The clear class runner of a modest field. Runner-up in Listed grade at Flemington last start and earlier produced the best Good-track run in the race when fifth in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude. Trainer and jockey are in strong form. He can race handy or settle back, and while a wide draw and a get-back style are a knock at a track that suits leaders, his class should be enough.

Sportsbet Classic
Maps perfectly for Caulfield - a natural on-pacer who should take up a forward position from an inside draw, and this track rewards those tactics over 2000m. He was beaten under a length in Listed grade on Good ground at Flemington and was far from disgraced at Group level as a two-year-old. Slightly one-paced, but hard to beat on his best.
The low draw helps and he won first-up this campaign. The query is his get-back style at a track where leaders dominate, but his turn of foot and the drop in class make him a genuine place chance.
Likely to lead from the inside gate, which is the ideal profile for a Caulfield 2000m race.

Sharp Eit Solutions Ethereal Stakes
She lands in the ideal spot from gate three, right where you need to be at Caulfield over 2000m. The leap from maiden grade into a Group 3 is the query, but her speed and turn of foot give her a strong winning chance.
The class runner and last-start winner of a Listed race at Flemington, where she came from back in the field and won with something in hand. The concern is her get-back style at a track that rewards on-pace runners, and all her best form is on rain-affected ground, so a good surface is a slight unknown.
A lightly-raced filly who led throughout to win over 1800m here on a good track last start and is unbeaten in two. She has the gate speed to lead again from gate six, and Caulfield's bias strongly favours horses on the pace.
Mark Zahra takes over and she drops sharply out of Group 2 company, having run fourth at Flemington last time in a race that was run on a bottomless track. Two starts back on a good surface at Ballarat she ran better than the bare result.

Manhari Alinghi Stakes
Signature Scent is the one best suited to how this race will shape. She lands in a stalking position, has twice saluted over this Caulfield 1100m course, and was only a whisker away in a Listed sprint last time. The Maher yard is firing and she drops in class. With the track profile pointing to handy runners, she gets the run of the race and rates the one to beat.
But she gets back, has never won at Caulfield in eight starts, and gives weight away to everything.
Stardom looks the pick of the on-pace brigade and a solid each-way play. She can lead and control a moderate tempo, was a close second in a Group 3 sprint over this trip two runs back, and drops in class off a jump-out win.
Thanks Gorgeous is a roughie worth a small each-way play. She won a Listed 1100m sprint last preparation, has a solid record at the distance, and maps to settle just off the speed in a race that should suit handy runners.

Quayclean Gothic Stakes
She maps to sit on the speed from barrier five carrying only 54kg and drops back from Group 3 level. The only knock is a modest winning strike rate, but she is the one to beat in an even race.
He brings the strongest big-race form into this line-up, having finished a close fourth in a Group 1 before dropping back to this Listed grade. His Flemington run two starts back was full of merit and Damian Lane is a notable booking. The query is a moderate winning record and several Good-track placings without a win, but he is a serious threat.
The emerging type. He has never missed a place, comes off an impressive win over 1400m on a Good track where he led and cleared out, and lands the perfect Caulfield profile — barrier one and likely to lead. The obvious query is the jump from maiden company to a Listed race.
A progressive colt with the ideal map for this track — barrier three and natural pace to be right on the speed, exactly where Caulfield 1400m races are won. He dominated a 1500m maiden two starts back and wasn't disgraced in Group 2 company last time.

Sportsbet Harry White Stakes
Maps perfectly for this Caulfield 1400m: inside draw, settles handy, and has two wins plus a second from three starts at the course and trip. Drops from Group 2 company and his gallant lead-and-chase second here two starts back is the ideal prep. Reliable veteran, though the stable and rider are both quiet of late.
The most natural 1400m horse in the race with four wins from six at the trip, and he drops sharply out of Group 1 company. The worry is his get-back style at a track that rewards on-pace runners, plus a keen-going tendency that undid him last start.
He closed strongly for fourth in Listed company over this trip at Caulfield last start, was a fighting Group 3 second at 1400m earlier, and his overall record here is excellent. Tactical early speed puts him in the right spot.
A 1400m specialist who thrives on good ground.

Henley Homes Sprint
The clear class runner of the field. She was narrowly beaten in a Group 1 Moir Stakes last start after leading, and before that won the Group 3 Carlyon and bolted in at BM100 level at Caulfield. A 1000m specialist with seven wins at the trip, she lands in a perfect on-pace spot for Caulfield's short-course bias and drops sharply in grade. Craig Williams, who has three wins on her, rides. The one to beat.
Returns second up with an excellent record at Caulfield, two wins from three starts including an eye-catching first-up success over 1100m here. The likely fast tempo plays to his closing strength and he is suited by the step to 1000m. Jordan Childs has a win from his only ride. The jump into Group 2 company is the query, but his track form and finishing style give him a big say.
A high-percentage winner who was a close third in a competitive BM100 at Caulfield last start behind several of these. Second up, and he has won both previous second-up runs, so fitness is not an issue. He maps to settle handy, which is exactly what this course demands over 1000m.
A lightly raced mare who has won four of five starts, is unbeaten over 1000m and saluted at Caulfield two runs back.

