Sounds Of Peace has run to a winning standard at this track and distance, has been beaten only narrowly twice, and now gets the race shape she wants: likely to lead at a slow tempo on a circuit where front-runners hold a big edge.

Nine Choirs owns the second-best form in the race and has already proved she handles soft ground here. The concern is pattern rather than ability: she gets back, the pace looks slow and Launceston is unkind to backmarkers. From the rail she should at least get an economical run, and her strong finishes suggest the extra distance will help.
Sh'bourne Top Gun is the improver of the field. His second start was close to a winning effort over a trip too short for him and the pedigree says 1400m is where he will shine.
Joejoe is the forgotten horse. He has already produced a run of near-winning quality over this distance on a soft track and both his wet-track starts resulted in placings. He begins quickly and will be handy in a slowly-run race on a track that rewards that position. Small each-way play.

Ladbrokes Tote Win +10% In October (Bm60)
The only genuine leader in a slow-run race over a track where backmarkers struggle. Kakia loves the soft, has won twice at Launceston over this trip and gets a drop in class. The top weight is a concern after recent late fades, but a soft tempo and a nose roll first time should help him hold on.
I'm Chev gets a handy weight drop and a very strong stable and rider combination at Launceston. Mostly raced on synthetic tracks recently, but he has a win on soft and is running out his best distance. Midfield position suits a slow pace, though recent form is only moderate.
Snowdonia ran a great race to be narrowly beaten at this track over a similar trip and sits just behind the leader in a race that favours those up close. Soft ground is unproven for a win, but she has placed there often. Reliable placegetter with a good map and a fair weight.
Sky Eagle ran a strong second over this trip at Launceston in September and now drops in class with a light weight and a hot jockey.

Third-up and improving, he put up the best race of any runner with exposed form when a close fourth over this trip at Launceston a fortnight ago, doing his share of work on the speed. The tempo looks moderate with only one genuine leader engaged, so he can park handy from the wide gate and be strong through the short straight. Stable and rider strike rates are the query, but the form is clearly the strongest here.
Resumes after a break on the back of a real eye-catcher: from an outside gate at Hobart she was last on the turn over 1100m on soft and still finished fifth, beaten two lengths. She draws the inside today, should settle much closer, and the Keys/Kennedy partnership is one of the stronger in this race.
Sigrid Carr's yard is honest and the draw is fine, but there is no race-day evidence to lean on and recent stable and rider strike rates are only fair.
Bewicked is the form horse of the race: four starts, all at this track and trip, for two seconds and a third, including a narrow defeat last start when she led and fought on. She maps as the likely leader with little pressure, which suits a short-straight track and a moderate tempo.
She is the only genuine leader in the race. On debut she led at this track and trip and was still in the finish, beaten under two lengths, and she will be fitter and wiser second-up. A moderate tempo suits a mare that can dictate from the front, and her rider is going well here. The draw is a shade awkward but she has the speed to cross and take luck out of the equation.

Geegees Avalanche has been close to a winning standard at most starts, is soft-track proven and placed last time on this going. The concern is the map: from barrier 10 he is likely to settle back, and backmarkers win far less often here than elsewhere. First-time blinkers and a fresh trial give him the best chance to be closer.
Miss Strat has the second-best body of form and the better race setup. From barrier 6 she should settle midfield with cover rather than back on the fence, which matters on this short straight.
Kion's Kingdom brings the best single performance in the race, a close second here second-up in March, and he is second-up again. He led and faded fresh over this trip three weeks ago but should be fitter and may get an easier time sitting off Global Miracle. On-pace runners do well here under lights, which suits.
Her lone start was a feature race for two-year-olds on soft ground against far better horses than she meets tonight, and she sat on the speed before tiring. Now a maiden against older horses with 54kg, from a Trinder stable that is firing, she maps to be handy on a track where that matters.

Novalargo has run to a winning standard at every recent start at this level, was narrowly beaten fresh here three weeks ago, and is unbeaten second-up. From the inside gate she can sit just off a hot speed set by Vortistar and Dubai Affair and pounce late on a track that favours horses handy to the lead.
Vortistar owns the best winning-standard runs at this track and trip on soft ground, including his dominant first-up win four weeks ago. The big questions are the outside gate and whether he can lead without being pressed by Novalargo and Dubai Affair. If he crosses cheaply he is very hard to run down, but he has failed when taken on.
Dubai Affair has the most consistent recent form in the race and a fine record over this course and distance, with the stable's number one rider sticking with her. Her sticking point is a winless record from four first-up attempts, and she often tires late when fresh. Two sharp trials suggest she is forward enough this time.
Genuine Lady is the overlooked in-form runner. She led throughout to win here two weeks ago and before that was narrowly beaten over this track and trip on Soft 5, both runs up to the standard required to win today. She is lightly weighted and should be able to take a trail just behind the speed from barrier 7 if she does not lead.

