Runner-up in this grade over the same track and trip a fortnight ago after working across to sit outside the leader, and he maps for a similarly soft trail from gate three. He is already a three-time winner at Toowoomba and has placed in both his soft-track runs. The query is the last hundred metres at 1300m, but a moderate tempo in his favour should offset that.

Cooper Commercial (Bm65)
He is the strongest finisher engaged and gets in light, but he must spot them a start and circle them on a tight circuit. Respected, though the horse that beat him home gets the better map.
A second-up specialist who has won both times he has resumed from a break, and he is unbeaten in two starts over this trip at Toowoomba, leading or sitting handy on each occasion. His first-up run at Warwick was fair without threatening and he should strip much fitter. Top weight and a wide draw are the obvious concerns, but he has the class and the map has him prominent.
Lightly raced and clearly on the up, she ran to a winning standard at Ipswich last start despite being blocked at the top of the straight, finishing hard for second. She drops four kilos into this and the tempo should be honest enough for her to launch late around a circuit where get-back runners are not badly disadvantaged. The class rise and her back-marker pattern are the risks, but she has more improvement left than most.
Thrown in the deep end at his last two in Open and BM70 company and not disgraced in either, having been hampered on jumping in one and missing the start in the other. Back to this grade, in which he won here over this trip in August, and he is twice a winner at the track and distance. Blinkers go back on.

Sherrin Rentals (Bm70)
Provance has the strongest soft-track record in the field and ran a solid second here on Soft 5 last start. He now drops in class and should improve with the blinkers. He tends to begin slowly and a slow tempo is a risk. Even so, he is the most reliable chance and should be hard to beat once he gets a clear run.
Jemeldi has strong form at this level and a solid record on soft ground and over the trip. He has been unlucky in traffic at Toowoomba recently and finishes his races well. However, he will probably be well back, and a slow tempo makes it hard for closers to get into the race. He is a worthwhile place chance if the pace lifts, but he is not a big winning prospect.
Gitalong is the likely lone leader in what looks a slowly run sprint, and that helps him. He ran a brave second here last start and drops in class. Against him are top weight of 63kg and a record of four seconds but no wins from eleven starts on soft.
Galway Hussler has a good record on soft ground and at this track. She carries only 54.5kg and is likely to race on the speed in a slow-run race. Her recent runs have been disappointing, but the drop in class and the light weight give her a chance of reversing it.

Empire of Japan Standing At Hopetoun Farm (Bm60)
Cause She Can ran the best race of any runner here last start when second over this track and trip on soft, making ground when the race was dominated by on-pacers. She gets in light after the claim, maps to settle handy and has soft-track form. The stable stats are a worry, but her form and map give her a strong winning chance.
Sweet Hesitation was brave last start when leading and fighting on for fourth in a stronger class sprint on soft. She drops in grade, has two soft-track wins and is a winner at Toowoomba. The concern is top weight from a wide gate, but her speed can put her in the box seat. She is a leading chance if she crosses cleanly.
He won his debut well but was plain at Doomben last time and has no soft-track form.
She steps sharply in class and has no soft-track experience, but she is lightly raced with upside and maps well from barrier 4.

Its recent runs were all within a length of winning against comparable maidens, and it should be handy from barrier 5 in a moderately run race.
The only true front-runner in a moderately paced race, she gets a significant weight advantage and has been placed at Toowoomba several times. Barrier 11 makes crossing for the lead a task, and she has faded when headed before, but the drop back to 1640m suits.
A mare on the upswing who ran a good second on soft ground only three weeks ago. She should be sitting midfield and, with a competent rider, can get a good run.
Ran home best of all last start from near last on soft ground and now steps up in fitness second-up. A decent each-way value chance if the jockey booking is a quality one.

Abraham looks the best match for the likely race shape. He has the speed to sit just behind the leader in a slow-run race and has won here over a similar trip. His last two runs were below his best, but the Toowoomba win showed he's a different horse at this track. The step to Class 3 is small and his soft record is sound.
Switchblade won in impressive fashion last start on similar soft ground and is clearly in good order. The slow expected tempo is a concern for a horse that settles near the back, and he'll need luck from barrier 8. He has the ability to overcome that, and his recent form is the strongest in the race.
He is reliable at placing and fits the race shape, though he's winless on soft going and the stable is in a cold patch. He ranks third on a winning view.
Golden Loom is a proven wet-track horse and ran well on soft ground last start. The conditions suit him better than most in the race.

The best form in a modest maiden. She has been placed in three of five starts and was only narrowly beaten in a head-bobbing finish at Kilcoy. She should get a handy run in a slow tempo and handle the Soft 5.
She is the only genuine leader, which matters in a slowly-run maiden on a soft track. She ran well enough on this surface and track last start and has been getting closer. She has not yet placed and has weakened late when leading before.
She ran on well for third here on Soft 5 last start. The jockey stays on and she has a decent barrier. The concern is that she settles near the back in a race that could be run slowly, which makes it harder to make up ground. Her earlier breathing issue is a mild concern, though she bounced back last start.
A longshot, but one who is improving and ran a respectable fifth here on Soft 5. She should be in a handy spot in a slow tempo, and the jockey knows her.

He is the only true leader in a moderately run sprint, and his recent runs, including a good second here on heavy ground last week, are clearly the strongest in the field. Winless in 17 starts is a concern, but this is a weak maiden and he should be hard to beat if he crosses from barrier 10.
His Toowoomba second over 1200m was a strong effort. He ran on well from last after a greenly run race, and with a good draw he can improve again. The risk is that he settles at the back in a moderately run race, and he has yet to win.
Her connections are the main attraction. The stable and jockey are winning here and she should get a good spot behind the leader, with a light weight. Her own form is moderate and she is yet to run a place, so she is a safer chance to run a place than to win.
Her soft-ground run in July was close to a winning standard, and she improved last start after a wide barrier, finishing well. The stable is in top form and she gets a better draw and a more suitable distance. She is not a certain winner but rates a clear chance of running a place.