Stow Storage Thousand Guineas
The one to beat. A Group 2 winner over the mile last start and a close second in the Guineas Prelude at Caulfield before that, she is still improving and will be in the leading division from a good draw. The only query is that her best win came on heavy ground, but she handled Good in the Prelude and the on-pace pattern here plays to her strengths.
The mile is an unknown and she will have to earn the front from a wide gate, but she is consistent, lightly raced and the stable is a master at preparing one for this race.
Finished a close second in the Group 1 Flight Stakes over the mile, which is the best proven distance form in this race, and she is third-up for a top stable and jockey.

Catanach's Jewellers Blue Sapphire Stakes
The class runner of the field. Her Flemington Group 3 second, charging home from off the pace, was the best run in this race, and her last-start flop came on heavy ground when nothing went right. She drops out of Group 2 company, gets 2kg off the colts and has Damian Lane up. The one query is her get-back style at a track that favours forward runners, but a genuine tempo should help.
Progressive Maher colt who has won his last two, including a tough on-pace victory at this track, then showed a big turn of foot to score at Kensington. He steps sharply into Group 3 company but is improving at the right time, draws well and gets a top rider. The stable is going strongly, and he shapes as the main danger if he handles the class rise.
Second-up Maher runner who led throughout to win well at Rosehill last start and has black-type form from a sound Listed effort up north. Craig Williams takes the ride and the stable's runners are going strongly. He maps to settle in the first handful from a good draw, which is precisely where Caulfield winners come from, and should strip fitter second-up.
Consistent Group 3 performer who ran a narrow second in the Vain Stakes at this track before a sound effort at Flemington. He draws well and should land in the first four, which is where Caulfield winners come from, and Ethan Brown is a strong local rider.

Sportsbet Caulfield Cup
The clear form pick: a last-start Group 1 winner who beat several of today's rivals and was beaten under two lengths in a Group 1 at this track. He settles handy and is tactically versatile, which suits a race likely to be run at a slow tempo. The main query is a first try at 2400m from a wide gate, but his class should carry him a long way.
Won the Naturalism over 2000m at Caulfield before a forgivable flop in a strongly-run Group 1 on heavy ground. Back on a Good surface he is much better suited, gets in light at 53kg and stays further than his winning trip. He settles off the pace, so the projected slow tempo is a slight niggle, but his class and turn of foot make him a genuine threat.
Maps as the likely lone leader in a race the speed map suggests will be slowly run, and Caulfield staying races strongly favour horses on the speed. He won leading at this track last start and is proven at 2400m.
A genuine staying type. He won The Metropolitan over this trip at Randwick last start and was a close second in the Kingston Town before that, so he is proven at 2400m and clearly on the up. From a middle gate he settles in the first half and carries only 52kg, which suits.
The likely leader and a natural on-pacer, which is exactly what Caulfield rewards. He won the Kingston Town over 2000m from the front and was only collared late when third over 2400m in The Metropolitan after dictating. Lightly weighted and still improving, he can give a big sight in front.
An on-pace mare with a strong record at Caulfield and a second in a Group 2 this preparation. The query is a plain latest run and a post-race lameness report; she needs to improve on recent efforts.

Nationwide Tristarc Stakes
Consistent on-pace mare who is well suited by Caulfield. She has won twice and placed twice at this course and is unbeaten in the placings over this trip, and she has already won at Listed level. She races handy, which is exactly what the 1400m start here rewards, and she maps to be in the firing line throughout.
However she is a get-back mare stepping sharply in grade into a Group 2 at a track where on-pace runners dominate and backmarkers win rarely. The projected moderate tempo with a lone leader is another knock. She can win if the race is run genuinely, but the map and class rise are real risks.
Consistent mare with genuine Group 2 form - she chased home the winner in the Rose Of Kingston at Flemington last start. She is a 1400m specialist with four wins at the trip and has won and placed at Caulfield. She settles in midfield and will need the race to run to suit, but she is fit, in form and gets in well at the weights. A deserving second pick.
She closed well for third at Group 2 level last start and, crucially, draws barrier 1 at a 1400m start where the inside draw is a real advantage. She maps to settle handy without working, and her good-ground form is sound.
