His Caulfield second in open 2yo company was a winning-standard effort and nothing else here has run to that level. The class drop is significant and the stable has him fit after two jump-outs. Barrier 18 is the real risk, but the 440m straight and hot early speed give him room to settle handy and finish over the top. He is the most likely winner but offers little value, so keep the stake modest.

The obvious danger. He drops to a maiden against mostly unraced or lightly raced rivals, and the three genuine leaders should ensure a hot pace that brings his finish into play. The concern is that he relies on a fast tempo and clear running on a track where backmarkers struggle. Solid place chance.
A consistent filly whose best form stacks up well in this grade. She drops five kilos on the top weights and is racing in her sixth start, so fitness is not in question.
The best-drawn of the debutants and prepared by a stable that wins first-up races at this track. His nose defeat in the Halidon trial and subsequent jump-out win over 950m here point to a horse ready to run a competitive race first time out. Pannell taking the ride is a signal of intent, and barrier 5 lets him hold a handy spot without expending energy.

Duttons Easy To Do Business With! Hcp (C2)
Her maiden win was the strongest performance in this field and she was already running to a high standard when placed beforehand. She has the early speed to settle in the first half from barrier 5, which is exactly what wins at Murray Bridge, and the lone leader ensures an even tempo.
Purfect Line is the most reliable form horse in the race, having run to a winning standard at Morphettville last start and at 1200m on good ground earlier this year. He has placed at this track and distance and sits close enough to be a factor from barrier 8. The knock is that he rarely wins, with eight seconds from 22 starts, and his rider is out of form.
However he maps to settle last from barrier 9 on a track where on-pace runners dominate and backmarkers win rarely, and the lone-leader tempo will not help him.
Ramasis is the class runner and the most likely winner on form. The step up to 1200m second up is ideal. Barrier 16 and a likely hot tempo are real concerns, but a horse of his quality dropping in class should be able to find a position and outclass these.
Rocktagon is the value play purely on the map. He is the lone leader in a race with a strong on-pace bias, and he drops eight kilograms on last start to a featherweight. His win at Morphettville came from the front and he has plenty of experience here.

Sportsbet Fast Form (Bm68)
Riche D'amour is the most likely winner on form. The wide draw and backmarker style are real negatives at Murray Bridge, but he has already won here from the tail twice.
His strengths are speed, a good draw and a recent all-the-way win at this level, all suited to Murray Bridge's on-pace bias. The problem is that every one of his wins has come on rain-affected ground, and today he carries top weight on a drying track with a second leader to contend with. Selected on form but at a place stake rather than to win.
Tiptop Tori brings the best class in the race, having won the Adelaide Guineas in May, and she has already won over 1200m on a Good track. The concerns are all about today's set-up: she resumes after four months, will be ridden back from the inside gate, and this track is unkind to swoopers. The fast tempo helps and the stable is in form. She is more a place proposition than a confident winner at this trip fresh.
He is dropping from BM72 back to the grade he won at over 1200m in June, has an excellent distance record including a win here, and comes from a stable that is winning at a high rate.

Kookaburra Homes Hcp (64)
Drops slightly in grade after a strong third at Morphettville over 1800m, charging home from last to be beaten a nose under 60kg. A very fast tempo from three leaders suits a horse who settles off them, and the mile here is fair for wide gates.
The fast tempo helps him.
She draws barrier 3 with 56kg, gets a mile she should relish under a fast tempo, and her stable has an excellent strike rate at Murray Bridge.
Beaten a length for fourth in the same Morphettville race that produced Blackjack, Hysterical Lady and Loca Bella, and that run was to a winning standard for this grade. She gets 56kg, a fast tempo to close into and has a good record on top of the ground with a placing at the mile. Each-way.

