Standout on form. Has done nothing wrong in three soft-track runs, winning his maiden then finishing second twice in Class 1 over this trip, including a nose defeat. Maps on-pace and has the gate speed to cross from 15.

Barrier 4 and a midfield-to-handy settle are perfect for Launceston, and the Newitt-Campbell pairing is a major plus. However he is a one-win horse who places more than he wins, is yet to salute on soft, and recent synthetic efforts do not match Fuel On The Fire’s soft-track standard.
The map horse. Already a winner at this track and trip, saluted on soft, and led throughout for a game second last start. Gate 13 is the query, but if he finds the rail in front he will take beating.
Value angle. Won her maiden in good style two back then ran an even fifth first-up in Class 1 from near last. Has enough toe to settle midfield and the recent pattern suggests she is still on the improve.

Ladbrokes Place Extra Mdn Plate
Produced the standout run of this field when second at Devonport after copping interference, finishing hard from midfield. Drawn to settle handy on a Friday Launceston sprint that heavily rewards on-pace runners, and the 54kg is a real edge against the older males. Soft ground is the query, but the map, weight and upside make her the horse to beat.
He maps to lead again and Launceston maidens on Fridays are built for that pattern.
The form horse for wet ground after his Soft Hobart second and a solid return fifth here last week when charging home from last. Second-up and well ridden from barrier 3, he has the engine to win if the race develops for a closer. The Launceston on-pace bias is the main knock and keeps him just behind the two map horses.
In a maiden where map often beats raw form, she is the clear overlay for exotics and a saver each-way.

Owners Race Night 2nd October Mdn Plate
On-pace runners dominate this circuit and he gets the right run again with a capable track jockey. In a volatile maiden his combination of recent form, gate and pattern makes him the most likely winner on pure racing merit.
Symphony Queen produced the best recent result when second here last week and has stacked placings at the track.
Jock Rock has the speed to lead from the inside and carries just 54kg, a classic maiden setup at Launceston. His debut second was a strong effort and the map gives him every chance to dictate. The entire form is synthetic so Soft turf is an unknown, yet the pattern and weight make him a genuine winning threat if he handles the surface.
Sorell Eagles showed he can mix it on Soft when second at Hobart beaten a neck and draws nicely to settle midfield. Last start was plain on Good ground but the return to Soft and an inside gate give him a race.

Ladbrokes Hosted Pots (Bm60)
Kakia brings the strongest recent form and a clear class edge into this Bench 60. His Soft and Launceston 1400m credentials are excellent, and barrier 2 lets him race on-pace where this track wants them.
Kireina Marubrah looks the leader and Friday Launceston often plays to on-pace runners. She has been placing honestly in the grade, the jockey-trainer pairing is reliable here, and a moderate tempo gives her every chance to dictate. Soft evidence is thinner than some rivals, so she is a win chance more than a confidence staple, but the map keeps her firmly in the first three.
Geegee Strawberry is the value runner. Her Bm68 Soft win and honest higher-grade form tower over several of these, and the wet record is proven.

Ladbrokes Mega Multi Plate (C3)
Best-balanced chance on form. Settles handy from gate two in a race that should not be genuinely fast, has already run well in stronger company, and handles rain-affected ground. Progressive enough without needing a perfect scenario, and the local pattern rewards exactly her run style. Clear top pick for the win.
She can lead or sit handy and the tempo looks manageable. Not the top selection because Soft form is unproven, the class jump is real, and the wider gate costs her the perfect map that Henley Extreme holds. Still the clear second chance.
The form horse many will overlook. His recent third in Bm68 company on Soft here was one of the better runs in the field, and he keeps finding the frame. Win strike is modest and connections are quiet, so he is more place-leaning than a confident winner, but he fully belongs in the first three on pure recent form and wet-track reliability.
Gate one and an on-pace pattern are gold at Launceston on Soft, especially Friday. Soft form is adequate and she has won on rain-affected ground over further.

Miss Lyra is the form horse after a clear second at this track and trip band last Wednesday, defeating several of today's rivals. Soft ground is no issue and the inside-mid draw lets her improve on that run. Friday sprint racing here leans on-pace and she can take a sit just off the speed.
Just Plain Nuts maps perfectly from barrier two and was only a length or so off Miss Lyra when they clashed here last start. He finds the front or the one-one with little effort, which is the right pattern for Launceston sprints.
Dissalto ran fourth in the same Launceston sprint that sets the form standard, only a couple of lengths off the winner and right behind today's main chances. Barrier five and an on-pace style fit this track, and he carries the minimum.
Out Of The Sphere is the clean leader and can make this a genuine speed test from barrier seven. The Trinder yard and Byrne Burke are flying locally, and his latest maiden win was authoritative.

Kevin Sharkie (Bm76)
Hartman is the clearest form horse. He drops from Open grade after a strong second and a prior BM76 win, maps to sit handy from barrier 5, and has genuine Soft credentials.
Alpine Thunder is flying and the map is made for him. He led all the way to win his last two, including on Soft 5, and leaders dominate this circuit at sprint trips. Barrier 8 is imperfect but his early pace should secure the front or the one-out trail.
Prince Of Khatun brings the highest upside profile: young, progressive, already placed in a 3yo Classic and a Soft winner. Two recent trials suggest he is wound up. The query is the wide gate on a short-course sprint where inside on-pace runners are favoured.
Bold Instinct is the standout overlay. He drops to 53.5kg and draws barrier 4.

Best form case in the race. Soft-track record is outstanding and her recent Hobart runs, including a solid fifth in better grade, stack up strongly. Maps to settle midfield-handy in a moderate tempo, which is the right pattern here. Freshened 37 days but not coming off a spell.
In-form last-start winner at this course and distance with genuine soft-track credentials. Connections are positive and he is fit. Main query is the map — he can get back, and Launceston sprints reward those handy. Still the clearest recent turf form in the field and must be respected.
Map horse of the race. Leader from gate 3 at Launceston on soft ground is a powerful angle, and her prior course form is excellent including a Soft 5 win at this trip. Long spell without a trial and a quiet stable are real concerns, so she is treated as a place-focused selection rather than the win stab. If ready she is right in the finish.
Value angle. Proven at Launceston and on soft, and she maps on-pace rather than buried away. Each-way play for the overlay.

He beat this grade comfortably last preparation, won the Soft 2400m at Hobart and only just missed at 2100m, then was far from disgraced in Open company. The drop back to Bench 68, soft-track record and likely sit-off-the-leader role in a slowly run race make him the horse to beat.
Native Clan has effectively matched Merlin Beach in the two most relevant Soft staying races, winning one and finishing a close second in the other. She maps perfectly to stalk the leader and is well treated at the weights. The freshen since mid-August is the main query, but her pattern and ground form keep her right in the finish and a clear second chance.
As the clear leader on a Soft Launceston staying track with little pressure, he can pinch a break and make the others chase.
Alpine Trout was not far away when the key Soft staying form was set at Hobart, finishing fifth after being held up, and he owns a genuine record at staying trips. Launceston has not been kind and latest form is plain, but at seventeen dollars he is overs relative to horses he has already measured against. Happy to take him on-side for the exotics and a saver each-way.
