Royal Accord has won both trials, beating Macho on a Good track at Rosehill and then recording the quickest time of the Warwick Farm heats this field contested. Barrier 5 fits the strong inside lean at Randwick over 1000m and the Hawkes yard excels with early two-year-olds.

Arrowfield Kirkham Plate
Her follow-up on a Good track at Rosehill was quiet, which could be an easy hit-out or a warning sign.
Macho has the next best trial profile and the better draw of the two main chances. He pushed Royal Accord to under a length on a Good track at Rosehill and should get every chance from barrier 3 with a top jockey aboard. The Freedman and Berry combination is one of the most productive in Sydney.
Tour De Force is the overlay in the race. His only trial was an unremarkable third, but Waller two-year-olds rarely show much in trials and the pedigree screams early speed, being by I Am Invincible out of a Group 1 sprinter. Barrier 1 is a significant edge at Randwick over 1000m and Rawiller is well suited to making use of it.

TAB Highway Hcp (C3)
He won the Class 2 Highway at Rosehill from well back, beat Condone clearly two runs back and Condone then ran second at this level, so the collateral form stacks up. Nash Rawiller from barrier 2 is a big plus. The queries are the first look at a mile and a moderate tempo that may favour those ahead of him.
A consistent mare who was beaten a touch over two lengths first up in the Class 3 Highway with genuine excuses, racing keen and being crowded late. She won her only mile start with blinkers before the break and should settle better second up over more ground. Expect her to be handier than most, which suits in a moderately run race.
The classiest horse in the field, having run fourth close up in a Group 3 over this course and distance earlier in the year. First-up third at Newcastle was sound and he won second up last preparation. The concerns are tactical. The class gives him a strong place chance, but he needs things to fall his way to win.
The overlay in the race. He ran third in the Class 3 Highway last start despite being held up at the 400m, finishing ahead of Ocean Tsunami, and his Wagga second at the mile was a strong run. The map is ideal, he has the best early speed and should settle outside the lone leader in a moderately run race, giving him first crack at them in the straight.

Midway (Bm72)
His last two wins at Illawarra Grange were run to a standard no other runner here has matched this preparation, and he did it carrying big weights while racing on the speed. The very fast tempo expected should see him sit just off the leaders with cover and pounce. Class rise is the only real query, but the clock says he is ready for it.
Peleus has the profile of a horse improving into a stronger grade. His Kembla win was a good one, carrying a big weight and reeling in the leaders, and his last three runs show a horse consistently finishing off hard. With a hot tempo expected and only 56.5kg, he should be charging late down the Randwick straight. The wide draw is less of a concern for a backmarker.
He gets the inside draw, a light weight thanks to the claim, and a race shape with plenty of speed to run at. The stable has shown it can win first-up with him.

Alm On-Premise Brian Crowley Stakes
Crescent King is the form pick despite the class rise. He has the early speed to settle fourth or better behind a likely soft lead, which is exactly where you want to be in a slowly-run six-horse race. Unexposed, improving and drops to 56kg.
She is fit, drops in grade and is in a hot stable. The concern is the map: she settles last and this race looks slowly run with Revolina handed the lead.
Punxsutawney Phil is unbeaten and improving, and the race set-up could hardly be better: he sits second behind a lone leader in what should be a slowly-run affair with Zac Lloyd, who is two from two on him. The query is pure class.
Revolina is the value runner. With just one start she cannot be judged on history, so she is assessed on proxy: a good debut win, a leading jockey retained, and most of all the map. She is the only natural leader in a six-horse field at a track with no bias against on-pacers, and a lone leader in a slowly-run 1200m race is dangerous.

Myplates Callander-Presnell
The distance jump is the real risk, but the breeding gives him every chance at a mile and the field he meets today is far weaker than the one he chased home last start.
The class horse of the race on paper. He is dropping sharply from Group 1 level, where he ran an honest fourth in the Caulfield Guineas, into a Group 3 where most rivals have never run to anything like that standard, and he is the only one proven at the mile. The nagging doubt is that he has not actually won a race yet and tends to collect rather than finish over the top of them.
The concern is the way the race is likely to be run, with no genuine leader and the pace expected to be only moderate, which is awkward for a horse who settles last. He will need luck and a fair tempo, but his finishing burst is real and the field thins out quickly behind the top two.
The value runner in the race.