Sh'bourne Power has run to a winning standard for this grade at each of his last three starts and was narrowly beaten here over this course and distance on the same going last month. He is a confirmed soft-track performer and a 1400m specialist, and his own runs show he usually settles fourth or fifth rather than at the tail.
Fighting For Gold is flying this preparation and her sprint win first up was a strong run, yet her last-start win was a leisurely affair that proves little. She has never won on soft ground, rises four kilos and draws the outside.
Go Jeanie keeps placing here without winning, which sums her up.
Flying Billie is the only runner who wants to lead, and with a slow tempo likely he gets to dictate on a track with a short straight. He handles soft ground, loves 1400m, drops in grade and carries just 56kg.

She is the only true front-runner in a race expected to be run at a moderate tempo, and her Launceston 1100m run on soft ground was among the best in the field. Her flat last start came over a longer trip, so the drop back to 1100m should suit. She can get an easy lead and stay out of trouble, which suits a short, tight track.
A last-start-but-one winner over this track and distance on soft ground, with a strong finish. The class drop helps. The key worry is the widest barrier and a back-field run in a moderately run race. He is likely to be forced to settle further back than ideal, but his finishing burst makes him a leading threat.
A very reliable placed runner who has strong form on soft ground and at this track. Her last start over 1100m showed she is fit and the race ran to a winning standard late. She is dropping in class, but the wide draw and a moderately run race could keep her away from the lead. She looks more of a place chance than a clear winner.
He won last start at this grade and has a strong soft-ground record plus a hot jockey and stable. He has to overcome a back-field run in a race without much pace, so he is a place-leaning chance rather than a confident winner.

Ken Hallet (Bm76)
He has won five of seven, four of them at Launceston and three on soft ground, and his recent runs have been to a winning standard in this grade or better. He won first up before and has trialled well. A moderate tempo suits his handy style.
A genuine soft-track performer who has won four of six on the surface, including at 1600m at Hobart. He is likely to lead in a moderate tempo from a good draw, and the jockey and trainer combination is hot.
A fit-looking first-upper with a good record fresh. He has the early speed to be handy in a moderate tempo and has finished close in a 1600m race at this track. The jockey is out of form and the soft going is a slight query, but he rates a good chance for the placings.
He won the same 1600m at Launceston last start with a powerful finish and has been consistent at this track. He will settle at the back, which is a concern when the pace is only moderate and runners from the rear rarely win here.

Her last-start third in a Class 1 over 2000m on soft ground here was the strongest recent run in this field, and she made good ground late. Barrier one and an on-pace map in a slowly run race are ideal.
The emerging horse of the race. The stable-jockey combination is in hot form and he has enough speed to be prominent.
The value in the top three. She is the only horse in the race with a win at this trip on soft ground, and she drops from tougher company into a Class 1. From barrier two she can box-seat in a slowly run race, which suits.
He is the likely leader in a race where the tempo looks slow, and he did box on for fourth in a stronger race on soft ground here two starts back. The tongue tie and a 3kg claim help. The obvious risk is stamina, having never run beyond 1650m and having faded at this track twice, plus a trainer without a winner here.

Little El produced the best run in this field last start, winning on a Soft 5 at Launceston after sitting handy and going clear. With a lone leader in Sir William and a slow tempo likely, she should settle third with cover and get first crack at the lead. Her second over this course and distance confirms the trip, and a mare with a Guineas win on her record is better than a Class 2 horse at her best.
Today she is likely to be getting back behind a muddling pace, which is the worst scenario for her.
Stollaway Ned has been the most consistent horse in the race, placing in four of five starts and running to a winning standard when second at this level over 1600m here last time. He was also beaten under half a length by Wolf Junior on a Soft 5 and meets that horse better at the weights. The concern is the map: he settles last in a slowly-run race, and his stable is cold.
From barrier one he should park in second behind a lone leader in a slowly-run race, which gives him every chance to be in the finish at the 200m. He won here last start after sitting on the pace and has placed over 1600m on soft ground.
