Moon Dart is the best form runner in a weak maiden. He was a good second here over this trip and has trialled well since. The inside gate and midfield position suit a slow tempo on heavy ground.

Best Defence is a regular placegetter who has found a way to lose often. He has the speed to lead alone in a slow-run race, and his heavy-ground second is a positive. The weight, a history of tiring late and the track's bias against front-runners make him hard to trust for the win. He is a solid place chance.
King Kookabaa is a first-starter with a big weight advantage in a race where the form is weak. Both trials were modest, so he is a risk, but the light weight and the stable's recent strike rate keep him in the picture.
Pala D'oro showed enough on debut to be competitive in this grade, and she drops a huge amount of weight. The blinkers should help her focus.

Tucklan gets the nod on form. It is the most experienced wet-track runner here with seven soft-ground starts, and has a good gate and a strong stable and jockey combination. It has been beaten late when pushed to the front, but it can sit handy and does not need to lead. A slow pace and an open lead should suit this on-pace type.
The concern is that gate-to-wire leaders fade on this track when it is wet, and it has not won in 11 starts, so it is a place chance more than a confident win.
Pathelia drops sharply in class and brings plenty of soft-ground experience, and is fresh after a spell, a pattern that tends to suit wet-track winners here. She has not won in 26 starts and has failed first up, so she is a risk, but the class drop gives a path to a place at least.
Kojak is the pick on form. He has the best wet-track record in the field, with placings on both heavy and soft, and his Wellington second showed he can be genuinely competitive in this grade. He should be handy in a slow race. The risks are his lack of a win in 12 starts, top weight, and a poor last run.

Bill Wilkie Memorial (Bm58)
Best form profile in the race. Consistent, proven on soft and heavy, and now facing easier opposition than his recent Bm66 runs. He should settle just off the speed and have a kick, and his second at Wellington in this grade shows he can handle the class. The main risk is weight and a repeat of the Narromine fade.
Back in a Bm58 on a soft track, with a claiming rider and a decent win and place record on soft, he can bounce back.
Denman Bandit has strong, reliable form at this level and has run to a winning standard repeatedly. A midfield run from barrier 4 suits the likely fast tempo. The big unknowns are the heavy ground and the long layoff, which keep him third.
Broken Wings ran a close second over this course and distance on a Heavy 10 in a BM58, finishing faster than anything else in the field and denied a clear run. She has proven wet-track form, drops slightly in class, and the expected fast tempo should bring her into the race late.
A seasoned wet-tracker, with four of her wins on soft, who has a good map and a handy barrier. She has been poor in recent runs, but those were over longer trips and she ran well at 800m at Gilgandra. A fair each-way chance.

Qube Agri Narromine Dandy Cup (Bm50)
The best form line in the race: she won over 1600m last start and drops in class from Plate company. Her midfield map suits the heavy track more than the front-runners do.
Her fourth at this track over 1600m was the strongest run in the field and came from well back. She now gets the same trip at a lower grade with a light weight. Heavy ground is a risk, as she is yet to place on it. A wide gate on a track where wide runners struggle also counts against her.
He has the only clear lead on the map, and a slow pace should let him control the race. The big drop in class helps. Gate-to-wire leaders tend to fade on heavy ground at Narromine, and he has a modest win record, so he is better as a placegetter than a winner. He is a sound each-way type who should be involved.
Winless but consistently competitive in better grade. She should settle midfield and run on. The class drop at BM50 gives her a solid chance of finally breaking through. Jockey details are missing, which keeps confidence moderate.
A risky chance, but she is one of few runners proven on heavy ground and has already won over this trip at Narromine. She also drops in class.

Chris & Dale Harding Big Christmas Surprise (Bm50)
Loud is the most complete profile for the conditions. She handles heavy ground, has won over this course and distance, carries only 55.5kg and drops in grade. She should be handy rather than burning out in front, which suits the way Narromine heavy races have been won.
A seasoned wet-tracker who ran second over this distance on soft at Mudgee last start and gets a big class drop with a feather weight and a claimer. He should settle midfield and be handy turning in.
The concerns are the 61kg on heavy ground, the long break, and a first-up record that has not produced a win. He should run well but the weight and conditions make him a place-leaning option rather than the top pick.
Adviser is not the most obvious winner but he is a tough, consistent type who has placed on heavy ground and drops in class today. The rider knows him well.

Three Rivers Machinery (Bm50)
The most proven heavy-track performer in a field of limited form. He steps down in class after a near-miss at Bm50 last week and should dominate the speed map. Top weight and the leader's fade at this track temper the confidence, but on form he is the most likely winner.
A seasoned heavy-track performer who nearly won here in the wet and now drops in class. His back-of-field style is a concern on a track that rewards handy runners. A moderate tempo is also against closers.
She will sit just behind the leader, a good spot on a heavy track, and carries a light weight.
She ran an excellent third at Bm50 last Saturday and gets a weight advantage on a heavy track. The unproven wet-track form and a back-field position are risks.
