The most reliable form line in the race. Howdoyouzou has finished top-three at all five career starts and his last-start 3rd, beaten only half a length in Open grade at this exact course and distance, is a length or more superior to anything else here on raw merit. Fit off a winning trial.

Racecourse Village (Bm68)
Her Open-grade Doomben form beaten under a length twice reads better than the bulk of this field, she is proven at 1000m and has already been placed at Eagle Farm over the trip. The negative is a habit of running second rather than winning, and she has not yet won on a Good track. Strong each-way claims from gate 4.
A progressive, lightly raced mare with 2 wins from 4 starts whose last-start second, beaten a whisker after racing wide throughout and copping interference at the jump, was better than the result suggests. She is second up with a winning record at that run and her Good track and 1000m records both read 2:1-1-0. The one clear reservation is the map - she settles back and Eagle Farm on Good favours prominent runners, so she needs the anticipated fast tempo to unfold.
The clear value proposition. Her 1000m record of 3:1-1-0 from just four starts marks her as underexposed, and she has placed at five of her last six runs. The negatives are genuine: first up with a 2:0-1-1 fresh record and stepping up in class.

She was closing hard when second in Class 3 last start and gets in on 55kg from a fair gate. Her staying runs show her settling fifth to seventh, not last, so the map is workable.
Barcelo fits the Eagle Farm Good-track winner profile better than anyone: track winner, in form, drawn inside, and able to hold a prominent spot before the turn. He won convincingly last start under 60kg and had earlier placed in this exact grade at the track. The queries are the untried 2200m and the 59.5kg impost against light-weighted stayers, which is enough to keep him just behind the top pick rather than ahead of it.
Benzino is the most reliable frame runner in the race and the likely leader in a field with only two genuine on-pacers, which should let him control a slow tempo from gate 6.
Whatjeudoin' has the best raw distance record in the field, is proven on Good, and drew the inside gate in a race unlikely to be run at a strong tempo, which should let him settle closer than his backmarker label suggests — he was fifth and improving to lead at the 400m when winning last time.

The most reliable form line in the race and the one runner whose map matches what wins at Eagle Farm on Good. Beaten a combined length in his last two, both over this trip range on Good, and he ran third in this precise Class 3 1600m here in July having led at the 400m. Six top-three finishes from ten starts against a field of runners in patchy form.
He maps beautifully to sit second behind the speed, which is exactly the winning profile at Eagle Farm on Good. Against that, he has never won on a Good track in nine attempts, is winless in two at this circuit and shoulders 4.5kg more than last start.
The reason he is not the top pick is structural, not talent: he settles near last from gate 11 into a moderate tempo at a track where backmarkers win roughly one race in twenty on Good. Respected, but at a distinct positional disadvantage.
She carries just 55kg, draws barrier 5 and maps to settle fourth — the precise profile Eagle Farm rewards on Good. The bare last-start seventh at Ipswich reads badly but she began awkwardly over an unsuitable 1350m.

The most credible form line in the race. Her Doomben Open win a fortnight ago was against a similar field and she recorded the quickest estimated time of the horses returning from that race, beating High Authority and Courthezon home. She wins with a finishing burst rather than early speed, and although a slow tempo and a back-half map are genuine concerns, Eagle Farm's wide galloping circuit allows a well-placed midfield run. Gollan/Baker are a proven 19% combination and the filly is unbeaten under this rider.
The race shape is the argument. He is the only genuine leader in a field otherwise full of midfield and backmarker types, drawn barrier 2, at a track where being top three at the 400m roughly triples your strike rate. His Doomben third was better than the bare margin having been held up, and his Scone win showed he can dictate and hold on.
The reservations are real, though: he finished behind both Exceed The Sale and Courthezon last start, his record on Good is 4 starts without a win, and the jockey booking is weak by comparison. Solid place claims.
The improving trajectory is the strongest in the field — placed or better in six of her last nine — and she is stepping up to 1400m, a trip her recent 1350m form says she wants. The 54.5kg is a substantial concession against horses humping 58.5kg and 59.5kg.

He beat Enforceable at level weights over this course and distance on the same Good 4 surface a fortnight ago and now receives 3.5kg from that rival. The second-up statistic is the only genuine query, offset by a rising trend and a local stable operating at full noise.
He was beaten a length-and-a-bit under half over this course and distance last time and has been in the first three at nine of 13 outings. The negatives are real, however: 61kg on his back, a 3.5kg weight swing against the horse that beat him, and a likely early scrap with Nepravda for the front. That combination makes him a safer investment for a placing than an outright winner.
The most reliable placegetter in the race but a poor win proposition. Her Eagle Farm 1200m record of six starts for four seconds and a third tells the story precisely: she is always in the finish and rarely in front of it.
The overlay of the race on distance form and class relief. From barrier 5 she maps to sit in the first two, the pattern Eagle Farm on Good consistently rewards.

