His debut third at Eagle Farm on heavy ground was the one genuine race-quality effort in this field, finishing strongly from the back after a tardy start. He is proven in the wet, draws to save ground, and has a Doomben specialist aboard.

The pick of the debutants. With a 2kg claim he gets in light from a handy gate and should be prominent throughout. The stable's recent form is cool and he lacks race experience, which keeps him below Ghost Gum, but he is the obvious danger and a solid place proposition.
La Bella Queen bolted in at a Dalby trial, but country trial form on firm ground is a thin basis for a metropolitan race on a soft surface.
Better Be Done brings real race form into a field of trial horses. She chased hard for second on a soft track at Eagle Farm and is the quickest beginner here, so she should lead and make them chase.

Her all-the-way Doomben win over 1600m on soft ground two weeks ago was the best performance in this field and came against May The Force, who meets her again. The queries are real: a big weight rise, an untested trip, and a tendency to over-race when held up behind a leader.
She was no match for Win Star at Doomben last start but ran to a winning standard in defeat, and now meets her on far better weight terms. She will sit handy from a good draw in a race unlikely to be run at a strong tempo, with a jockey in exceptional form. The distance is a query, but her consistency makes her a solid place play.
The breeding says the trip will suit and the stable has sent him up here for a reason, so he deserves a place in the top three, but a get-back style in a steady race and a quiet jockey at this track keep confidence modest.
The value runner in the race. Her Port Macquarie effort two starts back was of a standard that would make her competitive against anything here, and she followed it with a controlled front-running maiden win over 1700m on a Soft 7. She gets bottom weight, the inside gate, a handy racing style in a race without a strong pace, and is the best bred stayer in the field.

He has won at Doomben, placed at this track and distance, and gets a perfect on-pace trail in a race likely to be run at a steady tempo. Thinkhardandfast is the better-mapped horse but her recent form is plainer.
Everything about today's set-up suits her: inside draw, bottom weight, on-pace style and a tempo that should be steady. Her wet record and prior Doomben 2020m win are real positives. The reservation is form, with three plain runs this preparation and no evidence yet of a run good enough to win at this level.
Becamo brings the best wet-track record in the field and a win at Eagle Farm in September that was good enough to win this. The problem is the shape of the race. He begins slowly, is drawn wide and will get back in a race with little pressure on, which makes the run home difficult over the short Doomben straight. His stable and jockey are both in a cold patch.
Its first-up third over a mile at Eagle Farm was the best recent run in this field and it steps to a trip it has handled before. It should lead and dictate a moderate tempo with a light weight, which is a big edge at Doomben.
Our Anchorage is the value runner. He has been running at 101 to 1 in Sydney, but his last start at Rosehill was the strongest run in this field by any measure and his form has been trending upwards. He now drops to a much weaker grade and is the only genuine leader, so he should control a steady tempo from barrier 3.

Clearly the form horse. She has never missed a place, has won two of her last three and her two recent Doomben runs were the best in this line-up — closing strongly off genuine tempos over the short course. She steps to 1200m for just the second time but the race sets up for her with a fast predicted tempo and no positional bias against backmarkers here. Soft ground is the only query, and she has placed both times she has struck it.
The class runner of the field, dropping out of Group and Listed races into a restricted 65. A genuine, fast tempo up front is exactly what he wants, and his fitness is now at its peak. The wide gate is a negative but he goes back anyway, so it matters less than it would for others.
A progressive four-year-old who produced a genuine winning performance on heavy ground at Grafton last time, settling worse than midfield before letting down hard and racing away. He is lightly raced, still improving, and gets a top rider who is riding at the peak of his form. The concern is the rise out of a Bm58 into a competitive 65 and an awkward gate, but the wet track and fast tempo both play to his strength.
The genuine roughie of the field. She won over this course and distance in August with a sweeping run from last, and she also won a soft-track maiden from a clear last, so neither the trip nor the ground worries her. With a fast tempo predicted and the inside gate, she can settle and save ground before producing her trademark late burst.

Kickup Rocky is the class horse of the race and the clear pick on form. He won on soft ground at Eagle Farm last start, has two wins from four on soft going and is dropping sharply from Group company. Top weight and a possible slow tempo are real risks, but Moor can slot him closer than usual from barrier 8 and he rates the most likely winner.
Groening is in career-best form with two wins in a fortnight, including an impressive soft-track win last start. He is the best-credentialed of the lighter weights and the on-pace style suits a slow race. Ben Thompson is the best-performed jockey at Doomben in the field. The class rise is a worry, but the weight advantage helps and he looks a genuine place chance at the very least.
Ever So Ready is the most likely leader in a field short of early speed and could get an easy time of it in front with a slow tempo expected. He has been consistent, with a place in most starts, and he gets a good draw.
Duke Of Albemarle is a consistent type with a good record against decent opposition. His second last start on soft ground suggests he handles the going, and the trainer's record at Doomben is strong. Value is marginal rather than compelling.