Asahi Super Dry Craven Plate
Lindermann is the only confirmed front-runner here and the speed map gives him an uncontested lead at Randwick, where he is unbeaten over 1800m. He was beaten a nose in the Hill Stakes after dictating and should again get his own way.
Dropping to Group 2 with a handy draw and an eight-horse field, he should not be far off a slow tempo and has the best finishing burst in the race.
A genuine winner's record and the only runner in the field with a Randwick 1800m win to a winning standard this campaign. He has run consistently to a high level through the spring and will again stalk Lindermann from barrier 4, giving him the first crack at the leader.
A Group 1 winning mare racing at the wrong trips this spring and now stepping up to a distance much closer to her best, with the lightest weight in the field.

Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes
Global Goal is the class horse. The map is her concern: she gets back and the race looks slowly run behind a lone leader. Even so, she showed in the Flight that she can sprint past a pack in a slowly-run race, and she draws well with 54.5kg.
Proxima Dea is unbeaten, bred to stay and already proven over 1800m against these colts. She races on the speed, which is exactly where you want to be if the tempo is as slow as the map suggests, and the fillies' allowance helps. The wide draw at a turning start is the main worry and this is a sharp class rise.
Wonka has done little wrong, winning the Dulcify at Randwick and then going down narrowly in the Gloaming while finishing well.
Cormier has the best Group form among the colts, running second in a Group 1 at two, and he comes from a stable going through a hot streak. He will be handy in a slowly-run race, which is a tactical plus.

The Invitation
She is a Group 1 winner dropping in grade, won the Golden Pendant lead-up over this trip and ran second in the All Aged Stakes over this exact course and distance.
Gerringong was impressive winning the Nivison first up and her second-up record is good. She has Group 1 placed form at 1400m and sits in a forward position that should suit under Nash Rawiller, with the stable flying.
Verona Rose chased home Lazzura last start from the back and was strong late, and she has a Group 2 win over this exact course and distance. She rates a solid place chance rather than a win proposition.
Arabian Rose went down by a nose to Gerringong in the Nivison despite being crowded and laying in, and she meets that mare on better terms today. She is a Listed winner over 1400m, draws the inside and should get a strong tempo to run into.

Five Diamonds Prelude
On form this is the horse to beat. He was gallant in defeat in the Toorak, grabbed late after hitting the front, and had won the Tontonan at Flemington the start before.
The problem is she has yet to beat a stakes-class field, she has only one good-track win, and the predicted moderate tempo may leave her with too much to do from the back.
Evaporate has the right profile for this race if the map plays as expected. He is the quickest early, the lead is open, and his 1500m record is the best in the field. His Toorak run was better than the finishing position suggests and the drop from Group 1 to Open is significant.
He finished fourth in the Testa Rossa running strong time, was unlucky to be back in a hot on-pace race, and then ran on well in the Weekend Hussler last start. He is a consistent good-track galloper with eight career wins and gets in with 56kg. Each-way is the play.

Robrick Lodge Filante Hcp
Anthracite has been racing at a winning standard for an Open mile in each of his last three runs at Rosehill, winning two of them from the front. He is the only genuine leader in the race, the tempo projects moderate, and he gets in with 52kg while the Group-class horses carry 57 to 61kg. His Randwick 1600m third was a strong run after racing wide.
With 61kg, a moderate tempo and a lone leader ahead of him, he is more likely to be filling a placing again than winning.
Osipenko improves second up and has winning form at this course and distance, but his record on good tracks is poor and he will be coming from the back in a race that should not be run at a fast tempo. He drops in class and weight from the Alan Brown Stakes, has a strong stable and jockey, and his best runs last autumn were competitive at this level.
Anythink Goes was beaten a nose in the Listed Wyong Cup two starts back and was solid at Rosehill before that, runs that would make him competitive here. His last-start seventh came after a torrid, keen, three-wide run and can be forgiven. He gets in on the limit with 52kg, is race-fit after a trial win, and his place strike rate is excellent.
