Quirky Princess is the form horse of the field. She broke through over 2100m last start and ran her best race here over this exact trip on the same soft surface, doing it tough from off the pace. She maps to settle in a handy midfield spot rather than last, which is important in a race that may be run at a modest tempo, and both her stable and rider are in form. The one query is that she is yet to win on soft ground.

ISEC Plate (C1)
He is trained and ridden by the most effective local partnership and looks to be looking for further. The knock is that he is still a maiden, steps past 1600m for the first time, and his get-back style could be blunted if this is a sit-and-sprint affair. Preferred as a place play.
North Terrace looks the one to lead and the tempo map says nobody will pressure him, which makes him dangerous at a track with long runs to the turn. He is dropping out of a much stronger Sydney staying handicap, and his close second on a heavy surface over a middle distance two runs back shows he handles these conditions. The concern is that he has been well beaten at his last two and is a one-win horse from sixteen starts.
Ominous is the each-way play. He was close up in a Class 1 and a maiden before a last start where he was slow out and never on terms, a run that can be forgiven. With a likely modest tempo and a good gate he can hold a spot just off the leader, and the stable and jockey have had success together.

Coolmore Country Boosted Mdn Plate
She won her most recent Scone trial on soft ground by two and a half lengths after an improved second trial, and the trainer-jockey partnership has a superb record here. The outside gate and the step to 1400m at her first start are the risks, but the stable knows what it has and the confidence is obvious.
That was twelve months ago, but her first-up run this preparation was fair and she now steps to the trip that clearly suits.
She drops out of Class 1 company into a maiden and returns to 1400m, the trip where she has her best record, including a close second on soft at Tamworth two starts back where she made an early move and fought on. She maps to settle handy in a race without much pace and her rider is in form. Two plain runs at the mile are a worry, but back to this trip and grade she is a live chance.
She looks the likely leader in a race with no established speed, and she is a genuine wet-track placer with five minor cheques on soft ground plus a second here at Scone. She was honest again last start when fourth over a mile after doing the work in front.

TAB Magic Millions Gold Coast Carnival (Bm82)
The mare has won four from four at this track and four from six on soft ground, and she was dominant winning over 1400m here last preparation before taking an open handicap at Muswellbrook. She was only fair at Rosehill last time when the race shape went against her. The unknown is the mile: she has never raced beyond 1400m, and the query is whether she is as effective over the longer trip on a steady tempo.
A lightly raced entire who ran a good second over 1800m on soft ground in Queensland two starts back and has won half his starts at the mile. Lees and Bullock combine at a high strike rate and this horse is improving with racing. The concerns are that he resumes off a long break, his recent trials were only even, and a get-back style in an expected slowly run race may leave him too much ground to make up.
The four-year-old is the one they all have to beat. He resumed with the most convincing win of anything engaged here, coming from the back at Rosehill, and last preparation he was placed in Highway grade on both soft and heavy. Second-up last time he won at this trip. The knock is the rise out of Highway company into an open 82, and he is yet to win on a damp track, but his best is clearly good enough.
He won an open handicap over this trip at Tamworth two runs back with a strong surge from midfield, then boxed on honestly in this grade over further on a soft track.

Kia Ora Hcp (C1)
The clear form horse in a thin Class 1. Led and kicked clear first-up at Muswellbrook, and the run before the spell was a second in a city two-year-old handicap where he took the lead and fought on. Draws perfectly to find the front again in a race with no other natural leader, and the stable is strong at Scone.
A class dropper who ran the most convincing race of any runner here last start when a close second in a BM64 after sitting fourth on the rail. He won his only second-up appearance and gets this trip.
Honest on-pace gelding whose two runs before the break were both seconds - one at Gunnedah in a Class 1, one at this track over 1300m. He maps to lob outside Rolling Home and the Bullock/Singleton combination is the best credentialed in the race. The reservations are the long break, an ordinary trial and the fact that every one of his good runs has come on soft ground.
Lightly raced and on the up. He led and fought hard to win his maiden on a rain-affected track and then won a trial here on soft ground in the past fortnight. He maps to settle in the first three in a race without a natural speedster, which is a genuine plus in this grade.
Lightly raced four-year-old with obvious ability but plenty against him. He won his maiden at Wangaratta and was doing his best work late over a mile at Pakenham before the spell.

Her Listed run at Scone was the best form in the race by a distance, and she has trialled well on soft ground since. She is dropping into maiden grade after a spell, which is a huge class advantage. She'll probably settle midfield, but a moderate tempo and a short straight-run margin keep her in the finish.
She looks the main threat. As the likely leader with a good barrier, she can dictate in a race with no proven pace type, and her previous run at Scone was a sound effort in a maiden. The stable and jockey are well-credentialed at the track, and she has trialled on soft ground.
The Wildling is the most proven maiden in the field, with a good second at Goulburn and consistent placings on soft ground. Stepping back to 1000m is a query, as is the inside draw, but she has been tested in this grade many times.
Blighty Boy is the value play. He ran a solid race on Soft 5 at Port Macquarie when he led or sat second, was only beaten about two lengths, and is now second up with a trial win in between. The stable is at its best at Scone, and he has the speed to settle on the pace.

Magic Millions Digital 23-28 Oct Sale Super Mdn Hcp
He won his Scone trial on Soft 5 and has a trainer and jockey in good order.
A tidy type who has been running on late without ever threatening the placings. Fresh off a spell, he gets a rail draw and the best jockey and trainer combination in the race. The pace map says midfield, which suits a moderate tempo where trailers have a lot to do.
Lees's mare was a solid third on debut over 1200m and has since trialled twice, including at Scone on Soft 5. With no obvious leader, she gets to dictate in a moderate tempo, which helps in a low-grade Maiden. A genuine place chance with a winning shot if she controls.
His last run on Soft 5 was close to a winning performance, charging home from the back. He is proven on the ground and race fit. A small each-way play.

He has won both starts, the latest in a quick time at Muswellbrook, and he finishes hard. The unknown is the soft going, the class rise and 61kg.
A genuine wet-track performer who has been first or second in her last three at Scone, including a narrow loss over this trip on soft. She is flexible in running and has proven toughness.
His recent form is as good as most in the race, with two narrow seconds in a row, and he should be handy in the run.
A Class 2 winner who has been racing well against this grade and has placed on every soft start.

Arrowfield Country Boosted (Bm82)
Hellcibell is the form sprinting mare in this field, placing at her last two starts in stronger company and holding a win and a placing over this Scone 1100m, including a close second in a soft-track BM82. She gets a valuable 3kg claim, maps to settle handy and handles soft ground.
Zampano is a lightly raced five-year-old on the up, finishing third in a BM82 at Tamworth last start after a nose second at C3 level. He has a good soft-track record, draws the inside and should settle midfield in a moderate tempo. The step to 1100m looks suitable for a horse with his late dash, and his trainer is in strong form.
Enterprise Legend is a proven Scone 1100m performer, having won a soft-track BM82 here and beating Hellcibell in the process. He drops to a light weight with the claim, maps to race on-pace and has a strong soft-track record. Recent runs were not as good, but he had wide trips and returns to his best track and distance.
Mystery Lad is the likely lone leader in a moderate tempo, which can be dangerous at Scone. He won two starts ago and was second last time, and he has a solid overall win and place record.