Prestige Equine Veterinary (Bm74)
Retourne is the only runner in the race with proven winning form at this distance in stronger company, having taken out consecutive BM78 stayers at Morphettville, the latest in the best performance any of these has produced recently. He beat Haaland and High Society Girl on merit and meets them again with only small weight swings.
Place saver only.
Haaland is the most reliable form horse in the race short of the top two. His on-pace style from barrier 7 is the right way to race at this track, and he keeps running placings at the distance.
Princess Painton is the emerging horse in the race. Her win at Morphettville Parks three weeks ago was a genuine standout, and she had earlier won a maiden on good ground in similar style. She meets a big class rise and an untried trip from a wide gate, and she will be coming from behind at a leaders' track, but the light weight and rapid improvement give her a real chance of running past tired horses late.

Murray Bridge Gold Cup Book Now! Hcp (68)
He won his maiden at this track and distance from well back, so a fast tempo with three leaders is ideal.
Her third in Bm82 company at this track and distance last autumn and her Morphettville mile second would win this race comfortably if repeated on a good surface. The first-up failure came on soft ground she does not handle, and the track is drying to Good 4.
Common Interest is the other lightly raced improver and won at this track and distance in April when he finished strongly from midfield. His first-up second at Morphettville Parks was a fair return on soft ground, and a firmer surface suits. He will drop out from barrier 2 and rely on the expected hot speed, which is a genuine risk at a track that favours horses in the first six.
Chipson is the overlay. He has won twice at this track and distance and was closing hard when a close fourth in a stronger Morphettville race last start. He is a pure backmarker, which normally counts against a horse here, but with Brave Apache, Nasho and Fiora Blue all wanting to lead the tempo should be genuinely fast and set up his late run.

Thomas Farms Hcp (64)
Heart Of The Med has been dominant in two starts at Murray Bridge and her last-start Class 1 win here was the strongest recent run of the on-pace horses in this field. She drops to 54.5kg and gets a hot claiming rider. The draw is awkward and she will need to cross or sit outside Simply Mac, but she has already proven she can go hard early and hold on at this track.
Meg's Magic has quietly been racing as well as anything in this field, winning at Murray Bridge and then just missing in a Hcp 62 on a heavy track. She draws to settle in the first six from barrier 5 and the expected fast speed from Simply Mac and Heart Of The Med sets the race up for a horse who can build through the middle stages.
Simply Mac won this exact race distance at Murray Bridge on Good ground last start and gets the ideal barrier to lead again on a track where front-runners hold a real edge. The class rise and 58kg are legitimate concerns and Heart Of The Med may make him work, but he has shown he can go hard and keep going.

Kingofwallstreet @ Springfield Farm (Bm74)
Omaha Dawn's two 1000m wins in June were the best runs in this field at or above today's class, and her Listed-race failure last start came at a level she was never going to win. With Gold Spirit, Up The Den and Boyd all wanting to lead, the race should be run hard early, giving Holder the chance to settle her midfield from barrier 8 and unleash her strong finish.
On raw ability Never Ordinary is arguably the best horse in the race. The first-up flop was on a bog track at stakes level and she has since won second up in her only attempt.
Boyd is the progressive type in the race. From barrier 2 he can sit third behind Gold Spirit and Up The Den, which fits the track's pronounced on-pace lean, and Harry Grace knows him well.
Grand Host is the forgotten horse. His recent form is remarkably consistent with a win, two seconds and a fifth in his last four, and none of those runs were far off a winning standard. He races well at Murray Bridge and gets the ideal setup with three leaders guaranteeing a strong pace for a closer to run over.

Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Gold Cup Prelude (Bm74)
Mellifluent has been racing better than his results and his last two starts, a mile third at Morphettville and a Bm70 win on good ground, are the strongest recent form in this field. The wide gate is the risk but he has speed to cross from a wide alley as he did last start.
Every win has come on soft ground, he has never won on good, and he draws wide as a backmarker at a track where handy runners hold sway.
Geffina is the honest one in the race and keeps turning up. She won a mares race at Sandown last start and her earlier Mount Gambier win over a similar trip was a top-class effort for this grade. She draws well but gets back and will need the race to unfold with some tempo.
Itsukushima is the map runner in this race. He should lead from barrier four with 54kg on a track where leaders win far more often than any other position. His last two runs were poor but both were on rain-affected ground, and he is a good-track horse who placed seven times in a row before that.