Sky Racing (Bm78)
The most progressive horse in the race and the one with the strongest recent Eagle Farm evidence. The class rise and gate 11 are the risks, but he maps to be handy at the 400m, which is the key Eagle Farm Good-track signal.
Barrier 1 and the best early speed give him the map advantage that matters most at Eagle Farm on Good, where being top three at the 400m roughly triples the strike rate. The 5kg weight rise and a genuine class lift are real, and with Biancelli also wanting to roll forward he may have to earn the lead.
The best-value runner of the top three on a weights-relative reading. He was collared late by Everybody Rise over this trip a fortnight ago while conceding weight and getting crowded near the 300m, and today the weight terms swing 2.5kg his way. He needs to be closer than the map suggests to beat the on-pace bias.
The overlay of the race. Second up he is proven, and the map concern is overstated given how handy he settled last time.

XXXX (Bm78)
Good-track form of 6 starts for 4 wins and 2 thirds fits today's surface. The 1400m is new and she settles further back than the Eagle Farm Good bias prefers, but her closing efforts over 1200m have been strong enough that the extra ground should suit rather than find her out.
The most reliable form line in the race at today's course and distance. His track-and-distance record of 4 starts for a win and two seconds is the best exposed profile engaged. The class rise and 58.5kg are genuine questions and barrier 9 asks for a smooth run, but he is fit, consistent and proven at the trip on this surface.
He is the right age and profile for a race like this. The negatives are all about the map: barrier 12 with a backmarker pattern into a moderate tempo at a track where runners back in the field win only about 5% on Good. Class and finishing ability say he is a serious player if Lang can find cover.
The one runner who can dictate. She is the only genuine leader mapped, drawn in barrier 3, and gets in on the minimum 51kg after Chelsea Baker's claim. Eagle Farm on Good rewards runners prominent at the 400m at roughly triple the rate of those back in the field, and this field is full of midfielders and backmarkers. She has already won over the course and distance.

The most complete profile in the race. His 36% career win rate is the best in the field and the barrier 2 draw with an on-pace settling pattern maps him perfectly into the top three at the 400m, which is the single strongest positional prior at Eagle Farm on Good.
The best distance credential in the field. He drops 5kg today, keeps the winning rider, and maps to be handy at the 400m from barrier seven.
Polyglot's last-start Rosehill win under 60kg was strong and the drop to 53kg from barrier 1 is a genuine advantage, which is why he is short. Mapping back around eighth in a fast sprint at a track where backmarkers win only 5-6% on Good is the concern.
Hurts So Good has four wins from seven starts at this track and three wins from five at track and distance, including a 1000m Open win from tenth on settling.

He is not the top pick because his running style fights the track: he consistently settles at or near the tail and Eagle Farm on Good rewards runners top-three at the 400m. Strong for the placings.
A course-and-distance winner drawn to get the run of the race in barrier three, and the Eagle Farm Good pattern is emphatic that being handy at the 400m matters most. Solid each-way claims rather than a win play.
The first-up fourth over a short 1400m under 60.5kg was a solid trial, and he now gets 3.5kg of relief with an in-form rider aboard.

Ladbrokes Popular SRM (Bm85)
The most reliable form line in the race. Braveheart has finished top three in nine of his last ten and has won his past two, both at 1200m on Good ground, the second in the manner of a horse well above BM78 grade. Distance record of 4:3-1-0 and Good record of 7:3-1-0 are the strongest suitability numbers here.
Won at this exact course and distance three weeks ago and is the best-mapped runner in the race from barrier 4 with genuine on-pace speed. The class rise is real, and she was found wanting in a BM85 here in June on a Soft 5, but that run reads far better given her surface preference.
The most progressive runner in the field on raw numbers, with six wins from fifteen and a Good record of 10:4-0-2. His last-start third at Eagle Farm over this trip came after he began awkwardly and lost ground, so the form is better than the bare result.
His first-up seventh reads far worse than it was: taken back from a wide gate, settled tenth, stewards recorded a poor recovery. Second up he steps into barrier 6 with a far better map and his second-up record is 3:1-0-1. Clear overlay.
