The most complete runner on form. She has won and run a close second at Hobart on soft ground, handles the wet and should find the cover she wants behind the leader in a steadily run race.

Graham Family Funerals (Bm68)
Regal Hunter has the speed to sit handy and a soft-track win at Hobart over 2100m. The slow tempo should let him get a soft run in front or second.
He gets the lead and the slow tempo helps, but his recent runs show him weakening late when he has been out in front. A placing is more likely than a win.

Roxy Dancer is the likeliest winner on form. She is the only proven front-runner, has the rail gate on a moderate-tempo map, and is placed on Soft 5 here. Her trial win last start suggests she is ready. She did tire when leading last time, but the race shape and weight suit her.
Bewicked has run to a good standard in her recent starts and has place form in every start so far. She has the speed to sit just behind Roxy Dancer, which suits her better than leading. She is fit and lightly weighted. Her big risk is a pace battle that blunts her finish, so she is a solid contender but not the main win option.
Arianna's Gold is a reliable soft-ground performer who has run second three times. She sits behind the speed here and her first-up record is strong. The concern is that she keeps finding one better and has not won in nine tries.
She is second up and has handled the track and distance.

The form horse. He resumed with a closing fourth behind the main rivals over the same trip and should be sharper second up, having been competitive in Listed company over ground last campaign.
Her debut third over this trip was a strong pointer, coming from the second half of the field and hitting the line. Fitter second up and drawn to be handier, she is a clear danger.
Ran the race of his life first up when beaten half a length over this trip, and that is the strongest single piece of form in this field. He drops back to a plain maiden and should be fitter, and while he has been a get-back type, his best run came when camped handy.
An improving stayer from a stable that can do no wrong at present. He produced the best run of his four-start career last time when close up over this trip after being forced to work early, and with no established leader in the race he can roll forward and control a moderate tempo.

Unquestionably the horse to beat. He led and destroyed a maiden field over this trip on soft ground here in the winter, then resumed and fought on for second at Launceston despite sitting outside the leader. The tempo map suits him sitting second, and his best is well above Class 1 company. The knocks are the top weight, the wide gate and the fact he pulled up lame last start, but on form he should be winning.
The most reliable horse in the race without being a winner. She has run second four times on end this prep, several of them by a length or less after settling in the first three, and she does own a win over this route on a rain-affected track. From a good gate she maps perfectly in a race without much speed. The query is whether she can find the extra to actually get her nose down.
The map horse. He is the one runner with a leading record and he draws the inside, so he should get a soft time in front in a race lacking tempo. He has placed in most of his Hobart appearances and goes well on soft, and he drops out of Class 2. The issue is that he has had plenty of chances and only won once; if something challenges him early, he has folded before.
He settles near the tail, but he has been hitting the line hard and his placed run over this trip on a soft track at Launceston two starts back would have him in the finish here. Last time he was caught wide and never got a clear crack. The concern is a moderate tempo with a lone leader, so he will need the pace to be genuine to launch over the top.

Ladbrokes Switch (Bm60)
The best form in the race. He has been placed in all four starts, including a soft-track win at Hobart, and drops into a far easier grade. His midfield style is ideal if the three leaders burn each other out, and the light weight helps. First-up and the jockey change are small risks, but he is the most likely winner.
A talented filly who has the class edge on most, but the shape of the race is against her. Geegeeschaser and Tassie Power will make sure the pace is hot, and her last start showed she can run out of gas when leading.
A dependable mare in the right spot for a fast pace.
The tempo is the main concern, because he will be near the speed, but he has handled that before. First-up is a question mark, but he is overpriced compared with his best form.

Olive Tree Catering (Bm60)
Has the strongest profile on form in this field. She is proven at the track and distance, runs well on soft ground and drops in class after a game second last start.
A genuine on-pacer who looks to have the run of the race if she can lead. The slow tempo helps her, and she has been very consistent in this grade, though she tends to be swamped late. A strong place chance and a real winning prospect if she controls the speed.
He has few wins for his number of starts and 1600m is not proven, so he fits best as a place-leaning chance behind the top two.

Oceana Health & Fitness Hcp (C2)
She is the only genuine leader, which should mean an easy time in front in a moderately run race. Her soft-track and 1420m record is the best in the field and the class drop helps. Her last two runs were short of her best, so she isn't a certainty.
She is a consistent, placed type who is well suited by the Hobart soft surface. The jockey is in top form and rides her often. A midfield position in a moderately run race should give her a sit, but she has only one win from 20 starts and has not finished off well lately.
She is a reliable placegetter with a handy run style that suits the moderate tempo. She was only just beaten at 1420m two runs back. Her wet-track and local records show plenty of placings but no wins, and the recent trend is down. She rates a good place chance and a threat if the leader is pressured.
Her best form is on soft ground at Hobart, and she ran second here at her last local start. With 50kg she gets a big weight advantage on the rest. She is a back-marker in a moderately run race, so she needs luck.

Winning Edge Presentation Goodwood Hcp
On form he is the most likely winner. He has won his last three, all clearly, and the times show he is already up to open class. He has won all three first-up runs, has his regular rider on board and drops to 54kg. He should get a sit behind Alpine Thunder in a moderately run race. The main question is soft ground: he has had only one run on it, but he ran second.
He is clearly the best-class horse in the race. His Listed second at Hobart on soft ground in February was the strongest run of anyone in this field. Against that, he has to carry 61kg over a sharp 1100m first up after eight months off, and his stable is out of form. His soft-track trials suggest he is ready, and the rail drawn barrier 1 helps. He is the danger if the weight does not stop him.
He is the fittest of the main chances and comes in third up after two wins. He has the early speed to get across and sit outside or behind Alpine Thunder. He goes well on soft ground and his jockey is in good form. Barrier 10 is the worry, and his win last start was not the quickest.
She suits these conditions. She is unbeaten in three runs at Hobart, has won both runs at this distance here and has won three of five on soft ground. From barrier 2 she should get the run of the race just behind the leader in a moderately run race. She is stepping up in class, but her recent times say she is good enough.
