Venus Invicta won her Doomben trial on a Good track, with two of today's opponents finishing behind her, and she gets the same rider from a soft inside draw that suits Eagle Farm sprints. Her Capitalist pedigree screams early speed over 1000m.

The booking of Ben Thompson, who is riding in red-hot form, is a clear positive and the draw is workable. Against that, the stable is out of form and the long gap since her trial plus the shift to a Good track adds uncertainty.
That gives her the most reliable form reference of the outsiders. The draw is the issue, as barrier 9 forces her to either burn fuel to cross or settle back, and backmarkers rarely win Eagle Farm sprints. The connections' record here is also uninspiring. She rates a genuine place chance rather than a winning one.
Miss Kobi is the overpriced runner. She went down by a nose in her Beaudesert trial on a Good track and now draws barrier 1, the gate that most consistently produces winners in Eagle Farm sprints.

The Gibson (Bm78)
His Eagle Farm win three weeks ago was a far better performance than the Bm65 label suggests, he sheds 4kg and gets a soft run from barrier 4. But he goes up two grades, has won only once from 11 attempts at 1400m, and is a 7-year-old with a long record of placings rather than wins. Take him for the place rather than the win.
Kingdom Undersiege is the obvious on-pace danger. He is the quickest beginner in the race, draws barrier 1 and drops in grade off a strong Lismore second with a light weight. The questions are the 1400m trip, which he has never won at, and a plain record at this track.
Metaphorically is the form horse. He maps to lead or sit second in a moderately run race on a track that strongly favours the front, and his jockey is unbeaten on him. The weight rise and the lone poor Eagle Farm run are the only concerns.
Boondocks is the overlay. His August second over this course and distance was a quality effort and his recent runs at longer trips have been better than the placings read. He drops to a light weight, comes back to his best distance and gets the leading Eagle Farm jockey.

Sky Racing Hcp (C3)
Puff 'n' Harry has been racing in considerably stronger company than this and was beaten a length in a Class 5 handicap at this track in August, a run that stacks up as the best in this field. He drops sharply in grade, draws the inside and carries a reasonable weight. The query is whether he is sharp enough fresh over 1200m after a break, but the Lockwood and Vincent stable is in excellent form and he has won first and second up before.
The step up to 1200m with Ben Thompson aboard from a soft draw is a plus. However both of his wins came first up, he rarely places when beaten and he needs the race to unfold in front of him at a track where backmarkers struggle.
Dark Arts produced the best closing burst in the race here last Saturday in stronger company and has a win at this track and distance to his name. The grade drop and quick back-up are positives and he is clearly up to winning a Class 3. The problem is that he races back in the field in a race likely to be run at a moderate tempo at a track that favours on-pace runners, and his win strike rate reflects a horse who often finds one or two too good.
An improving young horse whose form reads well for this grade. He races handy, which suits the way Eagle Farm plays, and drops to 55kg.
Vin Santo is a model of consistency with four straight results of first or second, including a strong Class 3 Plate placing at the Sunshine Coast when bumped out of it late. He settles just behind the speed, which is precisely the pattern that wins sprints at Eagle Farm, and his stable is in red-hot form. Each-way.

He draws barrier 2 with a light weight and a stable that dominates this track, and the moderate tempo suits a horse who can sit third or fourth and sprint.
I'm Not Here fits the Eagle Farm winning profile better than anything else here: inside draw, on-pace pattern and the lightest weight. Her last-start head second in Open 3yo company at the Gold Coast was run to a winning standard, and she has handled Good tracks both times. If she can cross to sit outside the leader she will be very hard to run down over 1300m. Slight tempo contest is the main worry.
He is not top pick because the map is against him. He will settle in the last three from barrier 9 with a moderate tempo at a track that strongly favours horses on the speed, and his regular rider has switched off him.
His Grafton win was a genuine winning-standard effort on Good ground and Harley is a strong track rider.

XXXX (Bm78)
Becamo is the form horse on what he did last start, winning a Bench 78 over this track and distance from a handy spot and running to a winning standard. His Sunshine Coast win before that was also strong.
Barbray has the most consistent body of work in the field, running to a competitive standard at this level or higher at each of his last four starts and winning over this course and distance from behind in August. His problem is the start; he keeps missing the kick and giving them a head start, and on a Saturday at Eagle Farm backmarkers are hard to win with.
Mirra Impact is the one with the best map in the race, drawing inside with enough speed to sit just off the leaders where Eagle Farm winners usually come from. His recent form is honest at a higher grade, including a close third behind Barbray at Toowoomba and a strong effort at Doomben when caught wide.

