The most dependable horse in the race. He found trouble on debut at Kilmore but still charged home for second on soft ground, then overcame a slow start to run third at Wagga before going down narrowly over the mile at Bendigo last time. He is placed over this trip, handles the give out of the ground and the form around him is clearly the strongest here. From midfield he should be storming home late.

She made ground for fourth on a rain-affected track at Bendigo after being checked, then chased a smart one home over the mile at Pakenham. Linda Meech is riding in great form and the stable knows how to place these. The query is her habit of missing the start — jump cleanly and she controls a slowly run race; miss it and she gives away an edge.
Lightly raced filly on the up. She closed off strongly for fourth on debut at Bendigo, then sat handy and kept giving to finish second over this sort of trip at Kilmore. With only two runs behind her she should improve again, and she carries well under the older horses. Good gate, good stable and an ideal racing pattern for what shapes as a slowly run race.
Badly overpriced on what she did last time. She had excuses at Seymour and Geelong, then stepped up to the mile at Bendigo and finished fourth, only a few lengths from the winner, settling closer and hitting the line well. A three-year-old filly with weight relief and more upside than most, she only needs to repeat that run to be in the finish. The wide draw is the obvious risk.

Terracotta Warrior brings the strongest exposed form into a thin maiden. His debut had plenty of merit after racing wide without cover, and he has since trialled well for this return. From barrier three he should lob into a handy position in a race lacking a clear leader. He is the one to beat.
Perfect Riposte is a well-related debutant from a leading stable and comes off a winning trial. The inside draw should allow him to settle close to the speed, and his pedigree suggests he will handle both the soft surface and the step to this trip.
Savfield is another promising first-starter, this time from the Waller yard, which has a strong record at Kilmore. He trialled nicely at Flemington and has drawn to get a soft run just behind the pace. A Savabeel gelding, he should appreciate the cut in the ground and the longer trip. Without race experience he is harder to rate, but he profiles as a top-three chance.
Mystic Rapture is a consistent mare who has been racing well without winning. She has early speed to offset a wide gate and has placed on soft ground and at Kilmore. She is a genuine each-way hope if she can cross without doing too much work.

Bryce Menzies Memorial Mdn Plate
Produced the eye-catching run of the race last time, storming home from last to grab second at Ballarat. She is second-up and should be fitter, drawn to get a soft trail. The query is the likely sedate tempo, which could leave her with too much to do from the back, but her closing speed gives her a genuine chance.
An untried filly from a high-profile stable that is going well, she has been readied with a couple of solid trials including a close second on soft ground.
Brings the strongest exposed form into an open maiden, having finished a close third on debut at Echuca after settling handy and hitting the line well. He maps to sit just off the speed, and with natural improvement from one run to two he is the one to beat.
A well-related debutant from a strong stable that has trialled nicely twice on rain-affected ground. The trainer-jockey partnership has an excellent strike rate, and the inside gate gives her every chance to settle handy.

Bill Harding Memorial (Bm56)
It should settle on or just off the speed in a moderate tempo. The class rise and the weight are real risks, but the lightly raced gelding is still on the way up and is the most likely winner.
He's been right in the finish at this level and will be handy under a leading Kilmore rider. There are doubts: the soreness after his last start, the 61kg on soft ground, and limited soft-track evidence.
A class-dropper who should lead with a light weight and a hot jockey. The doubt is that she tends to fade late when out in front, and her stable is struggling for winners. Barrier 9 is neutral for the sprint.

Paul 'Pegsy' Egan Memorial (Bm56)
Adieu Grasse is the most reliable form horse in a race that lacks a standout. She won on soft going, is racing in good order and has been running to a winning standard in recent starts, including a placing at Kilmore against stronger opposition. The wide gate is a worry, but her speed should find her a handy spot behind the leader in a moderately run race.
Elena Montero is a drop in grade and has a lightly raced soft win on her record. The jockey and trainer pairing has been highly successful and she gets a handy gate with a weight claim, which suits a moderate tempo. Her last two runs were underwhelming, but both were in stronger company and the class relief should help.
Siriusly Bright is a promising lightly raced mare who has won in heavy going and was solid in two jump-outs recently. She has the pace to get handy, but she steps up from a maiden plate to a Bench. 56 grade first up from a spell.
Heidi Dancer finished 10th last start in a difficult run, but she has shown ability in earlier runs including a win and placings at Good tracks. Linda Meech is in outstanding form and drops her into a lower grade here.

Vin Loader Memorial (Bm62)
Superstock is the class runner, dropping from a BM70 at Cranbourne where he made ground from the back. He has a clear liking for soft ground and is a proven winner at this distance and at this track. Top weight is a leveller but the weights are compressed and he can sit closer than he did last start. He is the most reliable winning chance.
Barrier one gives him options and a recent jumpout keeps him fresh. The concern is soft ground, where his only run was poor, and the stable is cold.
She was wide throughout at Ballarat last start and can be forgiven; her previous soft-track placing was honest. The Maher stable is going well and she should race prominently. She lacks a turn of foot but is a solid top-three chance if the track plays fairly.
State Of Affairs is the value play. He is a lightly raced stayer whose two runs this prep were both compromised by traffic, and he now gets out to a trip that suits. He won a 2208m maiden on soft ground by four lengths last prep and John Allen's track record is a plus.

Eric Buttler Memorial (Bm56)
Progressive mare who finally put it together last start, winning a 1400m handicap at Bendigo in this grade with the run of the race. She maps perfectly from gate five to sit just off what should be a moderate tempo, and she has two seconds on heavy ground so a holding Soft 5 holds no fears. The extra 2kg and an untried trip are the queries, but she's the most in-form and best-placed runner in the race.
She's been competing in deeper races in NSW and now gets out to a trip that clearly suits.
She brings the strongest piece of form into the race, a tough Wodonga win over 1400m where she came from off the speed and got there on the line, before finding a stronger race too hot last start. Back in grade with the inside alley she should lob into a lovely spot.
An honest old campaigner who has barely run a bad race this time in, rattling off a string of seconds and thirds including on soft and heavy ground and over this trip at Kilmore.

Stephen King Memorial (Bm56)
She won at Moe over the mile last start, charging home from midfield, and two runs back she was a close third here over this trip behind Dance Lady while chasing honestly. She settles in the first few, which is exactly where you want to be in a race without a natural leader, and the weight swing gives her a chance to turn the tables.
Honest on-paced mare who was beaten less than a length here over 1450m last start after settling in the first four. She has won and placed on soft going, gets a claim that eases her weight, and maps to sit right behind what should be an uncontested lead. The question mark is the extra 150m — she has looked one-paced at the end of her races over shorter trips — but she is a solid each-way proposition.
She was beaten a whisker in a stronger race over 1700m at Warrnambool last start, leading and fighting on bravely, and she drops back to this grade. She has won and placed on soft ground and can settle handy from a good gate. The concern is the 3kg weight rise off that run, but she is a legitimate winning chance and must go in.
A wet-track horse who has been dropping through the grades and gets his conditions again. His second on soft ground at Sale in August was a strong run after he was held up for a long way, and both runs since came with excuses.
