Stepping to 1200m second-up looks ideal and he maps to race on the speed, which the Gold Coast sprint bias rewards. The wide gate and a stable and jockey both in a lean patch are the risks, but his class edge earns top billing.

Revelstone Stud Mdn Hcp
An untried three-year-old from a strong stable who won his most recent trial on soft ground at this track, beating a rival that lines up in this very race. He draws nicely in barrier five, his trainer and jockey combine at a healthy strike rate, and he is the yard's only runner at the meeting, a clear sign of intent. With no race form to assess it is a leap of faith, but the signals are positive.
A progressive filly who ran on well for fourth at this track a fortnight ago and now gets blinkers plus the inside draw, the ideal starting point for a 1200m sprint here.

Draw Attention comes in with the best recent form and has been getting better. She won well last start and ran on strongly in stronger company before that. The risk is the soft track, as she has never raced on it. Her cruisy midfield spot and light weight should see her in the finish, so she is the top pick on form.
Righteous is a consistent type who handles the soft and should be handy in a race lacking a real leader. He ran well at Grafton over this trip and has been placed regularly since.
Disgruntled bolted in last start over a similar trip and stays well. The concern is the race shape. A slow tempo and a heavy track favour runners closer to the speed, and she may be too far back.
She has the best map in the race. With no other proven leader she can dictate a slow tempo and dig in for the long straight. Her last run at 2000m was a strong second at a comparable grade, and she carries little weight.
He should lead without pressure in a slow-run race that suits front-runners, handles the wet well and gets in off a light weight. He doesn't win often, but a soft lead could see him hold on, or at least run into a place.

Best form in the race. He has won two straight with strong, sustained finishes and his soft-ground record is good. The slow tempo expected means the finish will probably be a sprint from midfield, which suits him. The class rise and the 1800m trip are the main questions, but his recent runs say he can handle them.
She can lead uncontested in a slow-run race, which is the best way to ride this track. The return to winkers should settle her after a flat run last start in blinkers. Weight and a cold jockey are concerns, and the track data suggests leaders are less dominant in Open grade.
His soft-ground record is modest and the 1800m distance is untested.
His soft-ground record is the best in the race and he ran a gutsy third here over 1800m last start, finishing a long way wide. A claim off his back and a drop in class both help.

Argentum Rock gets the nod as the most likely winner on form. He ran well over this exact course and distance on a Soft 7, he is a class drop and he should settle handy from a good gate. In a slowly run race that is the right position at Gold Coast.
The map suits, with a trail just behind the leader, and she has finished second on both soft starts. But her recent runs have been flat, she didn't see out her races when she led last time, and the stable has not won at this track in 17 tries. She is safest for the placings.
Flop Shot is in good form and ran on very well last start, but he looks to be at the back of this field in a race that should be run slowly. Backmarkers rarely win at Gold Coast, so the win looks a stretch.
He ran a good second last start after being held up for a run, and he has shown he can handle soft ground. He should be handy in a race lacking pace and the trainer's team is in good form.
Sea Warning is the value play. He is the only true leader and the pace is expected to be slow, and uncontested leaders are the ones who benefit at Gold Coast. He led and ran third over this trip last week and has a soft win to his name.

Decadad is the pick on form. He is a consistent on-pace type who has run second on heavy and soft ground and should settle in the first handful from a good gate. His last start on synthetic was ruined by a rough beginning and a slipped saddle, so it can be forgiven. He gets the weight advantage over the topweights and has the tactical speed to take advantage of a moderate pace.
Supersonic Man is the horse most likely to lead and he has an excellent second-up record. The negatives are the 59.5kg on a soft track, the wide barrier that could stop him crossing to the front, and his habit of weakening once headed. If he gets the lead cheaply he will be hard to run down.
Dirty Harry won over this course and distance on soft ground and is on the way up. He is a late-finishing type, which counts against him on this map, and the wide gate is not ideal. However, he is lightly raced and appears to be improving. A tempo that quickens would help him.

He has been competing in slightly stronger races, running on well when caught wide, and now drops to a Rest 60 with a claim and barrier two after only eight days off. The risks are real: no soft-track win, a midfield map in a race that should be slowly run, and ordinary recent rider numbers, so the stake stays small.
Archers Reign is the clearest map horse who is also race-fit. From barrier five he should sit just off Canadian Fling in a race with only one leader, which is where Gold Coast miles are usually won, especially when the pace is only slow. He has won this course and distance, likes soft ground better than firm, and carries 55.5kg.
Canadian Fling gets the race run to suit if she is anywhere near ready. She is the only leader in a slowly run Gold Coast 1400m, and horses that settle in the first three win this track far more often than those from the back. Earlier last preparation she led and either won or placed at this level, and the stable is flying. A six-month spell, quiet trials and a prior failure on Soft 7 keep her third.
Barrier one and an on-pace style put him in the right part of a slow Gold Coast mile, the stable is in form, and he has already placed twice on soft and won at this track.

Herman Said is the horse best equipped to control a slowly run 1200m on Soft 7. Three of his five soft starts have been wins, and he has already won twice at the trip. As the only natural leader he should cross from barrier 7 and get the rail, which is the right spot at the Gold Coast. Kris Lees has him fit four runs into the campaign.
Cryptic Beauty is the horse in the best current form, with narrow seconds at the Gold Coast and on soft ground at the Sunshine Coast, both times racing on the speed. She maps to sit just off the leader, which suits a slowly run Gold Coast sprint, and she has already placed three times from seven on soft. The stable is flying. The check is her strike rate: one win from twelve, and barrier 8 means she may spend part of the trip without cover.
Her earlier second on Soft 7 at Doomben is the right reference for today's going, and 56kg is a handy weight.
Warrior Bae has been the strongest wet-track performer in the field over his last two starts, beaten a nose at Lismore and finishing a close third there the run before, both on soft. He places constantly on rain-affected ground and barrier 2 gives him a chance to save ground. He will need to come from well back in a slowly run race, which is the wrong map at the Gold Coast, so he is not a top winning chance.

The Gambling Greek maps to control a moderate 1200m from barrier five, the spot this short chute rewards. He has four wins from eight at the trip and a tidy third here three weeks ago that leaves him fitter second-up, with a win already on soft and a drop out of stronger races. The stable and rider are cold, and he flattens if he cannot lead.
Swifties has the best wet record in the race, with three wins from five on soft, and she fought hardest when scoring at Lismore in similar ground two starts back. She drops out of an open handicap after a wide eighth and Dylan Turner can have her just off the speed from barrier nine. The stable has not won with its last twenty runners, she has never started at the Gold Coast, and a moderate tempo gives a midfield horse less help if the leader is allowed to dictate.
Pareto is the proven deep-ground horse, with one win and four seconds from nine on soft plus two wins from five on heavy, including a Gold Coast second in a stronger race on heavy. The claim brings him down in the weights and barrier six is workable. He is second-up, a stage where he places without winning, and his first run back was a flat tenth after racing four wide.
Jungle Law has won both her starts at the Gold Coast over 1200m and has two wins and four seconds from thirteen at the trip. She is second-up, a stage that has produced two seconds from four, and she can sit just off the leading group from barrier eight. Last start she was only three and a half lengths away in this grade here. The query is a heavy defeat on soft seven at Ipswich when she was quickly beaten, and the stable is quiet.
