Hawkesbury sprints are won on-pace and Spice Trail draws barrier 4 with the pace map placing her second on speed. The 53.5kg after claim is a significant advantage over the topweights, and both recent trials were forward, beaten under a length. Her debut 6th came on Soft 5 over a sharp 900m when she over-raced in front; the tongue tie and second preparation address that. Well drawn, well weighted, well trained.

Second up suits, and blinkers plus a first-time tongue tie should sharpen him. The 59kg and a tendency to fade under pressure are the checks.
The safest place proposition in a volatile maiden. Ready Made Heir has been placed on four of her last five outings and three of her four Good track starts have produced placings.
The value runner. With two genuine leaders plus other speed types generating a fast tempo, that negative is at least partly offset, and Van Overmeire's current strike rate is a further tick. Overlay each-way.

BRH Steel Constructions Golden Jubilee Super Mdn Hcp
Flight Of Power maps as the controlling runner from barrier 1 at a track where leaders win 33% of races and backmarkers are winless in the recent sample. He has trialled strongly, winning at both Randwick and Hawkesbury, and drops sharply from Open grade at Muswellbrook to Maiden company. The 1000m first-up trip matches his only race start.
But the trial was on synthetic against unmeasurable opposition, and barrier 11 over 1000m at a tight right-handed track with a 380m straight is a genuine handicap when leaders are winning a third of races here. Top weight of 59kg adds to the task.
A fast tempo up front suits her closing pattern. The reservations are real: she maps midfield at a track where the recent bias has been savagely against anything off the speed, and the latest trial was flat.
Monte Shell is the sharpest beginner in this field and maps to lead at a track where the recent data has leaders winning 33% of races and everything off the speed winless. She was beaten just half a length at Newcastle last start on Good 4 after being interfered with at the jump, and steps up with winkers on, tongue tie applied and the minimum 56kg.

Essential Asset & Fire Hcp (C1)
The most complete profile in the race. Her four-start record of a win, two seconds and a third shows genuine consistency, and barrier 4 puts her in the box seat behind the leaders. The Good track is unproven and 59kg is the concern, but the class rise from Maiden is standard progression and the form warrants favouritism.
The most proven horse at the grade with three straight Class 1 placings, and she maps better than anyone from barrier 2 with only one other genuine leader in the race. Hawkesbury rewards on-pace runners heavily, so control of a moderate tempo is a real asset. Ideal each-way proposition rather than a confident win play.
The class dropper of the race, with two placings in Open company on her 2025 record that read a full grade above this. The return of the bubble cheeker matches her best form. Against her, the current preparation has produced three plain finishes, she failed here in July, and 1300m is new territory. Place value at best.
The value angle. Second-up runs often bring improvement, and barrier 3 lets her settle closer than usual rather than needing a miracle.

The Real McGreal Is 60 Hcp (C1)
Schumacher is the best combination of raw ability and race shape. Only two genuine leaders means a moderate tempo he can control, and Bell is 18% at the track.
He will be finishing hard but may need Schumacher to over-race in front. Solid, but overbet.
He then won at Goulburn under 60.5kg, and today's 58.5kg with blinkers and barrier one is a favourable package.
The overlay in the race. He is first up but trialled twice at Warwick Farm, and Van Overmeire is in career-best touch.

The clear class runner. That is a level or two above a provincial Class 1. Fresh is the only query; the class edge overrides it.
She stays, she places relentlessly and Waller has her at the right point of the campaign. The barrier and her get-back pattern on an on-pace track are the reasons she is second rather than first, and why each-way is the sensible structure.
He is two runs into his career with obvious scope, drops two kilos, draws barrier 3 and steps to a distance his Wootton Bassett breeding wants.
The overlay of the race. Payne stepping him to 1800m and booking Clipperton reads as intent, and a 3yo with only seven starts has the most improvement to come.

Good Az Gold Mdn Plate
Second up over 1400m, a distance she has already tackled at black-type level, and carrying only 55.5kg, she is the clear danger. The barrier 8 draw and a closing pattern against Hawkesbury's on-pace lean are the obstacles, along with a winless six-start record that keeps confidence moderate.
Barrier 9 and a closing pattern into an on-pace track are the reservations that keep her third rather than higher.
The safest runner in the race and the obvious anchor for place-based staking. Seven starts have produced three seconds and four thirds, including a second over this exact trip at Kembla from a wide gate and a closing third at Canterbury last start after interference. The knock is obvious: she has never won and the wide draw forces her either to work or to give ground.
Satin Serenade is the clear form horse. She trialled a winner at Randwick on Good 4 on 14 August, has the best early speed in the field from barrier 6, and drops to 55.5kg.
She gets first-time blinkers, has the best barrier in the field on a track that rewards inside draws, and both her race starts carry legitimate excuses — crowded and held up at Warwick Farm, struck interference at the start at Wyong.

Australian Horse Arenas Midway (Bm68)
Van Overmeire is riding at 40% strike over his last 20 and knows the horse.
The reservations are the 59.5kg impost, a jockey with a poor Hawkesbury record, and a stretch back to 1400m after three straight 1200m runs. In a slow-tempo race his closing speed may be blunted, so he rates as a solid each-way proposition rather than the win pick.
Satness is the most reliable form line in the race. Today he gets 3.5kg off in the same grade, draws barrier 4 and maps to lead a moderate tempo at a track that rewards on-pace runners. The jockey booking is the query, but the map, weight swing and Good-track record (43:6-8-7) make him the most likely winner.

Bundaberg Rum Mdn Plate
The strongest form line in the race. That was first up; second up for Waller he should be sharper. Barrier 4 is the key improver, letting Bullock ride him closer than the settle-8 map suggests and avoiding the Hawkesbury backmarker trap. Class and closing speed both check out at maiden level.
He was slowly away and held up near the 400m at Hawkesbury last start yet still closed off well. Second up he should be fitter, but two clear questions remain: barrier 12 at a track where width hurts, and a step from 1100m to 1400m without ever racing past a sprint trip. Class says he wins; map and trip stop him going top.
First-time blinkers and a tongue tie for Widdup read as a genuine attempt to convert consistency into a win, and Reith is a strong local booking at 19% here. Barrier 13 is the flaw — Hawkesbury punishes wide draws — but he has enough early speed to cross and take a forward position at a moderate tempo.
The classiest runner in the race on paper — a Listed runner at Randwick and second in Open grade at Wyong now dropping to a provincial maiden. He won a Hawkesbury barrier trial on Good 4 in July, so both track and surface are ticked, and the on-pace map at settle four suits a track that rewards forward runners.
