She maps forward under Latham, which is exactly the run style the Kembla mile rewards on Soft going, and drops to 55kg.

He maps to race handy from barrier 7 and the on-pace edge at the Kembla mile is significant.
Van Hoven was solid on debut at Goulburn on Soft 5 and the big stable adding blinkers for start two signals they expect improvement. He draws to lead or sit outside the leader, and the Kembla mile historically rewards on-pace runners. Concerns are the 59kg top weight, a sire line better known for speed than stamina, and a jockey out of form.
From barrier 1 with 57kg she should get a cheap run behind the speed.

Cold Mist has the two things that matter most in Kembla Grange Maidens on Soft: an on-pace map from an inside draw and a big weight pull at 52kg. The obvious concern is 13 starts without a win, but the race shape and handicap give him every chance to break through today.
The 1400m should suit even better. Against him are 60kg, barrier 11 and a run style that historically struggles at this track on Soft, plus no wet-track exposure. A strong place chance with win upside if the tempo is genuine.
Winkers and a switch back to the Norton bit target his keenness. Each-way value.

Dynelec Australia Provincial Hcp (C1)
Barrier 3 and a midfield-handy settling position suit the track's on-pace lean. The 59kg is the main query, but his class edge over this Class 1 field is substantial.
Concerns are the unproven 1400m/soft combination and a jockey in poor form.
The problem is a get-back running style against a track with a sharp on-pace bias and moderate tempo. Blinkers first time could shift him closer, which would make him very competitive. Assessed as a place chance with upside.
Green Winter is the value runner. Back to 1400m with an on-pace map on a track that favours forward runners, he is worth an each-way play despite the soft-track and barrier queries.

Hansen & Cole (Bm64)
The form-based standout. She has raced exclusively on Soft going for a win and a placing, showed she can sit on-pace at Randwick, and now drops sharply in class to provincial BM64. Map is the only concern, but from barrier 4 in a small field Latham should find a handy spot.
A reliable each-way runner whose profile fits the Kembla Soft-track lean. She settles just behind the speed, has placed at this track and distance on Soft 5, and drops from a competitive Canterbury BM72 where she was beaten under two lengths. The Reith/Widdup pairing is strong and blinkers return. Lack of winning instinct caps confidence, but she should be in the finish again.
The overlay in the race. Her actual Soft-track race record is plain, but the heavy-track Maiden win and trial form suggest she handles it.

WHK Commercial (Bm64)
Drumfire is the class horse of the race on pure form. His 2nd to a smart type in Open company on a Soft 7 and a Muswellbrook Open win first-up both rate well above BM64 provincial level, and a recent Rosehill trial win on Soft 5 confirms fitness. Gets in with 58kg and maps to sit third behind moderate pace, ideal for the Kembla on-pace lean.
Sky Deck's Maiden win was authoritative and he maps perfectly, but the jump to BM64 is a real step and his only wet-track outing was a failure.
The problem is race shape: he gets back and Kembla is unkind to backmarkers unless the pace falls apart. With only two genuine leaders and moderate tempo, he needs luck, but if Buckley can find a midfield spot from barrier 5 the turn of foot is strong enough.
He returns to Kembla off a genuine Open-class win on a Heavy 10, has placed in this very race on Soft 5 earlier in the year, and gets his most successful rider back. The 61.5kg is the obvious knock, but his two most recent Kembla failures had legitimate excuses and he maps into a handy position from a favoured barrier.

The form standout. Tongue tie first time is a positive tweak.
Under the debutant proxy evaluation Fovea scores highly: a strong trainer, in-form combination and two trial wins by six-plus lengths on soft ground.
The tempo play. With three leaders forecast to generate a very fast pace, her closing pattern is the one most likely to benefit.
Overlay for the place. Brutal Advance has never won but has been placed in half his starts, including two seconds at 1000m and a 2:0-2-1 style soft-track profile, and returns off a trial win with an in-form senior rider from a favourable mid draw. Small each-way stake for value.

Zynaro is the horse whose form, map and connections align best with the Kembla soft-track profile. He has placed twice in three starts including a competitive third at Wyong second-up, wins a Soft 5 trial, draws ideally in barrier 6 and maps to sit third behind a cheap leader with Magorrian aboard for Waller (21% combo).
There is no evidence she will be forward enough to exploit the on-pace bias, and barrier 12 is a negative.
She races handy enough to benefit from the Kembla on-pace edge, has the Latham/O'Shea combination striking at 21%, and drops 1kg. Soft-track race form is unproven but trial evidence on Soft 7 was sound.
That'sallshewrote is the overlay. Each-way suits given the place profile on this track.

Rotary Club Of West Wollongong (Bm64)
Her soft-track record (2 wins, 1 third from 3) and a prior 1600m win on Soft 5 where she settled third make the mile on this surface ideal. Drawn barrier 2 with the in-form Brodie Loy, she should settle closer than the map suggests, which is critical given Kembla's soft-track bias to on-pace and handy runners.
Smart Cry's Gosford 2nd was excellent, but it sits alongside three plain runs this campaign, a modest 2-from-12 record, and no win on Soft ground. She maps to settle back, exactly the profile that Kembla's soft-track mile stats punish, and the jockey booking is weak.
His first-up 3rd behind Cabbucio in a BM68 was full of merit after an awkward start.
Canny Queen is the standout overlay. She won this grade at Kembla last start with 60kg settling handy, has a prior BM64 win over 1600m on Soft 7, and ran a close 5th in a Group 3 over this exact course and distance on Soft 5. The map is perfect: on-pace from barrier 4 in a race where the front three at the 400m win over 20% of soft-track miles here.