QA Build Tradies On The Turf (Bm78)
The form horse. Bring Me Kash has won his last two in Open company at 1000m, with the Gold Coast win the best performance by any runner in this field. The extra weight, a cold jockey at this track and a midfield map are real concerns, but a fast tempo should bring him into it.
Shows A Sign is the map horse. From barrier 2 he should find the front or sit outside the leader, which is exactly where winners come from at Eagle Farm over 1000m.
He is a consistent winner elsewhere who is yet to crack 1000m or Eagle Farm, and his get-back style is a handicap here.

Lucky Pat is the only runner here with proven stakes form, and his second in the Dalrello at this track and third in the 2yo Classic were both runs of winning quality for this grade. He drew well in 2, has the gate speed to sit handy while the wide-drawn speed horses work to cross, and he has trialled well twice.
Flaressence has produced the most consistently strong runs in this field by the clock, winning her last start easily and running to winning standard in every start. She is a natural leader with a very light weight on a track that rewards front-runners.
Final Crusade has strong credentials at this track and distance, winning here last start with a performance of real quality and running a top race at Toowoomba earlier. He has gate speed, but barrier 12 is a genuine obstacle at Eagle Farm over 1000m and he will either be caught wide or forced back. The class rise is steep but his best is good enough.
Boomelli is the value in this race. She is a stakes winner at Eagle Farm with Group placings, draws barrier 1 at a track that rewards inside gates and handy runners, and has never been beaten over 1000m. She trialled well at Doomben and the Youngberry claim brings her weight down.

Ladbrokes More On Tote (C6)
Bluepinot has strung together three runs of genuine quality at or near this level, twice beaten a nose at Doomben before a strong win under a big weight at Toowoomba. He races handy, which is exactly where Eagle Farm mile winners come from, and he drops 4kg on last start. The wide gate is the risk, but with two genuine leaders inside him he should slot into a trailing position.
Naval Seal produced the strongest performance of any runner here when he was nosed out of a Gold Coast Class 6 over 1700m last start. He is a seasoned, honest miler who gets a good draw and a sensible map. A legitimate each-way chance rather than a confident winner.
Kairos Louie is drawn wide but is one of the few horses here who will be in the first three on the turn, which is where the Eagle Farm mile is consistently won.

Cricks Highway Queensland Cup
Her nose defeat in the Colin Stephen and third in the Drinkwise Cup were against much deeper fields than she meets here, and she ran to a winning standard at this level in both. The weight rise is the main concern, but she races handy, which is what Eagle Farm rewards, and the expected slow tempo means she will not be exposed early.
Felix The Scat produced his best run in a long time when second in the Toowoomba Cup and gets a race shape that should suit again, with only two genuine leaders and a track that rewards those up front. The Gollan and Thompson partnership is a strong one here. His Eagle Farm record is a real worry, and a soft-ish early track with 58.5kg will test him.
Chillaxing is the proven course and distance horse in the race, with a win and a third over 2400m at Eagle Farm in his last three local starts. He gets a handy weight drop and his regular rider back, and should settle in the first half-dozen where this track rewards runners. The question is whether he is good enough for Listed grade, as nothing he has done recently is up to Amplify.
Artful Girl is overpriced on what she did at Toowoomba, where she settled midfield and ran third beaten two lengths with Felix The Scat and Chillaxing around her. She has already won at this course and distance this campaign and drops to the minimum weight from an ideal draw.

Tattersall's Members Cup
His last three runs are the best in this field by a clear margin, including a Lismore second under 62kg and a Class 6 win over this exact course and distance. The concerns are the class rise, a midfield map on a front-runner's track and a thin record on firm going. The drying surface should still carry some give early.
Hell is the clear speed of the race and should lead on a track that heavily favours front-runners. His last four runs have all been honest and close to a winning level, just lacking a finishing kick when challenged. The step to 1400m against Listed company is a question, but the moderate tempo and light weight give him every chance to control the race from the front.
Esjay has the strongest class profile in the race with a Listed placing and multiple Eagle Farm wins, two of them over this trip. His Weetwood fifth was better than it reads, running home strongly after being held up. The 60kg top weight is the main issue and his record on good going is only moderate. With the track likely retaining some moisture early, he can run a place at least, and a win would not surprise.
Ratenotice is the clear value runner. She has won her last two, both after being caught wide, and her Ipswich win was run at a level that would be competitive here. The map is ideal from gate 2 with only 53kg, and she should sit right behind the leaders on a track that rewards that position.
