Has the best combination of form, trajectory and race shape. He was held up and still ran a winning-standard race over 1400m here, then raced handy and kept finding when third over 1660m at Doomben. The mile now suits. His wet-track ability is the only unknown.

The problem is the race shape. She settles near last, the tempo looks slow, and with the rail out the leaders sit on the best ground. She also steps up to a mile for the first time.
Gets the most favourable map of the main chances. She jumps fast, should sit on the speed with the rail out, and her last-start run at Doomben over a similar trip was close to winning standard. She has placed twice on soft ground. The concern is that she has been found wanting late more than once.
Two starts back he was beaten a nose over 1800m at Eagle Farm, and that run is good enough to win this. His last start came on heavy ground, where he raced keenly and laid out badly.

Fifty Calibre has the best form for this grade on a wet track. He won a race at this level on heavy ground over this course and distance, and his eighth last start in a stronger Bm65 on heavy was a much better run than the margin suggests after he missed the start. The stable is flying and he should be primed third-up. The main worries are the 60kg and a slow pace that won't suit his midfield racing style.
Evade The Game is a reliable wet-track mare with strong form over this course and distance. Her second here on Soft 6 two runs back is the right form for this race, and the claim gives her a big weight advantage over the top pick. Her keenness and poor win strike rate are the concerns, but a handier position in a slowly run race could help her. She looks a solid place chance.
But she has won only once in 24 starts, her recent runs have been well below the standard needed, and there are doubts about her stamina at 1800m.
Ormond Road has been running well at this track in stronger staying races, and his third in a C2 race last start would be good enough to win this. With the 3kg claim he carries a tiny weight.

Streeter Industries Mdn Plate
She has the strongest record in the field: consistent placings, two recent runs at a winning standard, and a last-start third over this course and distance despite being held up and hampered late. She drops 2.5kg off that run and handles wet ground. The worry is her slow starts in a race where the leader should get a soft run, but at this level her class should carry her.
On a clean run last start she would likely have finished much closer, and her second at this track in May was as good as anything in this field. She drops in weight and draws the inside, so she can stay handy.
His one race was a strong debut second, and his soft-ground trial win shows the stable has him ready. He has clear upside, but the wide draw and a likely spot towards the back are a real concern over 1000m with the rail well out.
The short 1000m trip should stop the late fade he showed at 1200m.

On form he is the class runner in the race. He is unbeaten in his last two starts, both at Sunshine Coast on soft ground, and he has run to a winning standard more often than anything else in the field. Barrier 1 lets him sit just behind or among the leaders on the best ground with the rail out 9m. His trainer is going well with only a few runners. The doubt is fitness, since he has been off for five months and there is no trial in the data.
He is a seasoned sprinter dropping back in grade, and his record on soft ground is strong at five wins from 15. His run at Sunshine Coast two starts ago was better than the bare third, because he raced keenly and was checked. He should be handy on the best ground with the rail out.
His fresh record and soft-ground form make him a genuine chance, and his recent trial on the inner track was sharp. However, his best runs have not matched the standard of Out Of Turn's, and settling back is a disadvantage with the good ground in the middle of the track. Back him for a place rather than the win.
Her last run is easy to forgive, because she began awkwardly and raced wide at Eagle Farm. Before that she ran a strong second over this course and distance, and she has a good record at the track. She can sit handy on the best ground, and the claim gives her a light weight.

Civil Scapes Hcp (55)
On form I rate this the likeliest winner, mainly because of the map. With no other proven front-runner, the lead is open, and a soft-track winner who nearly won over this trip here two starts ago can control the race. The wide rail keeps leaders on the firmest ground. Stable form is a minor concern.
But he has only one win from 16 starts and has been reported as not enjoying the soft here.
Comfortably competitive and at home on soft ground at this track, with a couple of near-winning runs earlier in the campaign. She will be handy from a good gate. But she is first-up from a long break with first-time cheekers, and her first-up record is modest.
He is unproven on soft and the stable's record at this track is poor, so the risk is real. But he has a good barrier and a handy position, and he is the best value in the race.

Col Burn has won three of four at Sunshine Coast and beat a Class 2 field over this course and distance on heavy ground last start, despite being held up turning for home. He goes up only slightly in class to Class 3, and the claim gets him in well at the weights. The wide draw and midfield run style are worries against a slow pace, but a capable horse who is still improving should be too good.
On his best form he is the class runner of the race. His Doomben win would beat this field. Dropping back to 1400m with an inside draw should help him settle handy, and his wet-track placings are solid.
The race shape suits him. He should lead on his own at a slow pace, and with the rail out the best ground is on the crown, which helps leaders. His second at Ipswich on soft ground shows he is good enough for this class, and he steps up again third-up.
Her recent form is stronger than her finishing positions suggest. Before that she ran second over this course and distance on soft ground. She steps up in grade, but the claim leaves her well weighted, and barrier 4 should give her a sit just behind The Bear.

Logic Solar Hcp (62)
On form she is the most likely winner. Her Gatton win and her Sunshine Coast fourth over 1400m on rain-affected ground are the best runs in this field, and her trial win at the track says she comes back ready. From barrier 1 with early speed she should get the trail behind Tap High in a slowly run race.
A genuine contender because of the map. His form is solid, with three straight placings, and his Sunshine Coast run on soft ground was close to winning standard. He keeps finding one better, though, which is why he is second here, but he rates a strong place chance.
His best runs are well above this grade, so he can win. The setup is against him, though: he is first up, settles back from barrier 14, and the race looks slowly run with one leader, so he will have to run past horses on the speed.
A track specialist who goes well on wet ground and has already won this grade here over 1400m on a Soft 6. He was held up last start and will be third up today, so he is fit. He is proven in these conditions, though, and is the overlay in the race, so back him each-way.