Scheherazade is the form pick. She has won two of four on soft, two of four first-up and has never missed a place at Doomben over 1200m.
Abender has an excellent Doomben 1200m record and comes off a strong third on Soft 7 after settling last. The fast tempo should suit his get-back style and low weight. He lacks a soft-track win but has placed three times on wet ground.
Zoufani is a proven wet-track mare with three wins from four on soft and a high place rate. She has 2kg off and should roll forward, but barrier 19 and a likely fast tempo are concerns. Her class and soft-track form keep her in the finish.
True Amor is a value play. He won last start over 1200m on Soft 7 and has a strong distance record, but carries top weight from a wide draw in a fast tempo. He may be better suited sitting off the speed rather than leading.

Century Pools (Bm70)
Duke Of Camden is the most solid wet-track profile in the race and arrives off a close second on a Soft 7 at Eagle Farm, where he sat handy and kept finding. The good draw lets him hold a forward spot without spending energy, and the Gollan stable and jockey combination is a positive. The main query is the step to 1615m for the first time, but his 1500m run suggests he can see it out. Top pick.
He finishes strongly and the stable and jockey pairing is productive. The negatives are the wide gate and top weight, which may leave him too far back in a moderate tempo.
Headhunter has been racing consistently in stronger company and was only a length away in a Bm70 at Doomben last start after a wide trip. He has won at this track and trip and the local stable and jockey combination is a noted plus. The soft track is a query, as he is yet to place on rain-affected ground, and he can settle further back than ideal. Still, he is reliable enough for a place.
Waller and Maloney are a potent pairing and she has drawn far better than her main rival. The query is her low win strike and a habit of being run down late, but the fast tempo and soft going are in her favour.
Don'tcha Think is the value runner. He is a track-and-distance winner with a solid wet-track record and drops out of a stronger race after leading over this course last time. The risks are his age, 59kg and a tendency to overrace.

Atmosphere is the clear form pick. He is the only runner with a leading record and should find the front easily from barrier 3 in a race likely to be run slowly, which lets him dictate on a drying Soft 7. His Eagle Farm second last week in Heavy ground was the best effort in this field and he drops weight today.
Bluepinot has been the model of consistency at Doomben over this trip, running to a winning standard in each of his three visits here this preparation including a narrow second at this track and distance in September. His last-start Eagle Farm third was below his best after overracing, and that is the main query on a Soft 7. From barrier 6 he should sit handy to Atmosphere with Ryan Maloney in career-best form.
Last Command keeps turning up with honest efforts over a mile and was only run down late at Eagle Farm last start on Soft ground. His Doomben run two starts back was better than the result after being held up when running on. The wide barrier and a map that favours the on-pace runners are the concerns, and he will need Ben Thompson to find a spot early without racing wide.
Thunderlips is the overlay in the race. Drawn barrier 1 he should trail the leader without having to work on a map that suits.

Bring Me Kash is the form horse of the race with three straight wins, including two at Open level, and he is a proven wet tracker with five wins from eleven on soft. The wide gate is a risk but he has enough early speed to settle midfield.
Fleetwood is the most consistent wet-tracker in the field, placing at his last four and handling soft and heavy ground. He has four wins at 1110m and gets in light with a 3kg claim. The wide draw is a concern and he will need luck from off the pace, but his closing style and wet form make him a solid place selection.
Now Is The Hour is the likely leader and has won at Doomben, so he is respected. However, his soft-track record is modest and he is first-up, with no wins at 1110m.
A Doomben specialist with two wins and two placings from seven starts here, including a victory over this trip. He resumed with a solid third over 1200m when he looked the winner until late, and his second-up form is strong. The Jack Bruce stable is going great guns.
He has good early speed from barrier five and should get a nice sit behind the leader. He has placed on soft ground and his last run was a strong fourth after trouble.

Her second here over the same trip last start was the strongest run in the field, and she handles soft ground well. Barrier 5 and a light weight help a midfield run.
Hell should lead uncontested in a moderate tempo, which is the best scenario for him. He handles soft ground and is reliable at this class.
A mare on the way up who just missed last start after a slow beginning. The light weight is a major plus and she finishes off well. She needs luck from the back of the field and some tempo, but her recent form is strong enough to rate her a leading chance.
A seasoned soft-track performer who has been placing and winning in recent runs. He should settle handy in a moderate tempo and is overpriced, making him the value play.
