an inside barrier on a Soft track that favours forward runners, outweighs these negatives.
Her consistent Listed form (two placings in last two starts) combined with a positive gear change (blinkers off, winkers on) and the crucial barrier 1 draw on a Soft track that favours inside runners makes her a strong threat. While her overall win rate is modest, she's proven on soft tracks (3-5-2) and dropping from Listed to Open company. The inside rail position is a significant tactical advantage in a race with no genuine leaders.
King Yoshi is the track specialist with an outstanding 50% win rate at Sunshine Coast (7 from 14) and specifically 6-2-3 at this exact track and distance. His first-up record (2-0-1 from 4) and soft track form (3-1-1) align perfectly with today's conditions. However, barrier 14 is a significant negative that cannot be ignored - it forces him wide in a moderate tempo where forward position is crucial. While his track dominance suggests he can overcome this, it's enough to rank him third behind horses with better barrier draws.
As a Group 3/Listed performer dropping to Open company with proven wet track ability, he represents genuine upset potential. The 208-day spell is the major concern, but his first-up history suggests he can be competitive fresh.

Double R Group Winx Guineas
His soft track record (50% win rate) is elite, and barrier 6 is perfect for securing an ideal on-pace position in what shapes as a slow tempo. Proven at this track with two placings, the improving gelding is peaking at the right time. The 1600m is a query (0-0-0), but his staying-on win at 1350m and pedigree (Spieth) suggest he'll handle it. Major class rise is the concern, but his current form and conditions suitability outweigh this.
Platinum Pantheon is a genuine Group performer who ran well for 2nd last start behind Kohler Kid. His wet track credentials are proven (2 wins on Heavy 8), though he's yet to win on soft specifically (0-3-0 record). The major concern is barrier 16 at 1600m - he'll need exceptional luck to overcome this disadvantage on a track that favors forward positions. Class and consistency keep him competitive, but the wide gate significantly reduces winning chances. Better suited as place/each-way proposition given the barrier.
While she's a genuine Group 1 performer, the critical statistics are damning: 0 wins from 4 attempts at 1600m, and 0 wins from 4 starts on soft tracks. She's a placegetter at this distance and conditions, not a winner. The 5-day backup from a G1, combined with barrier 11 on a track that heavily favors forward positions, further reduces her chances. Place chance only.
Cellarmaster offers speculative value as a Group 2-placed performer who handles soft tracks and the 1600m distance. However, his form is clearly declining (5-4-3 last three), and the 19-day gap suggests connections may be searching for answers. His Group 2 placing at 1500m shows he has the class, and his soft track win proves conditions suitability. This is a roughie play for those seeking an upset, banking on class resurgence rather than current form.

Stanley River Thoroughbreds Caloundra Cup
The standout selection with a perfect 2400m record and dominant soft track form. Last start Listed winner at the exact distance and track condition, beating several of today's rivals convincingly. The 4YO gelding is a proven wet-track specialist who relishes staying trips. While the wide draw is a concern, the track bias shows no significant barrier disadvantage on Soft. Light weight and strong jockey booking provide further advantages.
An improving 4YO who won impressively last start in Listed grade at 2150m on Soft 5. The light weight, strong soft track form, and proven ability at Sunshine Coast make this an attractive proposition. While stepping up to 2400m for the first time is a query, the breeding suggests the distance is within range and the recent form trajectory is upward. The jockey booking of in-form Emily Lang adds confidence.
The 7YO has proven soft track credentials and thrives at 2400m despite not yet winning at the trip. The inside barrier is a significant advantage in what shapes as a tactical, slow-tempo race. While the weight and lack of a recent win are concerns, the class edge from Group racing and proven ability to run the distance strongly make this a solid each-way proposition.
The 4YO gelding has proven soft track credentials and is bred perfectly for the staying test (So You Think). The light weight of 53.5kg provides a significant advantage over recent runs, and the pedigree suggests further improvement at extreme distances. Each-way value proposition.

Gerringong is the standout on class and form. With a solid soft track record (7:1-2-1) and proven ability at 1400m, she maps to settle midfield from barrier 2 and finish powerfully. The only concern is jockey Dylan Gibbons having no Sunshine Coast experience, but her class edge is substantial.
Carrying the lowest weight of 53kg gives her a significant advantage over rivals carrying 54-60kg. With a solid soft track record (6:2-0-1) and proven ability at 1400m, she's well-suited to conditions.
Band Of Brothers is a genuine contender based on his track specialization and second-up record. He won at this exact track and distance previously and boasts a strong second-up record of 3:1-0-2. However, barrier 18 is a major concern in a slow tempo race with no genuine leaders - he'll be forced wide throughout with no cover. The light weight of 54kg helps, but the wide draw significantly reduces his winning chances despite his obvious suitability to the race. Place chance only.
While barrier 13 is a concern and stepping up in class, the soft track specialist credentials and current form trajectory override these negatives.
Compelling value proposition with outstanding soft track credentials (75% win rate) and strong local course form. Won last start at nearby Ipswich in Listed grade on Soft 5, providing perfect form reference. The 50% strike rate at Sunshine Coast (2 wins from 4) is a significant edge, and the 40% win rate at 1400m confirms distance suitability. Light weight of 55kg and advantageous barrier 10 position enhance chances. Main concern is class rise, but soft track and local knowledge factors outweigh this.
The light weight of 54kg is a significant advantage, and jockey Justin Stanley has an excellent 35% strike rate at Sunshine Coast.

Height 4 Hire (Bm85)
Bengal Diamond presents as the most reliable winning chance based on recent form at this exact level. The mare won a BM85 at Eagle Farm on Soft 5 last start, demonstrating she handles both the class and conditions. Her soft track record (14:4-1-0) is superior to most rivals, and the 1400m distance suits perfectly (4:2-0-1). The Thompson/Campton combination is in excellent form. While the inside barrier and first-time winkers are queries, her proven ability at this level on soft ground makes her the standout selection.
North Pole is a talented young gelding with outstanding wet track credentials and a dominant last-start win on Heavy 8. His record on rain-affected tracks (9:4-2-1) is exceptional, and he's proven he can win at higher levels than BM85. However, his second-up record (0 wins from 3 attempts) is a significant concern that cannot be ignored. While he has the class and conditions in his favour, the historical pattern suggests he may need this run. The middle barrier suits, and if he can overcome the second-up query, he's a major winning threat. Rates as the main danger to Bengal Diamond.
Express Payment arrives in excellent form after a close second at BM90 level and a BM78 win before that. The stable's decision to rise in grade from BM90 suggests confidence, and while he's never won above BM78, he's clearly competitive at this level. The wide barrier is a concern, though Soft 7 reduces the penalty. Rodd's poor recent form is a negative, but he knows the horse well. Represents solid each-way value as a consistent performer who should be in the finish.
Dropping back from Listed grade after a solid 3rd placing, she won at this exact level two starts ago on an identical Soft 5 surface. The Maloney/Maher combination adds confidence, and while the inside barrier is a concern based on recent bias data, her class edge and tactical versatility should overcome it.
Both wins came at Sunshine Coast 1400m, including one on Soft 5, proving he handles these conditions. His wet track record overall (16:4-4-1 on soft/heavy) is excellent, and he's been competitive at BM78 level with consistent placings. While rising slightly in class and drawn awkwardly in barrier 4, the track/distance specialization cannot be ignored.
